    BattlEye blocking Reshade?

Happened to me countless times, especially when trying to use custom presets that includes the dxgi.dll completely clean and reinstal the ReShade, hope it helps, if not try to use presets.

Don't go back to W7, it's just stupid, haha. Well i've never updated to Fall, but instead i've installed the W10 with fall update and damn i had so much issues at first, but i've figured out that W10 was downloading and doing shit in bg like finalizing the OS or something or even downloading my whole SSD/HDD drives, my internet was limited to like 200kb/s for like 2-3hours ( usually i have around 14mb/s dl speed and 7-8mb/s up ), also had random freezing and stuff, but now it works just fine.

I have no idea tbh since it doesn't match anything related to your technical specs, but it can be because of HDD ( if you don't have SSD ) or even the RAM. If you're running your OS on HDD and DayZ on same HDD it could be slight bottleneck, for RAM stability you can use the "Windows Memory Diagnostic" tool that's available since Windows 10 i think. Also try to disable Windows Superfetch, Windows Search, Cortana and Xbox DVR if you're running W10. ( google how to ).

Yeah, thats why you should try to jump between servers also try to switch from Stable to Exp just to see if something changes. Record an gameplay with MSI Afterburner running ( that shows GPU usage.temps, VRAM Usage, RAM usage, CPU usage, CPU temps )

Okay that makes sense, probs you're sticking with the only server that might have poor performance. otherwise there's like no logic explanation for that. On another hand try ot overclock your FX CPU if you have decent cooling ( just make sure you know what you're doing before doing :D ).

    Low FPS recently

I just tried to play DayZ Stable w/ your settings in a random pub server the fps is as before, there might be issues with your hardware or OS. Btw try to disable all background stuff ( music, especially browser such as chrome etc and all not necessary stuff since your CPU could be possibly bottlenecking ). Also try different servers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIfpq3QbtxY My specs: CPU: i5-2320 ( should not be much different than yours in terms of performance ) GPU: ZOTAC GTX 980Ti 6GB AMP! Omega ( ye its overkill compared to 1050Ti, but before i've played with shitty R9 270 and it performed pretty ok ) RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance @1333 ( basically same, mby urs better cuz better mobo ) PSU: OCZ ZS 650W 80+ Screen: LG UltraWide 2560x1080 Playing on SSD EDIT: Check temps/usage ingame of GPU and CPU, happened to me once when my cooler got loose and fps dropped to extremely low levels even it was fine before and i didn't figured out why since other games was running fine till i checked the temps later. The reason was that the other games was not so CPU intensive as DayZ so it didn't reached very high temps cause it was cooled slightly, but in dayz the temps was 99c and CPU downcloked itself pretty bad. Was like 20ish fps compared to 50-70 before. If temps is OK and based on UserBench your components performs as expected/above then it could be just bad server or OS problems ( running bg apps, nvidia driver issues, etc. ). The last step you should try is to put your OLD PSU into your current rig and see if something changes, just make sure the CPU is set at stock clocks since it eats around 400W if OC'ed and 500W psu could be not enough for whole rig , if thats the first time ure running this PSU it could be the cause since some of them can come faulty from the factory no matter how good the PSU is.

    Low FPS recently

What's the PSU models you had before and now? Watts doesn't say anything tbh and 750W is way too much for your current rig unless you've OC'ed the FX pretty high ( that can cause some performance issues too )

    Low FPS recently

I have an i5-2320 which is pretty much same as your CPU so i think that fps you have is way too low. I also had some random fps drops in DayZ when switching from Stable to Exp, like 50% fps drop, so it could be server issues. Another cause could be this Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, many users reported problems with Nvidia cards/drivers. Probs i will jump into a game and see myself if thats dayz issues, didn't played it in a while, but had pretty good fps last time. Meanwhile you can try to run quick benchmark and see if your components runs properly based on worldwide averages. ( disable MSI Afterburner's RivaTuner if you use before the test ) http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Software

Here you go. Objects usually uses CPU power, not GPU, in larger areas there's way more geometry to handle and you're running with hi quality objects, that can cause high fps drops since your CPU bottlenecks, also GPU has more job in larger areas especially for Antialiasing and AO. Anyway im surprised that you have less fps after switching from weak QUADRO ( that is even weak for computing/work ), maybe your power supply is bad and doesn't handle the GPU somehow even thats unlikely.. Or maybe DayZ engine just likes QUADRO's way more :D Drop your full PC specs.

    [ADD] AutoRun Hotkey ,

It's available in Arma 3 Exile mods, but i barely used it, since u can craft quad/bicycle and there's totally no need. Someone obviously gonna mod that, but i think even easier is just setup macro or something.

Zig-Zags: "We want to have a solution that is both visually appealing and on point when it comes to gameplay." Imo best solution would be to make it realistic maybe in some accelerated way. Sprinting: if camera moved to a side like 0-90degress the character leans a bit to a side of camera direction. If mouse moved 90-180degrees the character quickly turns around like in this video. Running: same as sprinting just if camera moved 180degress the character probs turns around while jogging backwards a bit for a sec and starts running normally right before he fully stops. Walking: I think its done.

    Exp Update 0.62.142963

Experimental is like Early Access of Early Access. Usually new fixes/featues comes into exp first, then if it works fine it moves to Stable. That must have been sarcasm anyway. 369posts..

    .63 ETA ?

Probs i will start to piss off everyone here already. That definitely gives an impact on animating time and especially animation system, but i HIGHLY doubt that even 10-20 extra anims gives that much of a difference, keep in mind that these animations is just like 2-4sec each and maybe like 40% of then is being reused. Now combine it all, lets say weapon has 20 animations, there's 20 weapons: So 20x20x3.5 = 1400sec of total animation + the character movement ~100sec, so total is like 25minutes of main animation. Also including some props, meele weapons we can add more 25minutes, so total is 50min of animation. Give the job to 5 animators assuming they do hand made animations, 1min of animation should take around a day or a day and half for experienced animator. So 5 people, 50mins = 10-15days. I am sure that DayZ uses mostly Motion capture ( just like 99% of movement you see in AAA games is motion capture including the controls you make ), so most of the animations is done very quickly.. Then it's a programmers turn to attach/import these animations into his "Animation System" and make it work ( and here i have no clue how long it takes, but obviously not a half year, probs triple the time of the animating itself, maybe building the system + animating + importing animations can definitely take half year+ ). Just to clear things out i was talking about animating after animation system is done.

    .63 ETA ?

From how you're saying this i suppose you work as animator/programmer yourself. I guess what you're trying to say is that the animation system is the hard part also various things working in a studio, such as polishing the system over and over again till it's perfect, in that case yes it can take even 5years. But i had in mind doing animations after the animation system is complete does not take long, unless again needs a perfection and overall the studio is crappy ( constantly delaying stuff, senior artists gone somewhere etc ). Once the animation system is built ( which is already done in DayZ ), the rest is same as doing mocap animations. For the the animation system programming looks pretty similiar to VFX creation or even procedural texturing. Atleast in such interface as UE4 which is simplified alot imo compared to for example what DayZ devs dealt with. Here's pretty decent system built by a single person ( he also mentioned that he has no programming knowledge/skills ), probs took like a week or two for him to build this, so imagine what full team can do? And here's how a half year of work looks by a single amateur animator/programmer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM0hsMbZ-Gg Anyway, enlighten me, how come for a team of professionals can it take half year to rewrite animation system and do some mocaps? ( keep in mind that they're experienced and trial and error should be minimal for them making the progress ALOT faster than it would take for completely new programmers who has no clue about that engine ). imo that's how it works: 1. Rewrite/Improve animation system: 1-2months 2. Animating/troubleshooting: 1month 3. Polishing/Problem solving: up to 1month. If somewhere is a huge mistake ( which most likely wont happen ) repeat from 1 and then you have a half year. Keep in mind that i consider these timings for a highly skilled and talented team who works pretty intense and not like 2-3hours a day.

    .63 ETA ?

Can say the same about you. So please tell me how long it takes animate something like that? ( full 2mins )
  18. exacomvm

    .63 ETA ?

I could agree if that was for GTA V or similiar game where's tons of variety + thousands of cutscene mocaps. But for a single character i highly doubt. Oh and i don't think that GTA V animations took over half year, cause it's only mocaps and euphoria engine for the physics which makes stuff kinda automated when players/people fall n stuff. If there's 1 animator and 1 mocap actor and 1 coder/scripter then maybe it takes a half year for DayZ. Remember that there's tons of scripts/codes and techniques that makes the entire animating alot faster ( talking especially about the blending from animation A to B ).

Yeah, the Z's smarter AI could be awesome, like nearly human-like, there could be lone wolf style Z's like pure predators w/o much of brain just doing stuff based on their instincts similair as current Z's, mostly roaming in towns. The smarter "breed" of Z's working in packs doing some sort of ambushes or just living their own lives mostly found outside of towns in forests etc or just travelling in fields. Like imagine you're travelling and there's sitting like 8 Z's in front of fireplace eating some humans and once spotted they send a bunch of arrows your way and some attack with meele weapons with a running speed of wolves and endless stamina ( well but since death would be nearly unavoidable there should be system that theyre afraid of towns or something so it would let u escape e.g. they dont go outside of their "land" ) and there should be alot of these "packs", it should make a serious challenge to travel somewhere without proper weapons, so it would not be such "running simulator" and players in general should be more friendly seeking for company bringing less KoS in the game and overall less boring travels. For these who wants to gear up and just kill some players this could be annoying.

Well one thing i know is that Bohemia probs has the most complex game engine out there since they focus on simulations and stuff like that, so gotta agree.

These are sequences imo, i think the real challenge there is for the coders, not animators, but even coding it should not be very difficult since the coder most likely very good at it and can add it pretty fast. Also i doubt that Bohemia had to redo this system, old ones should work just fine. For example CS:GO has tons of 1-3sec animations that blends into various actions during gameplay. For example if you run and look up/down then animation A, B and C blends automatically. I guess every game uses this cause it just saves alot of time and overall is better technique rather than do separate anims for every possible action. Actually it would be interesting if devs could add some screens or even "timelapses" of making some stuff something like that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZnyigB4OHk

Yeah gotta agree and also disagree to my previous posts, exaggerated it a bit, but also weapon animations is pretty short sequences atleast these first person ones, but in DayZ its full body animations with reloading/running etc ofcourse is way harder to make these and merge with mocaps. Typical game has like Hands+Gun and animations such as fire, reload and draw and that's it. Dayz has like: Full Body + Weapon ( fire, raised, lowered, reload, chamber, raised running, lowered running, raised walk, lowered walk ) Also i think it highly depends on the artist too and how much of scripts/shortcuts he has and learned for animating.

Well i get what you mean, but animating for SFM and for a Game Engine is barely a different thing. Game Animators even have some fancy rigs made for themselves which makes the animating even easier than for a std "SFM" guy. But animating for a game is alot more responsibility and the quality must be great ofcourse, you can't just make something "random" as video editors do. Nowadays SFM isn't even a thing in eSports movie making, they now started using actual Game Engines.. since it saves the rendering times alot compared to normal renderers. Also usually animations are made outside of the game engine, they just getting imported to an game engine. Oh and i do not try to compare myself to anything, im not even animator. I just know things haha. Here's an example ( UE4 ): And here is one that was made completely manually and rendered in 3D Application, ~8months of work ( Octane Render with Maya or something ): @Troll_Hunter Fair point, sometimes i just get cocky as we all do, I am not Animator, i just mostly do Look-Dev & modelling related stuff as hobby or freelance job, sometimes some video editing too ( started as editor, became CG Artist ). I would not even consider myself a "Good" artist, still alot to learn. Here's something i currently work on ( test renders that turned out pretty good ): https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v8G1d Unfortunately i do not have something cool to show that was final job, i focus more on learning and playing around rather than doing some production quality stuff ( damn perfectionism ). Not so long ago started using Octane Render, did few tests: Check desc for some screens. Edit: Not sure how hard the moding gonna be ( like importing new stuff etc ), but i gonna consider making a weapon or two for DayZ including some anims+technical specs, that should be a good taste of the tip of iceberg of what DayZ devs dealing with right now. Even if nobody is going to use it, it should be fun to see it ingame on private server or something.

Just forget i've even wrote something here. " where is this magical person who can go through every asset of a dayz sized game and get it working in a totally different engine within a "week or something" just proves you have no idea what you're talking about. A person can animate stuff etc, or make sfx for it, but it's up to coder to make it all work and trust me it's pretty easy. Well it depends on a team ofcourse, but usually shit like animations or sfx should not take long time, if someone told me to do 6 weapons in 2days for 300$ i could easily animate them even if i was lacking some skill, i think extra day would be enough to go through trial and error and finish the job as quality output. I made this with pretty much 0 animating skills in like 1hour ( running, aiming etc ):

Even that is nearly impossible. In first place they should hire me and then give me an Supervisor status or something close to that. Even highly talented artists can't achieve this level so easily.
