In terms of "Bullpups" what about the AKU-94? A bullpup version of the AKM in 7,62x39mm. The way I imagine the AKU-94 could exist in two examples: The standard and easiest method is to make it a spawnable weapon at Eastern Type Crashsites and as a very rare military loot weapon. Functionally it has similar stats to the AKM, albiet with similar modifiers of the Bullpup. Plus it would feature the same optic additions, such as the PSO-1 Scope for example. When the game excepts full on weapon dismantling and/or "field stripping" a weapon for parts, players could find an AKU-94 Parts kit at Military Locations where they can combine their AKM main body reciever and the internal guts in the stock of the weapon, transforming a regular rifle into a bullpup configuration.

With the current Zombie types available right now PvE would be kind of bland. Don't get me wrong I love myself a little PvE every now and again, but right now I feel that PvE will be kind of stale because of the total lack of hostile wildlife and the Zombies themselves. IF a mod comes around that enforces a PvE style server, it will probably be better to ramp up the number of Zombies (or even introduce specialised "types") as well as hostile wildlife and even Hostile NPC's to the player.

Overall I think what we need in terms of "shotgun shells" in general is simple this: Birdshot or Shot Buckshot Slug Bean Bag/Rubber Slug Breaching Slug Flare Blank Improvised Ammo (if they ever add in the ability to make your own ammo out of scrap parts that is) Perhaps add in "Magnum" sub variants which have more power but are overall rarer in spawn chance. I'm with gews on this, I regularly hunt waterfowl and other small game and I've NEVER known anyone to use Flechettes, even in the states, Flechettes are often treated as a novelty. Now I've known some guys shoot pest species like fox and rabbit with homemade shot before but I've never heard anyone use flechettes for hunting.

Something I always wondered about DayZ Standalone is it's fictional background and story. I believe even multiplayer games like DayZ deserve some backstory elements to explain how the world became to be that we are now playing in. I feel currently in DayZ we don't have much focus on what happened before, there's still unanswered questions relating to this. How did the Outbreak start? What Organisations existed before the Outbreak even began, what was life before on Chernarus before the Outbreak? What even happened DURING the outbreak and what happened after? There are ways we could describe this, Old Newspapers, Military Pamplets describing how to survive etc etc. Previous buildings which gave more story as well as usefulness to the game. It's very much a similar issue with the past DayZ Mod, it raised questions HOW the Americans and British got involved. A very loose explanation was based on the Arma storyline but surely DayZ Standalone deserves to have it's OWN backstory instead of leeching off of Arma's backstory, simply because it shares a game engine. Story can greatly increase the value and feel of a game greatly, even a multiplayer game such as DayZ. So I ask two things. One and most critical, is to ask for suggestions relating to Story elements in DayZ Standalone and two, as a forum suggestion, to create a Fanfiction Subcatergory in DayZ so that we the players can create unique fiction for DayZ Standalone and maybe hopefully showcase some our creativity in storytelling.

To be honest I just have these thoughts of running idly through some forests and suddenly stumbling upon this skeletonised corpse of a former survivor (who's death is likely hypothermia or an illness) dressed up in badly damaged gear that no one had found till now. Could even spawn a super rare item that was only common before the outbreak.
-
To a degree I'd love to see more like this, but in a way that makes it believeable. For example, coming across a decaying body of a former survivor or a even a Skeleton body of a survivor slumped against a tree or simply found lying in the street. Everything of importance would have been long gone by now and everything else left to decay. It would offer a unique loot location that was random but simply looting it would pose a risk in scavenging simply damaged and badly damaged gear as well as the risk of contracting a disease.
-
When I said about the story I did not mean about the survivors backstory, I'm talking about the story of the world your thrown, it's in part an end game dynamic, being able to find information in the world to describe what happened. It's all well and good not knowing what happened but everyone's curiosity would want to know what happened eventually. It's something to add flavour.

I wonder if some jury rigging could also be applied to these weapons parts as whole? Maybe the infamous garden shovel handle as a improvised stock on an AK :D or hell even using other weapon parts to craft improvised weapons with some creativity and ingeniuty.

Yeah that could work, I'd also like to add in Safety Goggles to Industrial Sites. Safety Goggles Skiing Goggles Tactical Goggles

To add onto this, perhaps being able to find "Magnum" strength cartridges as a rarity version of the common shotgun shells. Commonly shotgun shells exist in 2.75" or 3" (also known as Magnum Cartridges) or even 3.5" (reffered to as "Super Magnum") although 3.5" is generally much more uncommon so I'll leave those out. For Europe at least, it's common to find 2.75" and 3" Birdshot shells, the way I see Birdshot working in-game, is like a weaker version of regular buckshot. It would offer a higher spread at the expense damage over range and like it's design sake, be designed to kill small targets (such as birds, rats, rabbits and other small game). Magnum grade Birdshot would offer high range, penetration and damage but they still would be sub-par to buckshot. Military strength cartridges are almost always 3", so I think if you were to find Buckshot or Slugs in Military Zones they should be "Military Grade Buckshot" or "Military Grade Slugs". For guns like the MP133 they'd reduce the magazine size by 1 (if they were 3"), but would also increase the range, penetration and power behind each shot. PLUS, if they were to add any semi-automatic shotgun into the game, they would need to fire 3" shells, as most semi-auto's cant reliable fire 2.75" without regular jamming. Also, in addition to Rock Salt, a new kind of "Slug" alternative, could be a Pepperball Slug. It's concept is similar to a plastic slug, in that it fires a round light plastic ball containing a powdered form of Pepper Spray. It provides more of a visual less-lethal effect over the pain effect of Rock Salt. Effects would be an intense burning sensation of the chemicals, blurring eyesight as well the impact of the light plastic ball that strikes the target. Four instances I can offer in relation to this post with four videos showcasing ideal uses for "improvised" shotgun shells: Cut Shells - A simple method to create a more lethal iteration of buckshot and birdshot (only useful at close range) Improvised Slugs Wax and Glue Slugs Crazy Improvised Shotgun Rounds

Currently as an expiriment, we decided to throw an open can of beans onto a campfire, it showed the same result as you would cooking meat, a slow pink red to a solid dark red. We thought it was a new addition and tried it, as far we knew it wasn't any different from eating regular beans BUT the can itself was hot and was being used as a resuable heatpack.

Something I thought might be handy and something of an ingame tag system to identify friendlies is to spray paint a torn rag and wear it on the persons arm. Just an idea on easier ways to identify friendly units operating in a group, especially if they run alongside similar looking gear.
-
Something I thought could be added is the effect of draining an animals blood for food or drink. A number of blood related recipes exist in the world and often blood is a core ingrediant in some dishes. One possible food recipe I can envision is by combining Oatmeal with Pork Blood to create a dish known as Black Pudding (which is basically oatmeal and blood mixed together into a nutrious and filling cake) I've looked around the web and so far I haven't found any concrete conclusion as to whether Animal blood eaten or drank raw is considered bad for you, the only thing I have found is that Animal blood is normally sterile upon the first few minutes of a slain animal and becomes toxic or contaiminated some time after extraction. It could also be drained from a human and consumed like a drink but from what I've gathered Human blood is very toxic and can make people gravely ill when consumed

Exactly that and some of us don't have goliath machines that can run everything on ultra high while some of us like to be play at max frames while in the cities

I think I just found the perfect video that illustrates the construction of a tent with tarps:

And yet there have been a few instances where I've run into a guy wearing the exact same gear I was or one of our team-mates we're fighting and have one of our guys accidently shoot me in the confusion. I've even run alongside what was thought to be a low geared squad and none were the wiser to who i was. Its a simple suggestion, simply being able to spray paint torn up rags from a T-shirt for a quick indentification of a friendly team-mate.

Perhaps layered clothing could also be added for other reasons besides the cold for example it could be for protection and storage. In a perfect world I could see a maximum of 4 players on a player, these being the under-layer, middle layer, top layer and optional layer. The Under-Layer would be things like Shirts, Flannel Shirts and VestsMiddle layer would be things like sweaters and pull oversTop Layer would be Jackets and CoatsThe Optional Layer would be things like Body Armor etcMore over I think that some body armor currently in-game like the anti-stab vest or maybe even a light kevlar vest could be added and worn as a middle layer protection. More over, I also think that wearing alot of "thick" or durable clothing layers would enhance the players protection against melee attacks and the chance that a person would bleed. For example, if I wore a leather jacket on top of a sweater and shirt, I'd imagine I could take a few more blows before it actually hit the skin.

Wheelchairs could be considered even a vehicle in the same league as a bicycle, yeah your not gonna be lightning quick but it's still some form of transport. Maybe even have the ability to feature Mobility Scooters like this one: Hell perhaps even with time one could even craft a petrol powered Mobility scooter like this guy:

Looking at it, I wonder what would be awesome to see in a bombed out city or even one that has experienced alot of destruction. For example, the Cherno plane crash could become so much more interesting if we were able to explore the damaged building. Even more so I could see some buildings even surviving (albiet extremely damaged) in the bombing which offers some unique entry ways and exits as well as travel routes inside. For example one image I picture is three of those high rise apartment blocks, one having toppled over and smashing into it's neighbour building. It's not quite toppled over though and remains at a diagonal slant.
-
In terms of towns and cities, I'd love to encounter more towns or even a city that was bombed out during the first outbreaks, something that says that when the outbreak started that the centralized government tried to qaurantine the rapid spread of the virus. Maybe even some towns or villages where nature has naturally taken it back, houses for example which are covered top to bottom in plants.

You already get guts from animals and potentially humans and while they can be used as improvised heatpacks (reusable too) I think you should be able to splay them out somewhere so that it could act as a warning maybe. Imagine christmas lights but with guts draped across the walls

A while back I posted a thread poll about adding the PM-73 being added to Police Station spawns, which is shown here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/214696-pm-73-in-police-stations/ Many on reddit and other sources I've found all state it is one of the RAREST weapons in DayZ Standalone (alongside in-game player feedback) of which it has all but disappeared since 0.47 patch (its introduction) and it's not that particulary good for such a rare weapon, in fact the MP5K outshines it in terms of performance and modularity. Some even claim the weapon was removed for some unknown reason. And yet the Mp5K continues to be a more prominant spawn in Police Stations and other General Military Locations. So I propose that the MP5K should be regulated as a Crash Site Only spawn alongside it's attachments with the PM-73 being WAY more common in Police Stations alongside it's magazines, the 15rd and the 25rd. This is especially important, as the .380 Auto ammo it uses seems to spawn most frequently in Police Stations and other Residential/Civilian loot spawns. So with the above poll, what do you think should happen with the PM-73, this rather forgotten weapon.
-
Military weapons IMHO should not spawn with any magazines, you'd still need to find the magazines for them. However, I would like to see a chance for Civilian weapons to spawn magazines in the gun themselves here's what I would like to see: Pistols Makarov P1 Amphibia S 1911Rifles Ruger 10/22 - Only really spawns with the 10 round magazine by default. CR527 CarbineSMG PM-73 RAK - Only spawns with 15 round magazines at a rare chance

It may have been suggest before but all current searches towards "light sources" and just "Candles" in general hasn't turned up much. Basically put, given the rural area and the current populace being a post soviet state, wouldn't it be still fairly common to encounter wax candles? They don't give alot of light but you can stack them in the inventory and even prop them around a house or a building, or even set them up as waypoints in the darkness. They can come in different sizes and you could even find a Candle Lantern which would allow you to carry it around at night with it blowing out in the wind. Additionally the addition of the old style Oil lanterns which can run on practically anything flammable could be another unique addition, they could run off lighter fluid, kerosene, gasoline. And you could even find some "static" oil lamp inside houses which can give some natural light providing you have fuel source.

Well while there's the ural truck, I don't see why we cant have the Ural Motorcyle
