    water backpack

Been suggested before, idea before though was that it could be stored inside a backpack and allow the player to drink while on the move. I think that it's a nice idea just have to wait and see at this point.

    Fishing rod's

What should occur is that while yes you could make a fishing rod from different materials other than just the ashwood stick, it should mean that the item in this case a fishing rod should break more easily. So if I combine some rope with a wooden stick to make an Improvised Fishing Rod that should break much quicker than what a version made with the Ashwood stick. The same should also be applied to the Bow, in that different materials means it has different strengths (from overall "power" to durability)

Apartments are very inconvenient places to loot.

Agreed on the melee weapons, I think these would be suitable for spawning in apartment buildings: Baseball BatPipe WrenchCrowbarBrass KnucklesBroomFire ExtinguisherOld Hockey StickLead PipeHammer (NOT Sledgehammer)Hunting KnifeKitchen KnifeSteak KnifeLug WrenchScrew DriverI'm still not quite on-board with apartments spawning pistols but I did think what if they spawned the sawn off versions of some guns? Like the IZH-43 or the Sawn off Mosin?

    So you want more diseases?

From what I've found from talking from a fellow cholera survivor, he mentions that at the time he was very low on blood after a gunfight and drinking from a pond until he met up with his friend about half an hour later. He mentioned before that while he was in the "Healthy" status he did not catch anything. I can surmise that you'll catch Cholera when your low on blood.

Apartments are very inconvenient places to loot.

I agree with you in regards to the amount of Civilian loot that should spawn in apartments but I think largely only melee weapons should spawn there and have a very low chance for spawning basic rifles and shotguns and no pistols whatsoever. I'm thinking maybe a low chance to spawn either a Sporter, Trumpet, Izh-43, Crossbow or when they add it the Izh-18 single shot rifle.. I almost never loot apartments (despite them previously being one of the few places where Tents regularly spawn)

Change the contents of 1st Aid Kits

I suppose your right, although just having a much larger roll of bandage which can be used more often seems as another solution to a popular medical item. Afterall if one large roll of bandage that can be used 8 times at once, it will make a fantastic item to find, especially when your a storage nut like myself where every little bit of space counts.

    Professional Fishing

Couldn't agree more, while not an avid fisherman, I do own three fishing rods (two for freshwater fish, one for Salt Water). I think that players should be able to come across not only fishing rods (complete with reels) but also Fishing Tackle boxes which can double up as storage boxes. For example, a small fishing tackle box could be a 3x1 slot item holding 6 items (such as hooks, spare line, lures, bait etc). I'd Love as well they added three types of fishing rod, an old styled freshwater match rod, a sea worthy fishing rod (which is much stronger and doesn't wear down as quickly) and a small telescopic rod which can be collapsed for storage (but is the weakest of three).

Change the contents of 1st Aid Kits

Band-Aids (like 20): Couldn't agree more, if anything I'd say have them at a random amount instead (say like between 10 and 50)Bandages and dressings (like 4): Personally I think we should stick to the wrap bandages but have an optional larger "Gauze" type bandage that can be used more often (compared to the "regular" bandage's 4 uses, the larger one could provide 8 uses)ACE Bandage (like 1): Agreed, we need more splints which are not just made from rags and sticks.Low-grade painkillers, and assorted medication (antihistamines, electrolyte tablets, etc). - Caffiene Tablets to provide an energy boost, Ibuprofen/Paracetamol/Asprin as the low case painkillersTriple-Antibiotic ointment: Also agree, need something that you need to apply to a wound, even if you were to apply it "after" applying a bandage (such as is the case when you need to bandage during a firefight and cant apply ointment first hand)Either hand sanitizer, or a small bar of soap: Or a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide, will sting like hell but will certainly clear the wound area of infection. I think there defiantly needs to be more styles of first aid kit as well a variety of medical supplies, there are also alot of medical items currently that don't do anything. The injection vials, painkillers and Syringe's currently serve no real purpose. Some other stuff I think we could do for in terms of medical supplies: Anti-Septic Wipes - Used to clean a wound prior to treatment, reduces infection chancePoultice - A home-made bandage that can be used to stem infection.Anti-Septic Bandage - A bandage which has anti-septic qualities and prevents infection, rarer than regular bandages.Tourniquet - Can be home-made or found in Hospitals, can be used in moments of severe bleeding.Triangular bandage - Can be used as a regular bandage or applied to arm injuries (as a makeshift sling)Military Field Dressing - Military field dressing that can be found at Military Locations, often performs a similar role to the Anti-Septic Bandage but can be used more than once. Also think we need more in terms of first aid kit variety, some examples: Personal First Aid Kit - Appears as a small white case or a green pouch, pocket size this 2x1 container holds 4 spaces for medical items. Stores primarily two bandages and some plasters. Soft Bag First Aid Kit - The current first aid kit we have now, holds 6 medical items. Hard Case First Aid Kit - A hard plastic green case that holds 8 slots for medical items. Takes a 3x3 slot in the inventory. Doctors Bag - Found in Medical Clinics and Hospitals, rarely found in residential locations, appears as a leather bound case, holds only 8 items like the hardcase but spawns rarer medical loot such as Saline/Blood Bags, IV Start Kits and Morphine. Trauma Kit - Only found in hospitals, a Trauma bag belonging to paramedic's. This bag holds 16 medical items and will spawn the rarer medical loot such as Saline Bags, Defibs, Blood Bags, IV Start Kits, Epi-Pen and Morphine in addition to regular medical items. It could also function as a backpack. Military Field Medical Kit - A military issue medical bag that holds 20 medical items but takes alot of inventory space (equivelant to a backpack). Again spawns rarer medical loot such as Blood Bag, Saline Bags, IV Start Kits, Epi-Pen, Defib and Morphine. Can be worn as a backpack as well.
  9. So as it stands we all know that the Coast is a relatively dangerous hotspot, we all spawn there (usually), virtually devoid of anything useful right off the bat apart from stones. So I got to thinking, surely there could be ways we could make coasts better for Survival. Coasts are natural treasure troves for junk and coastal wildlife. Your bound to find something that has washed up ashore. Here's some ideas to make coasts more appealing for a would be survivor. Shellfish - Things like Mussels, Limpets, Razorclams and Cockles can all be found on the coast, Mussels and Cockles can be found attached to seaweed, limpets can be found attached to rocks (which need a bladed weapon to remove, such as an improvised knife) and Razorclams can be dug up from the sand. While they still need to be cooked to be considered safe to eat, they are none the less a still viable and renewable food source. Crabs - Found in Rock pools, small crabs can be collected and eaten when cooked. Seaweed - Can be found randomly on the coast, Seaweed can be used as an improvised fertilizer. Driftwood - Large sections of driftwood could be found on the coast, used in a similar manner to firewood. Junk Piles - A player can find junk piles which they can search, they often leave damaged or badly damaged items that a player can forage for, beware the chance of injury is possible (such as cutting yourself on a piece of glass)

    new pistol

I don't think they were scared to begin with, I think the large problem that persists is that their tweaking the values of calibers, hence why 12 Gauge Slugs were removed from the loot tables and the Mosin used 7,62x51mm because it was largely a place holder. Thank god that at least in 0.55, the Mosin now takes it's proper 7,62x54mmR ammunition while the Blaze and Longhorn now use .308 Winchester ammunition. Moreover what would the 7,62x25mm be in terms of it's spawn location? I doubt it would be considered military as these rounds were considered obsolete by the time the Makarov appeared, Residential and Police perhaps? A number of surplus models are always available. Hell Militia groups are still using the PPSh-41. Also I'm totally thinking the VSS and any other 9x39mm rifle will strictly be an Eastern Crash Site Spawn instead of general military, don't want a bunch of guys running around with potentially integrally suppressed select fire sniper rifles

    Wooden Makarov Grips - Attachment

Or better yet what about a unique variant? The 1911 has a unique variant, so why not have the IJ-70 be featured with classic bakelite grips as a alternative slight rarer version?

Pistol suppressor for Trumpet and Sporter

In practice when playing with a squad of friends, there always had been at least one guy armed with a sporter because it is a great ranged weapon for dealing with zombies. Given that in the future more zombies will spawn in larger numbers the sporter is more a great utility weapon at removing Zombies. I'm all for a "rarer" tactical version of the standard Sporter that accepts a threaded barrel (for pistol suppressors), a rail for Western styled Scopes and maybe even a pistol grip and a folding stock. The folding stock and pistol grip would allow it to be stored in a backpack (although only the larger Mountain Backpack will fit it to balance it out amongst the SMG's and the Trumpet)

    Abandoned Places

Couldn't agree more, there needs to be more in terms of buildings overgrown in nature, those which are decrepit, worn down and filled full of natural life. Some examples: One place I certainly LONG to find is Abandoned Mansions, Hotels and Country Estates which have long been abandoned (maybe even spawning unique loot).

    Add few more survival items

Multi-Tools and Swiss Army Knives should spawn primarily at Residential and Industrial Locations. Swiss Army knives should be common, the most basic types normally just have a small knife (a 2" blade and a 1" blade) and a Can Opener/Bottle Opener. Multi-Tools would be significantly rarer for balance reasons but function like a 1 slot toolbox, they have a screwdriver, pliers, saw, 1 or 2 Knives (of different blade lengths) and a can opener/Bottle Opener. In my opinion, Swiss Army Knives and Multi-Tools should function like most tools, when used in an action in crafting or use on an item it naturally degrades it's status from Pristine to Worn to Damaged and Ruined etc. There should be three types of "Lighter" all of which are found at Residential Areas. Cheap knockoff brands which are disposable and spawn with a random percentage of fuel, once used up can be discarded and cannot be refilled. Refillable Gas Lighters which require a Butane Can to refill can be found as well, they are slightly rarer but can be reused. Zippo's should be the "Ultimate" Lighter in that you can use anything flammable to fuel them, from Gasoline, Kerosene or High Proof Alochol (such as the Alcohol Tincture) There should not be one of these hollywood style Survival Knives as mentioned above, instead a true "Survival" knife should be something like a wood or rubber handled Knife like a Morakniv Knife or a Swiss Scout Knife. Flint Sticks should be added as a source of fire lighting without having to resort to Matches. Additionally different types of Matches should exist in-game, from the common wood and cardboard matches to the slightly less common windproof and Waterproof matches. Miniature Survival Kits can be featured as a rare loot drop in Military Structures, these small metal tins hold a small array of survival gear. A Magnifying Glass should be added as another means to start a fire while in direct sunlight. Alternatively, one can use a lens from a set of glasses as well. In regards to Watches, in my personal opinion Watches should be fairly diverse, common Civilian style watches are the classic style or Digital Style. Civilian Watches should damage easily and are not very weatherproof nor water resistant. "Military" style watches should incorporate damage and weather resistance qualities and perhaps even incorporate an inbuilt compass to justify them being rare.

    Tarpaulins & Stashes Idea

Just something I thought could be added and potentially used in-game in various forms through crafting. A Tarpaulin or Tarp is a sheet of strong water-resistant or waterproof material made out of cloth canvas, polyester urethane or plastic polyethylene. It comes in a sheet of various sizes and materials, each one could be used for a different purpose or have a unique set of crafting properties. Types Cloth Canvas (coloured Olive Green or Brown) Polyester Urethane/Plastic Polyethylene (colored Blue, Yellow/Orange, Lime Green, Silver, Red and Purple Military Tarpaulin (extra strength, colored in a military camo pattern) General Crafting ideas for Tarpaulin of all types Tarpaulin Shelter - An improvised shelter made out of an Ashwood Stick, some Rocks, Wooden Sticks, Rope, Duct Tape and a Tarpaulin. Is like the regular camping tent but holds less items and the items are prone to damage from the elements without proper protection first. The material of it's construction determines how effective it is at shielding you and your items from the elements. Cloth Canvas Tarps for example are water-resistant but not waterproof while plastic and urethane are water-proof. Tarpaulin Courier Bag - With some Rope and a sheet of Tarpaulin, one can make an improvised courier bagAdvanced Crafting ideas for Tarpaulin MillBank Bag - With a knife and a Cloth Canvas Tarpaulin, it can be cut down into a smaller pieces of which can be crafted with some rope and duct tape into a millbank bag. This is a water purification item which slowly purifies water over a period of time. For example, 1 bottle of dirty water can be "purified" with 2 hours of game time.Stash - Tarpaulins can be an element of "Stashes" which were featured in the mod as an element of secret item storage for players. Tarpaulins can be used to prevent items becoming damaged. More info below.Stashes The second idea relates to adding "Stashes" from the Mod into Standalone. For those that don't know, in the modification players could construct a "Stash" from small to Medium which acted as a form of underground storage which was incredibly hard to spot by players (of which only the person who created it, would know it's location or those with keen eyesight). It ties in with the above idea of Tarpaulins. In the standalone I believe you could create three versions, Small, Medium and Large with the following materials. However, to balance things out from Tents, Stashes would naturally degrade items over time with water damage or be completely ruined if left for an extended period of time if they don't have the proper materials in their construction. Small - Crafted using a Burlap sack and Duct Tape, a player will dig a small hole in the ground with their hands and place a burlap sack in the hole, covering it over with soil. It will show up in world as a small mound of loose soil. A player can then deposit upto 12 items (same as a courier bag) into the stash. However, items will degrade with time from water damage. Only a small protector case will prevent items from being damaged but only upto 1 Case can be added to the stash for balance reasons.Medium - Crafted using a Tarpaulin, Rope and Duct Tape providing the player has a shovel, they can create a Medium Stash. It will show up in-world as a large patch of loose soil. It holds upto 20 slots. Items are damaged overtime should the Tarpaulin be a Canvas type but the rate of damage will be much slower with a plastic tarpaulin. Additional elements can be added such as grass for better camouflage.Large - Crafted using 2x Firewood, 2x Wooden Sticks, Duct Tape and Rope providing the player has a Shovel. The player will create a large stash that can hold upto 30 slots worth of items. The Large appears as a mound of soil, with what looks like some logs and sticks poking out of it (it looks more like a concealed trapdoor). Items inside will be water damaged over time but it can be prevented by adding 2x plastic Tarpaulins inside. Additionally, Grass and Grass Wraps can be added to further improve camouflage.Images: Small Large

rare items ///// don't just make it military gear

I for one would want rarer variations of existing civilian weapons, for example they already made an Engraved 1911 which is rarer than the default weapon but only offers a cosmetic difference or the MP-133 Pistol Grip. More rarer variations of existing civilian weapons with engravings is always welcome, versions that have been adapted, for example a Blaze with a permanently attached Scope like the Longhorn. As for items I'd ultra rare but unique clothing items, for example a Circus Clowns Outfit or a Street Performer. Food items could exist such as collector brand items such as alcohol, a very rare bottle of expensive brandy (that before the apocalypse would've cost $1000).
  17. Draco122

    Eggs

So something as a food source that is renewable is Chicken Eggs, it also opens up options for future recipes in cooking. Players could find Chicken eggs as a low chance drop inside chicken coops and players could also find an egg when they harvest a chicken. Eggs could be stacked upto 3 per slot and give a large boost in energy, however eating them raw runs the risk of getting sick and could be a renewable source of cookable food.
  18. Draco122

    Eggs

It would taste very much like a chicken egg, only they'd be smaller in size. There's not much different in "taste" compared to other eggs, if anything different eggs would likely yield more when cracked open onto a frying pan. For example a Crow egg would be slightly smaller than a chicken egg, but a Duck or even a goose egg would be much larger and therefore yield more. I could imagine that later in development, different eggs could stack upto different sizes, so a Crow or a Qauil egg could stack upto 8 due to their size while a larger goose egg takes up a whole inventory slot. I also thought of ways they could be used as well with different cooking items. Frying pans can be used to make the traditional sunny side up eggs (which will degrade quickly to the spoiled status), Scrambled Eggs or Omelet. Cooking Pots can make Hardboiled Eggs which will degrade very slowly and act like a percentage item, in that they can be eaten in stages.

A new sniper rifle and a new LRS

Now what would be interesting to see is Sporterized Military Rifles, take the mosin for example and convert it to a Sporter style stock to make it seem less military and more civilian hunting rifle. Other rifles include the Kar98K and the Lee Enfield. Mosin Nagant Sporter Lee Enfield Sporter
  20. Draco122

    New backpack?

Couldn't agree more, this game needs more "traditional" backpacks in general besides the Taloon ones we have currently. A more black, grey and brown coloration. The bag you should could be considered more of a "Modern Schoolbag" or something
  21. Draco122

A new sniper rifle and a new LRS

Personally I'd like less military sniper rifles and more hunting rifles, by all means add the SVD providing it's about as rare if not rarer than the AKM/AK-74. Often times firefights seem alot more interesting when your shooting each other with guns you can easily acquire from a gunstore.
  22. Draco122

    improvised silencer repair with tape

Realistically speaking .22 caliber weapons will benefit the most from improvised suppressors, so it's believable that they can last 6-7 shots on .22 weapons.
  23. Draco122

Hiding under beds and in other places.

By going prone and "sidecrawling" I believe players should easily be able to get underneath a bed, in addition it might make it easier to grab loot from under a bed
  24. I do agree that the vest should provide a certain amount of resistance to rounds although if it did I would certainly make it so that the the Plates and Plate Carrier are seperate, meaning survivors will need to find good quality plates in order to get the full protection.
  25. Draco122

    Pack covers

Combine Wire/Rope with a Raincoat to make an improv pack cover that wraps around the backpack your wearing. However, you have to remove the cover first if you want anything in your backpack.
