I could see Kicking bodies as a means to kill unconscious players without a sound or wasting a potential bullet. I think if you need to check if someone is unconscious, the current system where you must manually check via pulse is more preferred and a much more realistic option. Additionally I think that "Kicking" should also increase the chance of injuring ones leg if it fails to connect and hit a static object. I'd imagine trying to kick someone and accidently hitting a rock would likely cause some broken bones (while certainly not breaking a leg, but certainly near that regard)

I see I see, well it might go well for a future suggestion, maybe adding some form of Single shot rifle to the game at a later date. Overall I'm generally in the boat for seeing more Civilian Target and Hunting firearms over Police and Military issue weapons sans some pre-war military surplus
-
I'm confused greatly by your post, likely through your poorly constructed grammar and inability to spell "people". Last time I checked, DayZ wasn't a war simulator and I don't know any conflicts which used the 1894 in the present day. Yes it can murder and kill people but so can the other billion different ways to kill someone. I'm sure if someone tried they could kill someone with a can opener in DayZ (which they apparently have made that a possibility) Right now what I DO KNOW is that the Marlin 1894 is a rifle that is popular in many areas for target shooting and hunting and in some places self defence, especially when chambered for a common cartridge like the .357 giving it much versatility in a world like DayZ
-
Appreciate the feedback, I wasn't exactly sure of how much gain a .357 magnum carbine has over a pistol. I suggested the 1894 because well I like the 1894 personally but I'm fine with settling with a 1892 or a clone there of. Funny thing is, Google seems to think those "Tang sights" are vernier, I guess Google isn't always right.

So lets just take out the M1911, Colt Python, FNX45, M4, Ruger 10/22, Ruger Mark 2 and have everyone run around with Mosin's, SKS's, Shotguns and Blasers because its too "American". You'd be surprised what firearms exist outside of America in Eastern Europe, granted they wouldn't be as common but they certainly would not be non-existent in the region Edit: I can imagine you were one of those bandits in the mod version on the hill shooting New spawns with a .50 Cal because you thought you were that l33t m3ga sniper that didn't have anything better to do than piss other people off. You say no to a perfectly fine Civilian Rifle and then contradict yourself by asking to add high powered military anti-tank rifles and Suppressed Assault Rifles. You basically shot yourself in the foot with that suggestion.
-
Actually they do though normally most die from severe burns and unless it's a headshot it won't be an instant kill, but it will inflict some serious damage at close range. Look at these videos and you'll see why!

Who wants to see more Shotguns than any other weapons
Draco122 replied to Pokerguy12's topic in Suggestions
The Blaze is more a rifle and there's no shame in having a little bit more variety is there? -
In my opinion stuff inside police stations should include unique styles of police uniform which aren't as "durable" as military gear but still possess's a similar level of versatility, for example: Some examples of some Russian styled police uniforms:

Who wants to see more Shotguns than any other weapons
Draco122 replied to Pokerguy12's topic in Suggestions
In my opinion we need more "Hunting" class shotguns than Police and Military issue. Right now I think the game would go so much further if we had shotguns with a limited magazine capacity. What makes most fire fights fun for me is when you get into those fights where you know that your oppenant only has 1 or 2 shots before needing to reload, while those two shots are indeed powerful, it means it's so much more tense when you just know that your oppenant is open to an attack if he fires more than 2 shots. Shotguns also need more variety in terms of what ammunition they use, while 12 Gauge is indeed the most common, I'd say that adding 20 Gauge and even .410 shotgun ammo is needed. In addition, something alot more powerful, like a 10 Gauge for example could also be added. So here's my suggestions for more shotguns: Single Barreled breech loader Shotguns - Single barrel, breech loaders, no snap caps or speed loaders, just loads a single shell at a timeOver & Under Double Barrel Shotgun - An over & under style double barrel shotgunSide by Side Drilling - A unique form of shotgun, a standard side by side double barrel shotgun with an added benefit of a single shot rifle barrelLong barreled Pump Actions - The long barrel limits it's effectiveness in close quarters but it benefits from having greater range, capacity of 3 or 5 rounds (R870 or Mossberg 500A or Russian equivalent)Semi-automatic Hunting shotguns - With a capacity of 3 or 4 roundsCompact Police Shotguns - Only has a pistol grip with the option to find a folding stock, high recoil but shorter dimensions means possible storage, carries between 5 rounds or 6.Military issue Semi-automatic - High powered Military issue shotgun with a high capacity of 8 rounds (Saiga maybe)The attachments I think for shotguns should consist of Chokes (which determine how wide or tight the shot spread is), folding stocks (for Police and Military type shotguns) as well as the ability to use a hacksaw on most of the civilian types, cutting the barrel and stock down to make 'em smaller and easier to store at the expense of range, recoil and spread -
I think adding both the classic wool scarfs and shemagh scarf which is getting surprisingly popular in many regions should be added. Wool scarfs should be an assortment of colours and always provide an extra added layer of "warmth" Shemagh scarfs should offer an element of camoflauge due to their designs (especially if you get a olive green or dark green version) I think also that the current "bandana"'s should have an option to wear on the face as a mask, like how some LA gangsters wear or something along that line

So I thought to myself, currently the M4 is the only current "most customizable weapon" in the game at the moment, so I thought what kind of attachments could we add to these Warsaw pact weapons of the former soviet union? Overall I simply think there is just too many Backpacks and Rucksacks (and for the uneducated, a Backpack is Small for something like a day out on a walk or at a job and a Rucksack is large for camping/hunting/hiking etc for a few days). So I'd like to suggest alternative options for storage that we may find in the world. First up, the fanny pack, extremely small, worn around the waist, holds probably 4-6 items at most. Comes in a variety of colours. Second, the Shoulder bag, a canvas shoulder bag such as this should be a similar alternative to the Childs Backpack, a 12 slot storage item which is carried along the characters side usually slung over a shoulder. Third, the Suitcase, holds anywhere from 20-30 items at a time but cannot be carried on the persons back, instead the person must equip it in their hands in order to carry it around. With some "modification" with ducktape and some rope, they could craft an improvised backpack by tying the suitcase to a persons back (but they still need to "equip" it in order to access their loot. Fourth, is the Duffel Bag, even bigger than the Suitcase in storage capacity, but still requiring a person to equip it to carry it and store items. Again some modification with duct tape and rope can craft a few straps to carry it hands free (but it sticks out like a sore thumb). Finally is the topic of Stashes, like in the Mod a player could create a stash using an entrenching tool and some sandbags for this I propose something different. Players can use a combination of a shovel combined with either a burlap sack for a small stash (12 items) or a suitcase (20 items) for a medium stash.

My question for THAT is WHY you'd want to sawn off a $7000 rifle! I could see it with a shotgun but with the B95... that's just sacrilegious!
-
I'd also say that the LRS is more suited as an attachment for the B95 as that features mounting grooves for most modern long range scopes. I wouldn't say that the SKS shouldnt have anymore attachments I just think they don't need anymore optical attachments as the PU scope is fine. I would say that it IS possible to get an SKS with a FIXED 20 round magazine (which takes two stripper clips to reload) and a special SKS type 30 round AKM magazine which can be removed. Now I don't know how well they'd work with surplus Russian SKS weapons as these two attachments are normally used on the Chinese copy of the SKS. Additionally another attachment I could see working, is a stripper clip pouch for mounting on the stock of the weapon, such as this one: It could potentially hold 4 Stripper clips of ammunition or 4 slots for ammunition only and have it immediatly attached to the weapon to allow saving valuable inventory space AND allow for quick reloading on the fly (without having to find the bullets in your inventory)

Granted I do wish that Rope and Sacks could spawn more often, equally so I wish Sticks could be harvested from trees but in reality alot of the time you do find these items when a server first starts, thing is that everyone loots everything when the server restarts so unless you spawn in just as a server starts your not likely to find much on the coast unless you go further inland and search the "odd" towns.

A more realistic "Small" helicopter that would fit Chernarus better in my opinion would be a civilian or surplus military variant of the Mil Mi-2 seen here: There could still exist the Bell 206 and another helicopter I'd love to see is the Bell 47 also seen here:
-
Something I think NEEDS to be addressed for the next future patch is the addition of harvesting sticks from tree's, currently it's annoying to have to find one of THE most common items in world which is made excessively rare through the game. As a whole, I think one of the priority's that are needed for DayZ is to allow the players to harvest perhaps one of the most critical crafting items in medical aid. Choose which priority you think that "Harvest Sticks" is required for the next update.
-
I think overall, this would be better addressed once we can actually Harvest sticks from Trees by chopping at them with a bladed melee weapon. It just gets absurd where I gotta find sticks in a barn or some random house when I just got my legs broken while in the middle of a FOREST!

Something I found strange was finding .45 ACP rounds in Residential locations despite the fact that the only .45 caliber pistol in the game was the FNX45. So I'd like to suggest this pistol, another Revolver to be added. The Colt New Service in .45 ACP: It would spawn in Residential Buildings and like the Colt Python, hold 6 rounds. It would come with two additional reload based attachments. A Full Moon Clip (Full 6 rounds) and a Half Moon clip (3 Rounds)
-
The Colt New Service and the M1917 are the same gun, just the M1917 is the Military version
-
Normally I don't make these but I figured I'd lay out my own personal wishlist of available sidearms for the standalone. Makarov PM Makarov PMM Fort-12 Stechkin APS Walther P-38 or post-world war 2 P1 Browning Hi-Power Beretta 92FS CZ-75B Glock 17 GSh-18 M1911 SIG P220 TT-33 CZ-52 M1917 Smith & Wesson Model 10HB Smith & Wesson No.3 Russian Model Ruger Super Redhawk Nagant M1895 Thompson Center Arms G2 Contender Orion Flare Gun H&K P2A1 Flare Gun
-
Just not realistic? Hmmm last time I checked, I don't think their exists that many FNX 45 handguns and Colt Python revolvers for sale in a post-soviet state. I count 7 western weapons of American origin (all of which barring the S&W Russian Model 3) are extremely common and well known, the rest are of a European or Eastern European origin. If anything this list would be more along the lines of realism. For example, the M1911 and the 92FS (NOT the US M9 version) are seen worldwide by a dozen of different security forces, granted it wouldn't be as common as some of the other pistols of the Eastern European origin but you can't discount the fact their global popularity could be seen as far as Russia and other Eastern European states.
-
This was suggested in another thread a little while back, in that thread they suggested using Junk items like Empty Tin can's to collect rain water. I suggested having a "steel bucket" item which can be found in-game and takes 4x4 slots or 6x6 slots (depending on size), it can be placed to collect rain water when properly cleaned and would certainly catch more water than what an empty tin can or a bottle of water could.
-
The Browning Hi-Power I can agree with as a weapon for the game, while not completely "western" (the Hi-Power was originally made by FN Herstal, Belgium) I believe the Hi-Power can be a decent weapon to be found in Police Stations. But largely I believe we should focus primarily on the British equipment as opposed to weapons. For example, the classic British Army Yoke is a personal load carrying equipment which can have pouches added on for additional storage. I believe that the Yoke should be added as a standalone piece of kit, and additional pouches can be added accordingly upto a maximum of 10 pouches. Each pouch would vary on space and some are made specifically for certain items (a first aid pouch holds first aid items, a utility pouch holds utility items etc)
-
I think as far as "advanced" water containers go, things like a plastic barrel would be better and somewhat easier to transport if someone was doing a more permanent base. Alternatively, there exists something called a Millbank Bag which acts as a water filter and can easily be used to collect rainwater for people who prefer to stay mobile. It would also depend on how MUCH rain, whether it would be a light shower to a thunderous storm. There should also be a chance for the container being "knocked over" due to the harsh weather. An empty tin can or empty water bottle will be easily blown around by a strong wind while other items can be secured with rocks to weight them down and significantly reduce the chance.
