Thanks for the reply! How would killing rights work in the following situations? I'm looting a town, encounter a guy in a house. Engage in communication, tell him that i'm friendly and ask him to come out of the house without weapons in hands. He comes out with his weapon/takes it out while we are talking. As a lone wolf this means that he gonna shoot me with a high degree of certainty, and I will have to shoot him as a self defense purpose as soon as I notice the weapon out. (I saw on your rules that if someone doesn't obey a command, he can be killed. Also how does that "take out weapon by mistake" thing works? because I've been shot several times by people saying that just before killing me). I'm running around a town, and see a couple of cannibals that just killed (or are playing weird stuff with him) a guy. They outnumber me, have better gear, but didn't noticed I'm there. In DUG I would just shot them because if I move they'll notice me, and I will not just stay there 20min waiting for them to eat the guy. Does this go against KOS rules ?. I'm in the forest, and hear shots. There are some factions in warfare around me. Confusion everywhere, I can get shot by anyone there. If someone spots me and I spot him, in a normal situation I would try to shot him and run away, because they gonna think Im an enemy in a territory where aggressive acts have been committed and KOS me. Because I mostly play a lone wolf (have no one to play with, but a guy I met that lives near my area in Chernarus), and that are the only kind of situations where I would probably end up (and already experienced them).

As I said, the build is old (0.45 I believe), so the lack of shadows is probably a legacy graphic engine defect.

That screenshot is from a modded (pirate) SA version. The quality is poor because they use an old game build (with the old legacy graphic engine) that was leaked a couple of years ago, the AI will be different too I guess, since those versions usually have their own dev team, and use old Arma models. Wolves in SA gonna be a lot more detailed and cool, you can check the videos of them that were updated a couple of days ago.

I've seen that in Arma 3 some servers use a plugin called "task radio force" (or something like that, can't recall the name atm), that makes users enter a TS server, that uses ingame data about the location of the players, and the devices they use to communicate all the players that are connected to the server. It can also be some kind of solution. But as Radi said: If a server appears with the mic-on option, I would gladly join it :) -
Yay, nice content. The only thing that seemed a little bit off was the terror atmosphere for the survival tips :), it gives the impression that some parts are oversaturated with things. A voice narration would help too! Keep the way bro.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic about that. A discussion like this brought me into 1pp, when I thought that 3pp was "THA THING", a decision that I'm not regretting at all (now only play 1pp). The more a topic is discussed, the more people's attention it catches, and then you only need that a couple of talented guys/girls get into it, and we will have some really good HC mods or servers out there. At the same time, with new people discussing the same problem, more opinions, pov, solutions emerge from it, and maybe, only maybe one of these will catch the interest of devs. -

I think that if you can see better in 3pp, you should also hear better in 1pp. The difference would be that in 3pp you are looking at the game as a floating camera, and sounds should be more dispersed because of this. Once you're "inside your character head" you should have a clear 3D sound perception of what's happening around you (what you lose in vision, you gain in sound detection). It would also correlate well with the current heavy breathing issue and both would neutralize themselves in some situations where, as mentioned before, a running player would have an advantage over a sitting one. -
Yeah, the video Idea is good. I bet if you guys open a volunteer thread for people willing to help you editing it, you will get a good load of hands to finish it faster and for free or pretty cheaply, for the love to the game :)

This, make 1pp somehow different, richer than 3pp (since it's the character direct experience). And I would also add that sound perception in 1pp should be more precise and developed better than in 3pp. -

Have no idea about their health status. The first one was about 10m away from me, when i started shooting at him, saw blood but didn't heard anything because of the rifle sounds. He had some gear on top of him. The second one could've been weak tho, i didn't had a magazine so i just shot with the only bullet I had in the gun lol. Probably just Dayz gods repaying their previous bad lol And didn't know all that facts lol Hope they fix that soon, bullets shouldn't have anything to do with your health status. -

just avoid pvp and shooting people. You never know what your bullets gonna do. hahaha Yesterday I died after unloading a whole ak magazine into a guy, and he was still alive afaik. When spawned in the coast, found an amphibia and some ammo, 15min later a guy appeared out of nowhere with a fire extinguisher, killed him with a single shot in the chest LOL -

Lol, in which server you play? I'm playing hardcore servers only, and didn't had a comedy interaction since I started there. The road would be a good one to add to my lists too, but there is too much food and weapons ingame for that. -
Does anyone knows what are the plans for light sources in nighttime in the future? I´ve noticed ( experimenting in an empty night time server) that light sources at the moment are like 2x 3x or more intense than in real life: -A small flashlight can illuminate a whole room, when IRL it only has a weak beam that barely show what´s in front of you. -Gas lamps can illuminate a whole street, when IRL you can only read a book if you´re directly close to it -A small fireplace looks like the giant pile of books burnt by the nazis, illuminating like 50m around. IRL its barely noticeable beyond 2-3m -Flares look like a super nova in the middle of space :) Will be the intensity polished in the future to adapt the sources to their supposed real lumen values?

I think it was mentioned that the distances of infected spawning would make it impossible for players to know if they spawned there when they arrived or where already there in the first place. Now I don´t know how infected from other players will spawn in case of a player already being in the area??? If i´m looting cherno for example and killed 3-4 infected in a street, and a player gets closer to my area, will HIS infected spawn out of nowhere in front of me giving a hint about the other player approaching?? Because It could be used for metagaming, like the lag that happens when someone spawns near you, or enters your area. (which is easily distinguishable from connection lag) -

It's a shame that the technical side limit the infected so much. The ideal situation would be to have so much infected in towns that trying to "clean" them out would be a suicide mission and a waste of ammo (which should be really scarce). -

Now that I think about it, it would be cool to be able to have temporary 3pp pov in 1pp servers to check your character WITH occlusion. 1. This would add 1pp servers more entertainment capabilities for video production (3pp atm allow a wider array of pov to make your videos), which in addition would make 1pp servers more popular due the exposure from the video people. One would be able to make some takes with the character running with a beautiful background view, plus adding 3pp pov for storytelling while getting ready to scout a town, etc. Right now 1pp is limited a.f. for video production 2. Would help adding some variability to the hours one spend running in woods, letting you at least check the sunset while you do so, etc. -

It isn't possible to spawn infected in the client side AND inside the server at the same time? Could client side infected be recognized by other clients that they come in contact with, without making the server manging them? Or adding infected that don't use so much AI resources and are "dumber" Sorry if the questions are dumb. I'm just curious about mechanics behind that, because if player number go 80+ the current quantity of infected would be too small (like one comes across some of them in big cities and that's all, there isn't any in towns or in open fields :/), although adding some new types would help with the difficulty (in theory), don't know if it would help with the encounters with them in most cities/towns. -
Since sometimes is pretty hard to come upon a barrel to be able to paint the armbands, or to find the bandana/facemask of the color you need, It would be cool to be able to use shirts, t-shirts, burlap sacks , and even some camo rags from hunting jackets as material for bandanas, face masks and armbands. At least making a bandana from a t-shirt should be basic and available for everyone (like in real life) :) This way we would also be able to have colors that aren't accessible through dying! If this was already suggested, please inform me and I'll delete the post!

I believe that adding a guitar as item and and some animations of the character playing it would be a great addition to the game atmosphere. Bet many of us know how to play, and would be amazing to be able to share some songs at a campfire in a raining night in dayz. I remember back in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. days one would get into a town and find a friendly group telling some jokes and playing some cool songs :) Actually I found a video to just show you what I mean!
