  2. @mullo Yeah, as you need to be always on the lookout in Dayz, first person makes it more difficult in a way. Try out that 3rd part Dayz SA launcher. It works good as it automatically downloads and installs the mods you need for that particular server when you click play. Today I proceeded from Cherno to old Balota airstrip, visiting again after a long time. There's tents on both sides of the big hangar, the side of the strip closer to the coast. Found a bunch of FNXs and SG5s with mags and ammo, already had that pistol suppressor that fits both of those. Found an AK suppressor too. Plenty of infected with loot both civilian and military so I played around with them as they kept respawning. Cans of food and drinks too. Deers were around at the time so I'm stacked with venison and lard for the whole winter.

    Nah wasn't asking about that, I'm aware of it and yeah, that's all true you said. I guess it's still too big of a bite for developers and I believe it's the size of the team not the competence. It's just that there was always one proper way of reporting and helping address the issue sooner. And then there's that tone of useless or humorous banter without much focus on what is wrong actually. That was the way the alpha and beta progress went on and, in small part at least, resulted in bugs we still have today in 1.0. Most just wanted to play the game before the release but failed to play the game AND report properly whenever something went wrong. This is also why games go early access at half a price or less, to get the invaluable feedback that the usually very small testing teams can't get to the developers Cheerz!.

Yeah but forums are really hard to follow for everyone, not just devs. Many other games' communities even after they release a 1.0 game have to make new patches according to the feedback from the players regarding bugs or game balance. You need to be specific so they can track the problem and patch it. This is how it's done here: You go to Feedback tracker at this link, and create an account there if you don't have one already. If you scroll down, you will see that people are constantly posting all kinds of bugs and issues, so you can see how it's done. You can also find tab/button for Feedback website on this forum, top left corner. So, once you have created your account, on your upper right part of the screen there is a star icon. Click on that, and you will get a pull-down menu. From there select New Dayz PC Bug report (I'm assuming you're playing on PC). Then, write the title name and a description what is happening with as much info as possible. Maybe separate this what you wrote here in two or three different reports, for a specific problem separately. If you can repeat the problem always, write the steps for devs how to do it themselves and then they can try to solve it. To make it easy on you maybe also post a link to this topic with screenshots you have already created but I'm not sure if it's good enough. Bugs with cars, items and body positioning etc. are old actually. The devs pretty much know about it all and work on the bugs, along with making new stuff work. These bugs also appeared in 0.62 version here and there, and they repeat in this new engine/version of the game. The 'deleted' 0.62 content should be added gradually after this 1.0 version gets fixed and stable, depending if we're talking just old weapons or old features.
  7. @mullo As far as suppressors, if you're looking for M4 or AK stuff, these should be easily found in military bases. Also there are military checkpoints on the roads scattered around the map. Usually with a couple of tents to loot, so worth a try too. But if you are not that much ready for that or a fresh spawn, don't forget the guard barracks in civilian areas and those big shipping containers. They can be found at the military bases but there's plenty of those at the docks. They can hold some weapons quite frequently, in my experience. With my last spawn in Cherno, I went through the docks filled with these shipping containers. The dark red ones with CEARO logo spawn some jumpsuits that's maybe good for some more inventory space than usual at the beginning. Also, tools, duct tape etc. The dark green ones with no logos painted are usually with some better loot. There was maybe 10 or so of those. At that time I found there an FNX pistol, a mag for it with ammo, a pistol suppressor and a field backpack. Also, before, I found there some parts for military rifles but also suppressors for them. That's rare though I think. The guard barracks, small green ones and especially those concrete ones with blue lockers and a toilet room can spawn scorpion and makarov (IJ70), possibly some mags for them too. The pistol suppressor fits both FNX and Makarov. I'm not sure if it still works for MP5 (now called SG5). Another thing worth checking are those that some called worker's barracks, usually placed at some civilian factory-like areas like that little quarry near Solnechniy. They look similar to the good old single door military barracks but with broken down front doors. A hallway with four rooms one by another inside also, but only had a stove and a bed. Now in 1.0 I find there some smaller military items like clothes and weapon pieces, even SG5 and USG weapons and mags (USG was UMP45 before). IMO to help get some better PVP or more of interaction if you will, I think suppressors for automatic rifles at least should be spawning less often than this.

    @[Gen]Adzic I think I remember you being among the skeptic ones regarding Dayz's progress and development. I got one of my buddies to run it, and he's mostly into regular FPS PVP games, and he loved Dayz for what it is. But another great story to read on and also good to see someone having a look again at it and enjoying it! Had a similar mishap with infected today when cornered into a house by a bunch of them, not being able to shut the door in time so I got mauled to death quickly and mercilessly xP If anyone's looking for running modded, especially latest winter stuff, check out M1NDR's explanation in this video (timed to the point - the whole video is great too btw):

    Disconnecting during fight

    I think this was discussed many times before. They probably reduced it to 15 seconds from something a bit longer, as far as I remember. But are you: - just calling it a day and logging off somewhere trying to be safe (because your character is a sitting duck then and can't do anything after that if someone sees you), - or just combat logging/server hopping, - or actually loosing connection, client side. The problem is that there is no way the game can discern from those couple of examples. There's always all kinds of problems with computer multiplayer games to think about. Apart from development/coding/physics issues and bugs, it's with all of its rules and how will the players abuse them or find loopholes and glitches. Because they will do, most likely.

    I dunno, I still find Dayz as a welcoming addition to other games in my whole gaming experience, playing for an hour or three. That's the main thing. Despite this latest official release to the public and how it's going through.

    Melee Combat Was Botched Last Minute

    Yeah what's wrong with this? It doesn't work properly for me neither. When my stamina bar is full, I get the heavy attacks only, regardless if I hold the shift key or not. Only when it's empty I can throw these lite attacks, again holding or not holding the shift key. I'm on stable version though.

    The problem is in having a desire to wonder out at night in the first place, because only true survivors find or build cosy shelters with food and never allow themselves getting caught by the dark xD

    PC 1.0 Release Date Announcement

    Try also restarting Steam if you didn't already. Could be something hardware specific which needs a patch. I just got the update after this fix and started the game for a bit. It was night on the server. The FPS was OK, maybe a bit lower than usual. I did experience a couple of lags, then finally after two bigger ones, the game crashed after about 20 mins. Need to check on this again. The flare lights are weird during night, meaning they uncover some distant objects' silhouettes in the distance. Ticket posted.

    And most games out there hahh Yeah I hope they improve the interior lighting and refresh the looks. But then how do you implement digging tunnels etc. that will look good, they way you wanted it to be and at the same time not get broken? Since the game looks good, not simplistic with blocks, like Minecraft. I remember Life is feudal: Your own game had some terrain manipulation thing in the early access.

  21. Maybe gameplay wise. But realistically, I think it depends on the force, direction and the location of the impact if you will just stagger and keep on rolling stumbling a bit, or purely ragdoll. If you sprint and someone behind shoots you in the butt, it pretty much pushes you forward jumping in pain. If they hit you in the leg, you'd probably stumble and keep on limping, maybe even falling to the ground immediately. If you're sprinting towards someone, you can still make it if the distance is right. Just walking towards someone, you get shot and you're most likely down. I think it all depends on the strength/force against your body's momentum and if the vitals are hit.

    Mosins are too "tall"

    I mean realistically, you can disassemble some rifles and pack them in. With the folding buttstock and when removing the mag, you can fit that AKM rifle in the backpack the size of the hunting backpack I reckon. Remember the disassemble feature on the Trumpet rifle? That was great to have, but too bad it was a pretty weak weapon.

    CIVILIAN NIGHT VISION

    I reckon it will be the same when spotting someone in the distance right now with or without goggles. You observe the pattern of movement and quickly discern an AI-infected from another player. Well, whatever the variant is possible, I guess it'll be in the game sooner or later, but right now I only care for the good balance, loot economy wise. My bet is on both those light amplifier ones and infra-red, maybe one type as US army helicopter loot, the other Chernarussian forces or Russian helicopter. Hopefuly, you'd be able to combat this advantage at some level of success with creating light that would be just too much for the goggle wearer.

    Stun locked with melee weapon

    @Smokeemcpot_ Loved the Borderlands series, especially the first one, I guess that's normal haha So, we don't have that buttstock melee action when holding a rifle or a pistol, what about kicks? Why should I be limited to fists only like in a box match? Dayz world is virtually unlimited in unforgiveness and unfairness, so why should I be? There's more than a couple of these features missing in the unarmed combat alone, but they're either completely forgotten or tough to implement so far.
