if there is no bow, its a no go. add all they want, no reinstall untill they bring my craftable bow back

if 1.10 has the bow then they are forgiven. if not....

posts like this used to be so common. often illustrated by amazing screenshots. those were the good old days. i miss the day we could hop onto the forum to find such epic stories of survival. thanks bro or sis.

you speak for no one. do i wish they would release another patch? yes. i would also like the bow back. would i allow someone to rudely demand the patch because they feel entitled to it now on my behalf? not you, not anyone. i can speak for myself thank you.

try and single out some zeds. often when u kill them they have food in their inventory and they are easy to kill one at a time

fair enough. it definately would be better if they had a few moderated servers for people to get their toes wet with.

rust and ark are both incredably popular and no one moderates their official servers. gta5..... 50% scripters. havent played much red dead online but guessing is probably similar. my point is that there are plenty of games with official servers that get no attention from their devs. id guess probably far more than there are games that do get attention. Is just oppinion but i dont think the issue is official servers. i think the real issue might just be stubborn players not realizing that this is not by far the only game where community servers are where the best experience is. this forum is riddled with posts of people complaining that theu dont want to play on community servers cuz they dont want mods yet there are tons of vanilla servers, even good ones. toms of posts of people worrying that the server will go down because its not official, yet there are tons of popular servers that have been up for a long time and will be for long time to come. i understand everyones frustration but the issue can EASILY be solved by spending a game session or 2 trying a few community servers and finding somewhere to call home.

literally the greatest thing i have read since 1.0 dropped. just to know they are even working on bows is huge news. this gets my heart thumpin again

unfortunately for me all of this will be overshadowedby the lack of bow. am trying to be optimistic but we are almost 8 patches past official release. new emgine or not, starting over or not.... they should be looking at getting all pre release content back in before adding anything else. broken bones would be nice to have again but basebuilding..... should not be tweaked, worked on, or even looked at untill they have all of yhe prerelease content. am optimistic but skeptical. thinkin ima give it till 1.10 maybe? although who knows. i pretty much tell myself every patch that this one will be the last for me if there is no bow....

fair enough actually. i can see your point and even agree with you on many points as it can def be frustrating to build something awesome and find it gone. i have just always used ark as my building game and play dayz in a much different way. i need to realize that many ppl have a far different playstyle than myself and that the beauty of dayz is that there is no right way to play it. i get where you are coming from tho. if i put in the effort to have an actual base in dayz im sure id prob end up pretty salty about it pretty fast.

finally someone with a reasonable suggestion. these threads pop up constantly with ppl whining that its too easy to destroy their bases. its sposed to be a reslistic survival simulator is it not? im tired of reading "my base should be invincible, i should be able to build where everyone can see me without consequence." yourbase should be as safe as the hiding spot you place it in. id agree with making it take a little longer or making it take a cpl hatchets to get in but i dont think it should be much harder than that

i would agree almost entirely with your statement aside from that i believe you are wrong about the sociopaths. they would be the last to die in the end of worlds. they would take control. they would be the ones willing to do what was neccessary, without letting guilt get in the way. the average person would be going through a list of emotions when faced with the task of "putting someone down". the sociopath is not burdened by this.

u can flog a dead horse all day long. itll never make the horse get up and run. just use the time that you are wasting here to find urself a good comfy private server somewhere. once u find one you will never look back

so on one hand you are saying you dont want the game to be too easy, yet on the other you are saying you want to be able to corner and wall peak with 3pp.... k, sorry just funkin round now. seriously tho. dont give up on the game just cuz of a lil salt. i myself put it down and am waiting for the bow and maybe some leathercraft, but i promis, once you find the right server the game will start to live up to its potential a little more. stear clear of official and maybe give first person a go. is way more immersive and geta rid of corner peaking which imo is for the weak anyway.

not saying i dont understand your frustration but i would rather they work on getting stuff like bows back in than worry about battle eye for the moment. there are plenty of great private and whitelist servers out there to join where you will be able to have the amazing immersive experience that only dayz can provide. i would suggest joining one of these servers as i dont think the devs have time or resources to worry about anticheat on public servers atm. maybe give dug a try. i personally haven't played on that server but have read great things.

the server files are publicly available. so if you are unable to find a server that you feel there is a need for, then nothing is stopping you from hosting it yourself

dayz on console was a waste for eceryone except the people selling it. if everyone who worked on console versions had been working on pc version we would be farther along. they also would not have to limit things in game so that it would run on console. dayz started pc and should have stayed pc. if they needed more money they shoulda just put more work in (with console team on pc version) made the game and livonia better, and then charged a bit more for the dlc. or maybe used the console team as next dlc team. people would still be upset that they had to pay for dlc but at least they would be getting stuff like bows or bikes instead of the "flavor features" just being left out.

it is a sad day for me to read the 2020 roadmap andnot see the word bow anywhere. craftable weapons are a favorite of mine and all we have now is a stone knife im so dissapointed

when u logged back in did you log into a new server? if so your new location is a feature added to prevent people server hopping.

if you are on a friendly server i would say just hit up major towns and cross your fingers. that being said this forum is probably a great place to start. check out the recruiting section or the servers section. recruiting will help u find others to play with and servers may point you towards something that has events where people play together

sounds wierd but this is actually something i like about dayz. sometimes u will get there and have ur gunfight, sometimes u will die on the way be it from starving, freezing, zeds or players. the game gets u so invested and immersed its amazing. no other game can fill me with the salty rage of failing like dayz can. after i die, whether its from excitement or from rain i want nothing more than to put myself through it all over again

though i see your point with books and agree that books and notes are flavor features they are still a definite favorite of mine. the bow however is a different story. the bow opens an entirely new style of gameplay where you can play without going to houses and cities dayz is a survival game primarily and so i feel that this style of gameplay should not be ignored or left out.
