yes but people arguing that they should release now without knowledge of what they are fixing is ignorant. for all we know the issues they are having could stop you from joining a server alltogether. hell they could stop the game from loading in the first place. or they could be issues that could damage your pc if released as is. everyone just needs to chill the funk out and wait. they will release it when THEY are ready to release it. have some patience.

easier said than done. we ran a server for 3 months and over the 3 months only had 2 people join that were willing to donate to help keep the server going. thatbeing said we didnt start with a community of people, it was just the 4 of us to begin with. still tho... i dont k ow too many people who can put together even a group of 10 people to play with never mind 60. very much looking foreward to the posability of hosting a dedicated server ourselves.

so once dedicated server hosting is available will i be able to host a server on the same machine i play on or will i need a seperate desktop to run the server?

i applaud the fact that you found the error and that you added it to the feedback tracker. even that you went farther and posted everywhere else you could think of when you didnt think it was being fixed fast enough. however i imagine they fixed it when they got to it on the feedback tracker and i imagine flaming the game and the devs of the game did not make it any faster. people reacted harshly to your post and to be honest i agreed with then because i believed and still do that they were frustrated in how you made your complaint and how instead of just bringing attention to the issue you felt the need to go on about how the devs were crap and you would never play again if they didnt respond right now. it came across as entitled and demanding and kinda rubbed me and im sure a few others the wrong way. i hope your future experiences are as welcoming as most of mine have been and that we one day can tell stories of these events around a campfire or in a newly crafted base sometime in the future. i hope your negative experience is water under the bridge. the people in this community arent toxic most of the time and are usually very informative, helpful, and provide amazing scenic stories of their journys in dayz. we all have bad days here and there.

i would agree with you there. though some of the status indicators that have been added i dont mind, the stamina bar could be done without. im hoping that it being there is a place holder till they get all the different breathing sounds to where they want them as we need some kind of indicator that we are runnin on fumes

i dont see it as trolling. he is responding in agrivation to the op which is rediculously childishly written. if he was posting for knowledge or to make people aware then it woupdnt be such a whiny "fix it or ill never load it again!!! aknowledge this right now i command it!!!!" post. im guesaing he is a fan of dayz and is passionate about the game and is tired of reading 8000000 posts a day that all say "waaaaah! why isnt developement of a huge game and a completely new engine instant?" or "i just had to reboot my computer with no damage to it whatsoever, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!" they have limited time in a day and have limited staff/programmers. they do check the feedback tracker and are resolving issues as they get to them. have patience and it will all come together.

i cant believe how many times i have read this same topic. how is it discussion worthy? removing it would be a poor business decision because of the people who like 3pp (i prefer first person) and the people with motion sickness. besides it gives us a buffer. it is where people who play strictly for pvp or people who want "the upper hand" all the time play. if you take all the toxic players from 3pp and move them to hardcore it would probably take from the experience. im not a fan of 3pp and dont play it but it would be silly for them to remove it imo. alas.... here i am saying dumb things like 'how is this discussion worthy'........while taking part in the discussion.

Dont count your chickens before they hatch. Your friends may take longer or be more hesitant but everyone who truly loves or loved dayz will be back. Some during developement some after release. A finished product will be too much for them to resist. Besides, anyone who doesnt return will be replaced with new players and console players after release.

dont worry. everyone will return. the more they add the more people will want to come back for a peak. once they return the game will recaptivate them.

personally i would rather see a penalty for players who have low health/food/hydration. i think the stamina as they have it is pretty well balanced as you can sprint for quite a distance. i feel it is a great way to make people think about how they use stamina instead of just sprinting to nwaf. they need to save a little stamina for fighting and take time crossing the map. im a big fan of the stamina system

i totally understand the frustration of the orrigional poster and of the person upset with him. the orrigional poster was suffering from 'i died a bunch because it wasnt easy enough for me' syndrome, and the reaponder was tired of reading hundreds of posts of people saying the game sucks because it is difficult. i also am under the impression that the game is supposed to be an incredably difficult survival game in a sandbox environment. you should not be finding food everywhere and you should get hungry. if surviving is easy then people will get bored and immediately turn to pew pew pvp. THAT would ruin gameplay. personally i find the magic of this game to be that moment when you see another player and follow them for a while to get an idea of if they will be friendly. then once that is ascertained working with them to survive this apocalyptic new world. if the only thing you need to work to survive is other players then why play at all. we have cod for that. you shouldnt go from hungry to stuffed with a full backpack of food in an hour and you shouldnt need to eat only once every 6. you shouldnt be able to sprint from one end of map to other. you should need to calculate your decisions, your routes of travel, your rations, clothing for warmth and every other aspect to survive and learn from your mistakes by dying and starting again. food poisoning almost always killing you for example.... should be an exelent way to learn to cook your food and purify your water...

I get what ur saying. But just because it isnt real life doesnt nean we shouldnt strive to have it as close as possible. Having a crosshair does nothing other than increase ur ability to hipfire. Adding this ease does nothing other than promote run and gun, pew pew squeekers. Hipfiring should be a huge risk and a last resort. If you are in a situation where u dont have time to raise your gun then you have made a mistake and should learn from that mistake next life. Dont allow yourself to be backed into a corner and u shouldnt need a crosshair.

I love how every time i pick up a gun in real life and raise it a small crosshair appears in the exact center or my vision and then changes size based on how i position my body to tell me how easy the shot will be.... They should get rid of crosshairs entirely for the sake of immersion.

Amazing writeup. Waiting patiently for .63 and then intend to fully reintegrate dayz into my daily life again. Very excited for all new content. Havent played yet to see how it affects gameplay but not sure if they wouod really need to improve stamina. Im 33 yrs old and not in the best shape but not 400 pounds either. If i was to sprint 100m as hard as i can while carrying nothing at all irl i would probably need close to an hour to recover. Half an hour foresure. Though i am not the best example i imagine if u took a random sample of 25 random men and women (age 25-40) i bet less than 10 of them could actually full on sprint for 100m without suffering severely after.

I myself only have a little over 300 hours as i just never have time to get on but i dont find it that surprising that people have 4 or even 5 thousand hours. just think, u said u have a passion for football. imagine that was a passion for dayz. all the hours spent watching games or highlights would be spent playing. i imagine you probably do at least one fantasy league if its a passion for you in which case that is a massive score of hours you spend on football that could also be spent in game. Personally i could spend a vast majority of my life logged into dayz if i didnt think it would cause a divorce and probably a couple very neglected young ones. cant wait till they are old enough to join me in game.

Fair enough. I really gotta stop gettin my panties in a bunch every time i see someone saying the game sucks or bein a wiener about timelines (no i dont actually wear panties. Not that i would judge any man who does). Gotta say i have noticed an increased dev presence in the forums and it is really a refreshing change. It is definately appreciated.

Thank you very much for the response. I'm unfortunately not even sure of the date as it has been a few weeks. Didnt think of joining the ts channel. Definately seemed fishy when it restarted as it was only an hour or so from a previous restart and was part way into an hour. Have had a great time on your server and will definately return. Thanks again for the response.

Was using your server as home for quite a while. Noticed a lot of kos but also a few friendlys. Ended up mostly avoiding people but still very much enjoying the server. Untill.... A few weeks ago i made my way to myskino tents and heard shots. Snuck through the bush and found the shooter and took him out. Then noticed someone taking aim on me from field and took him out aswell. Then i went to third person to find one person attempting to restrain me and one about to swing an axe. Backed up and killed both of them. Threats now eliminated i made my way down to the tents only to have the admin im assuming that i just killed reset the server in order to maintain his char. When i logged back in they were waiting for me and gunned me down. Server abuse by admins is just terrible and ruins the game for everyone. I was forced to find a new home. Maybe given time my saltiness will subside and i can return. You should speak to your admins.

Upon further reflection i have to agree. We are all entitled to our oppinions. Mine however remains that dayz is an epic game and will only continue to grow in its awesomeness as time progresses no matter how long that time may be. I paid around 30 bucks and got hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of it. Payed almost twice as much when fallout 3 came out and got maybe a third of the hours out of it before i got bored. Spent more than 3 times as much on diablo3 and expantion and am now bored to tears with it. All in all i think i did pretty good with the purchase of dayz and am looking foreward to several hundred more hours of enjoyment while i watch it develop. Impatience breeds dissapointment

I agree that it is nice that they do it but it is not owed to us. We all purchased a game with no timeline promissed to us. If they released an update a year or no udates at all untill release they still would have fulfilled any obligation they have to us. We are consumers who are being allowed to play the game early in order to provide feedback on game functionality. We are not part of the dev team or stockholders/investors. We purchased a product under the understanding that it was in development without any sort of timeline. And though goals have been released and some reached and others far from they are still merely goals and not a promissed timeline. Like i said if you cant handle the rate of progression maybe you should just wait for release.

I understand your frustration but do you realize that all your post has done is waste another couple minutes of everyones time? The game is amazing as is and is only getting better as things go along. Maybe it will take another year maybe it will take 10. You knew what you signed on for. Doing status reports at all is more than we as players of the game are entitled to. THEY OWE YOU NOTHING! Sorry if i seam rude but it really irks me to see all the posts about "this game sucks.... blah blah blah kos..... wahhhhhh....taking too long..... wahhhh...i want it now..." dont get me wrong i am guilty of whining about lost camps and stuff but the game is progressing and in the mean time is more than playable. If you cant handle the rate of progression maybe you should bow out of early access and just wait for the release.
