I think phillbur says: it's not "ONLY" the play controller that will be new. He thinks it is "THE" player controller. It is a very important and complex part of the engine that was missing to get all the other new engine modules working properly. It's like the middle part of the puzzle (the one with the important pegs, of which there are only a few in a puzzle image, but key points) of a picture that gives it all.

@afk18boh You see, it was a good thing to post your idea here in the Official Forum. I like the idea too. it gives you more options and choices. IMO will allow the Staminasystem a lot of frustrated players to speak because the game suddenly becomes more difficult. (yes, the soft mass in our skulls must work again ..). (#_#)/\/\/\_ -

i have this tested: 1 Hour Running on Chernogorks (Center of Town). I start as MEGA-FRESHY in the Container Area @19:43 (darkgreen Energized and hydrated) . I search stuff insider the Blue area from the Picture (max. 30-50% from the buildings search inside) After my Circle of Loot in Stopped on the Container Area (Startpoint), in this Time i never something eat, only drink at the wells. at the Start: 1 Houres later at the same Point. ... i need a tent or 2-3 Barrels .....

Firedrill-Kit ^^ step to step: Spawn on the Coast --> search here a Stone and make a stoneknife. Then search apples, if you drenched --> make a fire. With the stoneknife you go to a biger tree and "earn" 2x Bark and 2 Branches.(1branch are your first weapon) 1branch (with stoneknife) to 3 sticks. 1bark and 1 stick = Firedrill / 1 bark and 1 stick = Fireplacekit. search a place to make a fire (in a house with fireplace) oder unter an Big Roof or simply under a tree. Under a tree are not realy easy. the Close Position from tribe, and if not possible ti Ignite then Chance the Position naer the tribe. (start with eastside, then sud/west/nord). Now you can survive and search Loot, ist not easy on the coast, go westside.

It depends on what Loot we need in the future. (for example for base building). At the moment, the coastal loot is not of great importance, as many mechanics of the game are still missing. (What it's NOW in the game is true, big cities are not interesting on the quality and benefits of the loot, as opposed to the danger you risk.)

1. A system leaves the characters on the server after logging off is an additional burden on the server. That would only lead to the resources in other things such as Z-KI goes to the load. The other is the higher network traffic. 2. I do not want to interfere with a game in my IRL. So that I am almost forced to look for my character again and again like a Tamagochi. Pros and cons of how and where to log out, this is something I could agree with.

Being killed by a zombie in a zombie game is a no-go. The same with Super Mario's annoying opponents. (And seriously, Zombis are Infected and even if it's a bug .... anything can happen in an Apocalypse, do not ever be sure what you're doing.)

These sequences in "TLou" are made with "full-motion-capture", it is almost comparable to the "blue screen technique" in film. Since no animation is controlled or interrupted by a key command. And what is still very important, this is not an MMO. (no server controlling the environment, a very big difference). Work-Time verification is sensless.

sry. that does not apply to you. It is generally understood why it takes longer than something is done "with license engines". DayZ is something of a "research department" to me (that's what makes it interesting) -

Comparing Dayz Engine with PUGB is wrong. Most FPS engines process "only" inputs from players and coordinate collision queries and process those values. The DayZ-engine has far more than these requirements to meet. It's like a flight simulator, with many visible and unrecognizable influences being used to simulate an "apocalypse". That's what makes everything much more complicated than anything we try to compare with DayZ. m2cents. -
To my honest answer: I do not know. I can imagine the planning and work processes, from the real implementation (programming / code on PC-base) I have no expertise. That's why I stop my answers.

Also do not forget: every action can be aborted to switch to another action. Exactly this point makes the whole animation system a challenge, so it does not look "amateurish". The animations need "exit points" and "entry points" to handle that, and I think that's pure "manual work".

No game development, only development of machines for the packaging industry, and there it is, if you do something new that no one has done yet, then it will be hard to ask for advice and answer.

@exacomvm I think the Devs are not with Code yet so far, they can simply copy / paste weapons paste and make fine grinding. The car needs strength until it gets in momentum. They can not look at w3: Armaholics a few tips and ask friends .... they create what is later filled with tips in the Scene.

Tent Render Distance can get you killed. I have some questions.

The whole thing will certainly change when they insert the whole basebuilding (baricades / watchtowers). Because it makes no sense, not to render the tents, but the rest. As an example the watchtower should be rendered with the same distance as the players .. otherwise the guards sit in the air ..... ok yes, we are sometimes funny Player-Birds ... but, really so we can sit in the air? but rather not. Basebuilding will be a bigger challenge in the future than building "tent cities" ... maybe it will be "smaller but better". for the greater it is, the more easy to find. -
