    Make guns recoil control a soft skill

    I think the recoil of a weapon is stored as a "parameter" in the weapons values, as well as the ballistic data of the ammunition / rifle barrel. That means everything can be adjusted. Each weapon is then "parameterized" with its static and physical properties and will not change even after many uses, because it will change how you handle it. Softkills should only have an impact on secondary weapon handling ... like changing magazines or filling magazines with rounds (it takes longer or there is a chance that rounds or magazines fall to the ground), if at all. Secondary handling should depend on the environment and the current state of your char .... if you are cold, injured, hungry or ill, a high soft skill will give you more benefits than if you are in good shape.

    From the point of view of how DayZ is now, melee sounding slightly unimportant, the firearms still dominate the gameplay. B.Hicks, however, once emphasized: "Think well for what you want to use a round." That sounds to me like the loot will have other numbers in the future. If Vanilla struggles to get weapons or ammunition (imagine the military Infected could kill Instant's neck), melee combat will have a very different (more) value. Sure, this system is quickly pushed into the background in PvP mods, but Dayz's path will go beyond the original.

    Removing the gamma controller will only solve the problems for a short time, there will be other ways to get around this. I like the night, however, I have to "real time of day" if it is outside light or the sun shines, increase the gamma something else I really do not see more than a moonless night in a windowless basement when I was in a charred furnace look. ---> Nothing. (It's like when the monitor is turned off) and only because of DayZ I do not want to put the PC in the basement.

  6. The screenshot is still from the old renderer .... it's not that extreme, and there's still room for optimization, it's just not the most important thing right now.

    I see it that way, it's the beginning. Remember that bicycles and motorcycles will follow. I just saw a little bit more of the stream, but it seemed so strange ... like something completely new.

    Good mods will take a lot of time until we can see and touch them. Until then, Vanilla will be the highest. Sure, there will be some fast PvP mods quickly, but they will also flatten until new good and thoughtful ideas are implemented.

  12. The problem can be solved in several ways. Visually, the visibility / distance for objects / players / animals could be reduced to hardcoded ... they simply do not care less how high your gamma is. Or it can be solved with mechanics who jogging or run without light in the dark, risking his character falling, and injuring himself ... no matter how high your gamma is. the most important thing is: the devs know the point and want to solve it.

    The ready for exp. certainly refers to the function module (CI) of the camera. An intelligent software that calculates everything by itself and works only with names or groups of assets is certainly not a good solution, because calculations take time, and time costs performance, and performance means "more or (badly) less FPS". The advantage of intelligent software is just that it takes less work for the team because it always calculates instant during the game ... at the expense of performance. The software, which "imports" the parameters directly from the data of the assets, saves a lot of time because it can process predefined data directly. The disadvantage of this way is: the work has to be done by hand beforehand. What the engine gains in time takes time programming and debugging. This means that a highly intelligent camera module is a cheap solution. (I do not know if it really works like that, it's only "logical" thoughts of mine that do not have to agree with reality!)

    @exacomvm The collision models of the assets are not the problem, because otherwise the camera would still be the same. You have to tell the CI (Camera Intelligence) how it has to work for the different assets. A wall / picket fence must be processed differently than a wall of a house. You have to "feed" the objects with offset values so that the CI can work with them. So if you come near a wall, the z-value will certainly limit itself to destroy benefits ... this must be done long before the collision points of the wall reach. You also have to do this with almost every single asset, and the difficulty will be to prioritize the "offset values". and at 1000 assets .... think once of the variety of combinations that arise. That's what takes time ...one half a hell full of time.

    That would mean that the "graphic part" (and possibly also audio) is based exclusively on Arma3, while the part about scripts comes more from ToM. This would make sense of the naming: Enfusion .... 2 good engine-parts merged.

    Old post.... i know. Recently someone announced (no longer knows who and where hmm Dancing.Russian.Man? ... oh my brain) the DayZ EnScript is the same or similar to the script language of "Take on Mars". If the script is the same (or almost the same), then the structure of the systems is certainly synonymous with NewDayZ. That would mean that the tools could also have certain "similarities". So for interested "modders" it may be a good idea to take a look at these things at "ToM". (Just an idea, because maybe Arma3 is the wrong platform to get your bearings .... I can be wrong ... I am a 100% layman in the field).

    Even though it shows the picture that does not seem much "really new" in the first iteration of 0.63. Alone the Stamina (with weight system?!?) Will have a very big impact on the gameplay, in almost all situations. Annoying it may be that the "big fast favorite places" are not reached so quickly. But locally it will change a lot because you are limited in the fast run .... it will require new techniques and tactics. And who knows, there will be different Official Hives ... maybe those for Coastal PvP with the Lootzones from the early days.

    @THEGordonFreeman I suspect the status "Postpone" is intended to provide a schedule protection. It seems like the devs have a more detailed plan WHEN 0.63 is opened on Experimental. With the "Postpone"-Tag, they do not want to push the appointment unnecessarily, if the problems are not as easy to solve as they think. (a good attitude that makes sense).

    Thinking about buying, but steam reviews

    It's best to make a selection that suits you. Do you like the Genere / Survival Open Sandbox? Do you already have games from this genre..or do you know games from this genere, but something keeps you from buying them. If so, what do you think of DayZ, what do you expect from this game? Is this experience worth the money or what are your expectations for your money? These are all things that we can not take you off, because: DayZ is not finished, and what will really come with 0.63 / beta, none of us really know.

    To the point with the shoes and the slow ruin by use. this mechanic should affect a lot of clothes. Clothes should be devalued by use, depending on posture ... so lying in the rain and crawl ... wears your clothes. Also, from the status damaged or badly damaged on clothes should lose their "values" (rain jackets are no longer tight or not so warm anymore). Also, the influence sizes of gloves and hats, have now too small impact. A cowboy hat protects against wet in the rain (dry means warm) and in the sun it does not heat up so quickly. Gloves protect well from cold ... but in the heat they are torture. I think it's just a lot of little things that can make something very big, it's the diversity. //A can opener of a can of 100% in 2sec. opens your could be dead .... because someone else sees it ... because with a Huntingknife you can open a can with 98% ... but human it takes 15sec. !//

    Exactly these considerations make sense. It is the question between not too little and not too much. To keep the balance in order to keep the character vital. The same applies to the mentioned drugs (medics) or Cannabis / mushrooms. There should be situations where these items help you to get from a bad status to a better status. Abuse should have the opposite effect. For example: your character has a severe infection .... your vision becomes cloudy or blurry, painkillers / mushrooms or cannabis heal your "feeling" symptoms. This leaves a lot of room for interaction, as it can heal the negative effects more quickly, but it should also be possible without surviving, just with more caution and effort. Add: We experience the mental value of ourselves, the actions / actions will make our character live healthier or sicker. It does not dictate any direct action with other players .... someone can help you ... and in the conclusion the helper can be shot right at the same time. Everyone must always be aware of this, DayZ never gives you the security.

    yes that's right .... we have all apple trees chopping from Kamenka to Berezki (including Belaya / Turovo Olsha / Blunt Rocks / Kelm / Dolina / near Trees Valley / Tulga / Msta / and Pusta). a lot of wood lay on the server. The phenomenon was that these trees remained so after restart for a few days (world persistence) .... then came a Worldreset and the problem with the login error. But the picture you saw from the sedan, along the coast ..... it was a real "apple-calypse" ... lovely.

    The kick error is fixed. It was the same for all experimental servers. If anything else has changed I can not say .... because I can not play this week (too much work).
