Well done sir! I got as far as the first foot bridge and the boat interacted with the rocks and flipped. I then searched for "Can you flip an upturned boat in DayZ" and found your thread. What an effort, I'm impressed with your tenacity, it kinda reminded me of Kramer in Seinfeld taking the car for a test run then seeing how far he could get on an empty tank. I could see myself falling for this challenge and had to immediately walk away with my head slightly drooping forward but then raised it high again when I started to visualise the scenario of what DayZ would have had in store for me around each bend of the creek. I would 've been up all night sucking on sugar drinks and swearing loudly at my PC before realising the effort was a lost cause.
I agree that BI should look into deepening this particular water channel and joining it to other tributaries that would allow access to the interior. I was trying to get John Mclane to carve a channel into the Alteria map to allow the boats access to the internal waterways from the ocean, unfortunately 1.26 happened and took a massive dump on modded maps and John had to turn his attention to damage control to get both Deer Isle and Alteria playable again. The boats are great fun and add so much to the immersion in game, now all it needs is to refine their use and allow them to go further than just around the East/West coastline.
