Grass in ArmAII works this way - it's rendered normally up to 200m or so. After that if you go prone or even stand in a tall grass engine renders your as if you were drowning in terrain meaning depending on grass height you can be invisible from long range in you're proning. Yes, BIS has thought of this and this was even in ArmA. -

You know the first thing I'd do in a real life situation is to strap a torch to my AK with some tape... Just saying. In DayZ this would require adding a source of light/flashlight to every weapons model in the game which is kind of a hassle. Or a script that works like HL2 flashlight. -

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the PPSh-41. Afterall Chernarus is a post-soviet country and it would be the perfect submachinegun for clearing out zombies in cities/villages. Also I made a thread about the T-34-85 and it didn't appeal to many because supposedly it would be "unbalanced" or something. Funny how those people disregarded AT4s that spawn and that stupid Huey. -
Doubtful. If they did hacker wouldn't spawn them, besides most of the "anti-cheat" scripts fuck up the game fps-wise instead of fucking up hackers/cheaters/whatever.

So imagine this - I'm trying to get into that one brick building in Gvozdno by trying to "leap over" it's stairs and guess what happens? My character ends up INSIDE the building's floor and immediatly gets his legs broken and dies seconds after. Of course I wouldn't be mad but I just lost half a month worth of scavenging due to a BUG. I wouldn't be mad either if I haven't lost an SVD due to a BUG. So my question is - is this a legit reason to send a ticket to rocket or whoever's responsible for retrieving characters to restore my character? I mean obviously I wouldn't do this if I got killed by a DayZ bug but I got killed by an ArmA bug. Opinions? This is propably in the wrong forum and if it truly is then please can a mod move this?

NSPU is NOT a thermal scope, it's a nightvision scope. Also it used to spawn before some updates AFAIK so maybe that's where that guy got it from.

This is BS. Custom models could be used instead of low res models that require DLCs to buy. And if you're concerned with how big the mod files would get two character models aren't really that big filesizewise.

Jacked it from another thread - yeah, it's a BAF unarmed soldier which means it'll look like shit for everyone who doesn't have stupid DLC, like myself. As I've said in another thread rocket should've gotten some "donated" models with backpack bones from addonmakers instead of trying workarounds like this so if people want to play with high res textures they have to buy a dumb DLC which they won't play as a whole at all most likely. I really don't understand this reasoning.

Is that a BAF unarmed soldier? If so - great... Another low res shit for me because I don't have any of those dumb DLCs. Seriously though - it would be way better if someone donated some proper models with backpack bones rather than these placeholders or whatever's that supposed to be.

BAF offroad is slower in terrain than the UAZ and has more passenger seats me thinks. And it has it's steering wheel on the right side. -

It only works in small groups of five maybe six people sadly. But still I'm interested if anything comes out of this, as long as my tent is fucked and I can't place it to stash all the goods in it I'm not really playing this but I'm still interested. Also giving us info about which server this is on would be great. I might be even wanting to help out. -
By the way - tents are still fucked because I can't put any tents in the same places I used to before those three updates. Whatever rocket did fucked the system hard up. Also I'm not going to bother the OP anymore. Apparently people don't know what 'search' is for.

As in keep the "flat area" part but completely remove the script responsible for looking for space between objects, at least for the time being until a better solution is found. Why? The only reliable place where you can "hide" a tent is an open field. Trees have some issue with their collision model or whatever that script is looking for so you essentially can't place a tent in a forest, bushes are almost working but tend to screw up the same way as trees do. And yes - I mad because I've spent two hours today trying to find a "good" spot because in all the actually good spots I wasn't able to place a tent because of that script. Also I realise people will try to exploit this but we already have people Alt+F4ing so this wouldn't be that big of an issue.

Perceived usefulness of Weapons.

I mostly agree but here's my thing - I like those weapons I have with me, for instance I prefer the 74 instead of AKM just because I like it more than the AKM and when it comes to shooting zombies I just hide in an open building and start picking them off one by one. I only switched to an M16 because there isn't any subsonic ammo for my 74. What I don't understand though is why the Dragunov is so damn rare. I have one and I simply got lucky because I found an ammo box for it in one of the barracks but still - the only advantage Dragunov has over DMR is it's mechanical range finder in it's scope. Other than that it's essentially the same rifle - almost same caliber, same effective range but DMR has a bigger magazine. -
No and I hope there won't be. The equipment loot sheet is too much already and I don't want something similiar to that for vehicles.

Also use the search function - it's there for a reason and I've made a comprehensive thread about tents and vehicles some time ago so there's absolutely no need to create more trash around the forums.

WHAT's gone? The tent or stuff in it? Because if it's the latter somebody could've just jacked it. If it's the former - wait for a server restart or two and that should bring back your tent. Also as far as I know HIVE automatically saves your progress when you disconnect from a server and that counter on the debug monitor is, I think, just in case you crash or the server crashes or something like that.

From my experience it really rarely spawns medical boxes with stuff inside, VERY rarely. -
Updated. Also information about vehicle spawns is not necessary. It would be better if left alone in my opinion.
