Play experimental. It feels more friendly. I've had one retard trying to kill me with a crowbar after I helped him and killed zombies around him but afterwards I had a pleasant surprise of running into a guy that gave me a CR527 magazine with 7.62 ammo in it for my SKS.

So he'll just go full retard with certain parts of the game while making others unnecessarily realistic? You realize that's beyond dumb and people have been bitching about weapons accuracy since the day alpha was released on steam and with good reason. ArmA had perfect ballistics and accuracy, rocket had ONE THING to do to make it perfect and that was weapons sway but instead he chose to break weapons because he chose so without any reasons.

So can anyone tell me what was rocket's reasoning behind this absolutely retarded idea of parts having mmolike stats? What does ergonomics have to with accuracy - because as far as I'm concerned real life magpul parts only affect ergonomics of a weapon, NOT it's performance. On one hand there's stuff like shitting and pissing because muh realism and on the other is this genius idea which has nothing to do with realism.

Holy fucking shit this thread again. I'll keep repeating myself until it gets through all the thicks skulls. Third person was in the series since OFP. Bohemia didn't see that as any kind of a problem whatsoever so it stayed throughout the whole series but now suddenly you start bitching about a non existant problem. ESPECIALLY when you have your "hardcore"babby servers. What's next? Removing firearms because they give an unfair advantage against unarmed people?

Holy shit, one - you have "hardcore" servers now if you really hate 3rd person view so much. That's a funny name considering all it changes is gets rid of crosshair and 3rd person. Second - 3rd person was in the series since OFP and Bohemia didn't see that as a problem because it's still in the series. Third - you can't feel your body in a game at all so your spatial awareness is gimped without 3rd person. -
And here lies the problem with this "community". Someone wants to add something to the game? Nah, better not. It's not like diversity is good or anything.

Move slower while PK is equipped, can't sprint while equipped, can't shoot while moving, firing from hip only while standing, using ironsights only possible if it's deployed, overheating and finally rocket should add item weight. Bam. LMGs are now fine in DayZ. I would still carry one anyway. Now that that is taken care of - MG42 when.

I don't get why people are so buttdevastated about adding several weapon types. What would be the problem of adding an SVT-40 or any other WWII and post WWII weapon into the game after the core is finished? It's literally just a model, some textures, 3 to 5 sounds, a modified already existing config file and a new animation. They could even make modders do that kind of stuff because it's relatively easy apart from mocap animations. There is seriously no problem in adding more weapons after the core of the game is done especially since promoting variety would mean more weapon types and ammo types which means everyone wouldn't be immediately stocked up with the best gear.

You have no idea what you're talking about. First of all they weren't "designed" to take out hordes of AIs. That's how accurate a rifle IRL is when properly used. And if you've played anything more than just DayZ you would've known what you see is what you get. Hit boxes are exactly the same size as the model visually. This has been the case since OFP and that hasn't changed. The mod was based on a mil"sim" and that's what made it better and differientated it from mobs of arcade shooters but now people want DayZ to be that arcade shooter? What's next? Shotgun that are innacurate past 5 meters? Weapons were fine in the mod but someone decided to fuck them over for whatever reason. This will kill the game, especially if rocket claims he wants authentic weapons. There's nothing authentic about artificially innacurrate weapons.

That's gonna bite him in the ass soon if he keeps up with these artificial gimmicks. Noone had a problem with how accurate weapons were in the mod because that's how accurate those things are in real life and suddenly rocket decides to go "fuck it" and introduces RPG style stat enhancers and what not. The mod was better than any comparable game because it didn't have artificial mechanics put into it and artificial gimmicks and mechanics are going to kill standalone if this keeps up.

As far as I remember even BF3 didn't have this kind of retarded artificial dispersion and it had at least correct magnification for scopes. Which is sad really because all they had to do is copy/paste ArmA II. Jesus is this SWTOR or something? How could anyone fuck up this badly? At first when I saw those parts I merely thought they were cosmetics and I would be fine with that but this? What was rocket thinking?

Jesus fucking Christ I knew some about things like ACOG having shit magnification and couple other things but this many? How can you fuck up so badly if you have a perfectly fine basis for it that is ArmA II? Why make it just another retarded RPG shooter with values pulled out of someone's ass? It can be an alpha but so what. That's not an excuse to fuck up this badly. If you want lowered accuracy don't do it by adding artificial shit but just by increasing recoil and sway. Jesus. On another note - there is an SKS is DayZ? And how do standard handguards and stocks compare with RIS and uglypul handguards and stocks? Oh and what about the suppressor? Does it do ANYTHING? I'm mainly interested in the RIS rails though. I don't understand why uglypul is supposed to give more accuracy than the standard handguard either because the latter is rather comfortable to begin with but whatever. That's a topic for another thread.

Oooh. An internet badass. How profound. You're not as cool as you might think. An internet badass who thinks he'll win internet arguments by putting something in someone's mouth. First of all genius I never even implied I'm killing off fresh spawns on the coast. In fact I've been in the north since day one I started playing standalone. Second of all if you're willing to let a potential threat to sit somewhere on your ass even if it's a kilometer away then you fully deserve to be shot time and time again when respawning. Oh and I forgot to say. It's easier to get rid of potential threats with an accurate rifle than with an assault carbine.
