    Status Report - 23 October 2018

    So can I get this most definitely clear. It is most definitely going to Beta by Christmas? And at 1.0 we have a stable base platform of the game? If so you have 8 weeks to fix the base game. Good luck and lets hope you make it. If that isn't the intention and that it is made stable after 1.0 then "Houston we have a problem". I get the need for a stable platform to build on. But if you are opening it up to the rest of the world to play there has to be more in it as you WILL get bad press regardless of it only being Beta and more so when the content of .62 is touted around. Any one new to the game that comes to this forum will soon know how much is missing and how hard done by will they feel and may be go and give more bad press. Oh well the decision has been made and I think the wrong one. May be you will survive as people overlook the game as better things are out there to distract them and when the game is ready for a big song and dance you might get that influx of players as suddenly they seeing a cool looking survival game.

    DayZ and its future

    Well 1.0 is going to arrive in the next 2 months regardless of what we say which is going to be a big shame. It's as if the game is going back to day 1 and instead of being called early access it is now being called Beta and maybe in the next 5 years we will be back to a sort of .62 game. By the way the devs should be taking note. The stress test servers are empty and they were usually full with players testing. Oh well it's going to be milk and honey for me on all thoughs empty servers way hay lol. By the way IMT I do totally agree with you.

    I agree with IMT's comments about you going to BETA. When you said you were doing it by the end of the year I thought that was a bit ambitious and you are proving me right. I understand you need to have an end goal, but there is so much missing from the current game engine that was in the old engine it's laughable. BETA is not going to be a survival game it's just going to be a PvP map with some infected as a minor irritation. And that is not what I was looking for in this game :-(. I grade this game as an L (listen to the community).

    Yep Emuthreat I whole heartedly agree with you in this thread. I certainly don't like the proposal of the devs at the moment. I don't rely mind skills in the game, but they should be hidden. Its by your actions that you know how good at it you are not some skill bar that you can see. And yes over time and the internet will tell you what you can do how long it will take you to get good at it, but you have to spend time doing it. What I would like to see is that if you don't use that skill for some time it starts to degrade as it would in real life. You have to keep the practice up to maintain that skill. It never drops to the starting point as you have already been good at it, eg you start at 1 point in that skill reach 30 points you don't use that skill say for 15 days it goes down to 10 and stays there until you use that skill again. And if people want to grind that's up to them, but in the grand scheme of things it only helps them at that moment in time not for the rest of the game. If you constantly do the same thing because that's what you wan't to do eg farm then you are good at it. I don't like this see saw skills thing.
  5. I like the Idea of prep before battle. Makes you think. Lets be honest ask any military person they have lots of magazines prepped before they go into any fight and they generally don't have that much loose ammunition around them if any. You run out of full mags you have run out of ammunition you borrow your mates (if your loading a mag in a fire fight you are out of action, bad planing and fire discipline). When ever I have been on ops I have never had loose ammo only full mags. Although I do agree about breaking the loading if you need it after you have run out for that last ditch effort how wouldn't in real life.

    Random loot spawn

    I would like to see more random placing of loot to entice me to look around a lot more. At the moment I feel like I know where to go to find things and some buildings I completely ignore as I know there is nothing of interest in them. Don't get me wrong if I'm looking for mil kit or medical items and such the better chance of finding them is at thoughs places and I'm using them as an example there are other items in the game that I know can be only found in one sort of building. It would be good to see the game being less formulaic in its loot spawn locations. If the did this I might like the zoning for loot that they are looking at, because it would be nice to see a small amount of those items else were. Variety is the spice of life and I think that could be said for where items of loot spawn in the game.
