That's a limitation of the game engine, may be something they can resolve for the standalone but it won't be fixed for the mod.
-
Until the tents are fixed, the vehicles are fixed and the hackers/script kiddies are dealt with there is no worth in this mod any more. It completely invalidates the premise of the game because there's no value to the persistant-world nature of the mod and devolves the whole affair into a short-lived deathmatch. Better off playing the Wasteland mod. It's not persistant, vehicles and weapons are far easier to come by. Fits with what DayZ currently offers in its ruined state. I want DayZ to work really badly, I love the idea of working hard to gain gear and get established in the world, but it's basically impossible so no point in playing :(

Week 3 Ivan and Martin arrested. Show them you care

The Greek authorities will probably send them home after they've worked out how to do so without looking completely stupid. Assuming this was all just some misunderstanding. -
How are they constant problems? Just eat and drink regularly and you won't have a problem... Bleeding is easily spotted by the debug monitor you so desperately desire to keep (which by it's very namesake, suggests it won't be staying, so better to get used to not having it).
-
So don't use the debug monitor, it's not needed... Also, if you have the debug monitor up, you know when you're dying of thirst or hunger because your blood starts going down, surely? Also, you can tell you're bleeding because blood comes out of your body (perhaps an issue on non-third-person servers) but again your blood is going down in the debug monitor.

What makes it unplayable?

Quote are you really gonna say with a straight face that 1.7.2.6 is a "step back" from 1.7.2.5? Yes. lol "Yes" is not an appropriate response to a question with the word "or" in it... are you getting artefacts from the dead soldiers? This release is only supposed to fix the dead soldiers glitching, not the barbed wire issues. The barbed wire artefacts are FAR less invasive and don't do much to ruin the game (in my experience, perhaps other have it worse) so the patch is NOT a step backwards, because the game is now entirely playable near Berezino, Elektro, Cherno, Stary, NWAF, Balota and anywhere else I haven't thought of...

You can tell by this guy's inability to put together a straightforward sentence that it's not worth engaging him in a sensible conversation. Seriously guys, pick your battles.

I'm quite pleased the debug monitor has gone. Without the kills being listed like that, hopefully it will begin to deter the deathmatchers who are really only playing so then can go shoot people. Perhaps they will revert back to Arma2 or get Arma3 when that arrives :-)
-
Good patch, thanks for fixing the dead bodies glitch, any explanation on the fix for that? Never saw the barbed wire glitch until this update, but it's not a big problem.

Should we remove barbed wire in the next update

Yes please. -
lol he did promise not to release updates on a Friday but that didn't last.

lol it is definately something to do with the corpses, it's got something to do with the different textures or something. I think it's because I'm playing on low-medium settings but my game doesn't actually render the corpses until I'm standing right next to them. I can follow the weird geometry directly to each individual corpse as that's where the lines lead from. The artefacts disappear once I'm standing right next to the corpses and they get drawn into the game. So clearly the issue is something to do with the textures the game is trying to render from a distance...

You make a fair point but the problem is that these guys are very quiet and don't seem to like to talk about what they're doing, or even aknowledge problems that people are seeing. For example, hotfixes always seem to be released late, which isn't a problem, but no update is given once it goes past the posted date. Then there's confusion because conflicting advice appears to be given to the various launchers/updaters and releases occur at times that were categorically ruled out. I'm not sure that any of this has ever been addressed or acknowledged by the team (if I am wrong, please point it out to me! Happily mistaken!). This game is a long way from dead, still enormous interest and the release of the standalone will draw back a lot of people that are currently becoming disenfranchised by the whole thing. But they need to actually communicate with the community to convince us that the mod isn't dead yet.
-
Aye, I really don't want to see interest in this game die out. Shouldn't be too much trouble to fix a couple of bugs, get the game back the way it was supposed to be played. Then people will only be annoyed with the shortcomings of the Arma engine and will be champing at the bit to get at the standalone.
-
They probably don't have any real interest in fixing bugs, just trying out new features. The mod is a dead end, they're only really interested in the standalone game. Trouble with that approach is that it makes testing new features pointless. You can see how the mechanics work in-game but the nature of the game is completely screwed. There are camps full of high-spec gear on all the servers I play on and a lot of people just go and gear up. It's pretty much one big deathmatch with no real adventure anymore. Hoping they bring out a working version of the standalone because if they release it in this kind of condition people will lose interest.

Bravo, you win the internets...

Did I kick your dog? I just asked a question.
-
Aren't Arma/OFP "mods" really just a set of scripts?
-
It's not always as simple as people think it is. I followed several guides, with little success until I started using Six Launcher. Then I had no more problems until they basically discontinued it after 1.7.2.5. I managed to get mine working manually only after I spotted a post mentioning copying the arma2.exe files across. Don't get on people's backs just because you didn't have trouble with it. It's the same thing as all the morons who say "it's definitely AA causing the glitches" or "v-sync always fixes the glitches" and then slag people off who still experience problems. No two systems are identical.
-
In an argument on the internet, nobody wins ^_^ So don't bother ffs
-
LMFAO You don't need hacks to decimate everything in East Elektro with an AS50. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
-
There's no need to be quite so abrasive. If you had been paying attention to the thousands of posts out there about the artefact issues, you would have noticed that not every case is exactly the same. What works for one, doesn't necessarily work for another. I don't use AA and I get the glitching quite badly. None of the "fixes" work for me, the only workaround is to restart the game in my case.
-
It does, yeah
-
Aye, I've tried all the "fixes" but literally the only thing that works is to restart the game. Gets rid of the glitches first time, every time ^_^
