I just crapped myself.. for a second anyway.
Cyric (DayZ) replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agreed. Last night my trio had a server hopper pop right in the center of us in a firehouse we just unfucked (removed wire/tank traps, sandbags), we shot him in the face and took his DMR after he cried friendly. :D -
I've never had this issue. I've had a similar issue where the option to take the meat has been delayed but never completely inaccessible.

what do you do when you get bored?

Lots and lots of threads about putting a confirmation trigger on the Respawn button, which I support, but I'd like to expand on that a bit. Storage receptacles such as tents/vehicles, they hold a limited amount of each category of item (weapon/tool, backpack, everything else) in the game. My suggestion is to add a warning trigger when you're about to exceed the maximum amount for said item instead of trying to stuff something into a full tent/vehicle and having it get eaten by the game. While not a tremendous issue by any means, it's rather aggravating to have a pair of NVGs or an M9SD get eaten because you forgot to remove your extra compass from the tent/vehicle. On a side note, I only seem to have this issue with the weapon/tool category of items, the "everything else" category will just dump excess items on the ground surrounding the tent/vehicle. I'd even be okay with weapons/tools dumping on the ground surrounding the tent, just make stuff stop getting eaten by time and space because I made a minor mathematical error or was absent minded for a moment. TL;DR - Add warning triggers to tents/vehicles for overflow of items/weapons/tools/etc.

Picking up better weapon with no ammo...
Cyric (DayZ) replied to br1ckwa11's topic in New Player Discussion
I don't know if I'd say it's "better" than the AK, but I prefer it myself. I'm trained on the M16/M4 rifle series IRL, so it's what I'm used to. I much prefer the M16/M4 sight picture/front sight post iron sights to the AK's open front sight post iron sights. Keep in mind that the weapons in this game are based on their RL counterparts, so a lot of weapons don't have massive benefits over another, majority of the time it's going to just come down to what the player prefers. -
Probably would help to find a map first, just my 2 cents. Also, when you log in there is a brief message in the bottom right corner of your screen that tells you your general whereabouts.

You have to understand that being on the internet means you're the center of the universe and thus, rules/regulations/guidelines do not apply to you. -

why cry over getting killed by players..
Cyric (DayZ) replied to lzugl's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
People cry over getting murdered because they either want player interaction (understandable, some of my best DayZ moments have involved player interaction) or they get too attached to their gear. Players get attached to their gear because they either don't understand a large portion of the game's concept or they're just bad players and as such, feel that reaching their former glory is going to be a lot of hard work. Not to toot my own horn, but I can get geared out (without exploits/hacks/tent hoards/etc) within 1 hour max. My logic dictates that if I can do it, so can you. Sadly, IMO, a good majority of gamers are fucking terrible... hence, they constantly whine, bitch, and moan until the bar is set lower for them. Many good gamers can attest to this as they've probably seen it happen in more than one online game before. I had my UAZ stolen right out from under my nose, thanks to a particular dumbass I won't name. Shortly after, I was killed and lost my NVGs... did I come running to the forums to make a QQ thread about it? No, I shrugged that shit off and kept it moving. Death is a part of life, virtual or real, accept that. -
Well played, sir. I approve.

Picking up better weapon with no ammo...
Cyric (DayZ) replied to br1ckwa11's topic in New Player Discussion
30rnd STANAG mags are quite common actually, personally I'd have taken the M16. I also prefer that weapon series over the AK's. -
So what you're saying is you have the potential to care even less than you do already' date=' therefore hinting that you actually do have some level of attachment to your gear. Unless, of course, you meant you [b']couldn't care less... which would actually make sense, given the context of your post. Never once had this issue. Perhaps you should re-evaluate your position before you log out in the future.
