    Your face is carebear.

    Hello/Friendly/Don't Shoot

Or... you could use direct comms and say that with your mic.

    Selecting primary weapon?

You play a couple single player tutorial missions, that's how. EDIT: *sigh* Right click the hatchet to put it in your primary slot. Pistols and whatnot should automatically equip when picked up, otherwise use your mouse wheel. There aren't any tutorial videos because it's already included in the game...

    Zombies are too strong! (1.7.2.3)

My desire to be helpful relates directly to how redundant a thread is usually, sorry to disappoint you. But feel free to judge my character based on a single post, I don't mind at all.

    Bandits - another whiner

I agree with this post. My only concern is how easy it is to get your hands on a stockpile of weapons and ammunition. Just recently, I had a tent loaded with 2 M107s, an AS50, a DMR, an SVD Camo, M16A1 M203, MP5A5SD, 2 M9SDs, an M4A1 CCO SD, a handful of frags, NVGs, Rangefinders, etc etc... Meanwhile this stuff all just sits in my tents because wandering through Elektro/Cherno for all of 5 minutes will yield me a fairly serviceable gun I can then use to put a hole in someone's face and then BAM, I suddenly have military grade gear and plenty of ammunition. I don't promote the nerfing of PvP or support any sort of reward/punishment system, but I still think getting your hands on decent gear is too easy in the game's current incarnation.
  6. I want to invite you to hang out with our clan, but I'm not the social one in the group... lol. You're welcome to come to US100 and hop on our Mumble if you'd like, we're usually online in the afternoon/evening time.

    Bandits - another whiner

You know, my initial reaction is to flame and troll you briefly before I move on... but I actually had a similar thought last night. While I, like you, have no issue with the PvP and banditry, I feel like military grade weapons and ammunition are a bit too commonplace. I kind of feel like functioning military grade gear should be very difficult to obtain and ammunition for all weaponry should be greatly reduced. Logically speaking I'd imagine a great deal of ammunition was expended trying to thwart the zombie outbreak and considering all us "looters" roaming around I think it should be a bit more scarce.
  8. Download the latest beta patch, which is highlighted in green at the top of that link (95208 currently), and join a server that is also updated. This should solve your problem, if it doesn't, make sure your BattlEye client is properly updated as well.
  9. A buddy and I were in this situation once after hatcheting a sniper and his spotter to death, lol. To the point, I started to slap a blood transfusion on him immediately and it hit him at literally 50 blood, then I bandaged him. The reason I went with the transfusion was because there were still zombies wandering around. Think about what is most important (best) for any given situation.

    Zombies are too strong! (1.7.2.3)

Terrified in my first 10 minutes

    Enjoy your stay. ;)

    Bad version, server rejected connection?

This. My squad and I were having intermittent server errors for a bit, some of us could login while others couldn't blah blah blah. Patch 95208 came out, we updated our main server, updated our clients, good to go. ;)
  14. It's incredible how retarded this generation of gamers is. "Wah wah wah, I can't figure out basic controls to a game with tutorials built into it and a detailed control menu! This game sucks!" Give me a fucking break. If you're THAT incompetent then you're right, perhaps the game isn't for you... jesus, I bought ArmA 2 for DayZ also. You know what I did to learn the completely unfamiliar controls? Played a couple of the tutorial missions, looked in the controls menu, and POW! somehow I magically play like a boss now... who knew. P.S. I understand how some of the controls are a bit elusive, but for the most part if you can't figure out how to do basic shit than you're just special and should stick your head in a paper bag and set it on fire.

    New guy needs some tutoring!

I'm not from Sweden and it's too early in the morning for me to calculate time zones, but I'm willing to post some tips to hopefully help you out. Weapons are kind of a hit or miss in the beginning, sometimes you'll get lucky and find a gun real quick and other times it'll take ages. This sort of leads into your #2 also, most of the buildings in DayZ are not enterable and I believe this is an ArmA 2 limitation. As you play more, you'll get used to the types of buildings that are commonly enterable. It took me a little getting used to in the beginning as well, a good starter rule of thumb is if you can't see inside a building than it probably isn't enterable. Keep an eye out for brown cabin-like structures, churches, firehouses (they have big red bay doors and a tower), grocery stores, and bright red brick buildings. As for sneaking, meh. My squad and I used to sneak a lot and we were damn good at it... but with the ever changing tweaks to zombies, we just sprint through towns with a zombie train now unless we're actively hunting someone. As zombies are right now (1.7.2.3), they are more likely to notice your visibility than they are to notice your audibility. I've had a zombie aggro from nearly 100m away before while I was crouched in a field, lol. Anyhow, hope this helps and good luck.

    Idea: kits/ loadouts

Hmm... I could possibly get behind this, provided it doesn't get retarded. /signed (for now)

How does one Create a DayZ Server?

    LOL! Beat me to it.
  18. I was unaware that DayZ was intended to be a PvE based game... how the hell did this PvP get in here!?
  19. This pretty much sums up how myself, and probably most of the posters to follow, feel about your "debate".

    DayZ De-Motivational Posters

  21. I'd imagine the difference would be negligible, but I'm no expert on .50 caliber sniper rifles.
  22. Cyric (DayZ)

    What weapons are in DayZ?

    Try this.
  23. I updated to the latest ArmA patch (91568) at http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/ and manually installed the BattlEye update (I don't have the link for that), now I can join most servers. I'm assuming ones with the 'wait for host' error don't have their servers properly updated since I have everything updated on my end.
  24. Cyric (DayZ)

What happens when you log off?

You vanish into the infinite cosmos until you decide to grace the DayZ universe with your presence once again. EDIT: You do not consume water/food while logged out, you used to, but it was removed.

    I think I understand bandits

I love how anti-bandit some of this community is, lol. Kudos to the OP for his "I'm better than the common riffraff" moment or whatever.
