  1. There are several vehicles scattered around the map that do not work and cannot be repaired. Some look like they are wrecked, others I am not sure. It would be great if there was a way to repair or despawn them. I have heard that if you take all the items & attachments off, then blow up or shoot them until they blow up that they will despawn. I haven't seen a single vehicle despawn since they were released about a week ago, and it's getting to the point that all the vehicles in the server are wrecked. It also seems since the damaged vehicles aren't despawning, new ones aren't respawning either. Does anyone have any helpful tips or information?
  2. I would say the forums...the feedback tracker is hard to use, navigate and read. Plus if you use the feedback tracker , you most likely wont get any feedback ironically. In the forums people will probably comment or point you to an older thread if one exists.

    DayZ will not launch

it sounds like your graphics card doesnt support dx 11. Im betting your gpu is out of date and doesn't support modern games. Time to upgrade :)

    Status Report - 8 March 2018

I literally just asked someone last night if chenarus was modeled after a real place. Definitely will have to plan a visit
  5. I want to see some medical crafting personally. It would be great if we could gather different herbs and plants to make things like antibiotics or pain killers. I may actually start a farm if we can get something from it besides food :)

    Weird fact...(Wolves)

Ive had that happen several times, and also different variations of that behavior. There have been times I heard the howl but not the wolves, and there have been times I dont hear a howl at all and suddenly a pack of wolves is at my heels

    Auto Bloody Run

Easiest way I've found to auto run is to just unplug your keyboard while you are sprinting. You can plug it right back in but your player will keep sprinting until you hit the sprint button again.

    Reporting in for an update!

You can still get an exact player count for each server through steam once you are logged in. Bring up the steam overlay, and click on players. It will list every player on your current server, which makes this a non issue. The whole point of getting rid of an exact player count on the server browser was to spread out the population among all the servers so there aren't 3 or 4 full servers and 50 empty ones. As a result of players being more spread out among all servers, it helps to curb server hopping as well. Also, there has been a patch at least once a week, sometimes more than that, for at least a few months now. Updates are coming a lot quicker than they used to. Something you may be missing also: they made some major map changes, adjusted the loot spawn and changed a few key mechanics regarding zombies and predator AI over the past year. As a result of those changes, the hot spots for player interaction have changed. You may have better luck finding people if you change the regular spots that you used to run to a year ago for player interaction. I always find people at Tisy and near the northeastern coastal cities. EDIT: The stable branch of servers have no vehicles at the moment. They are only in experimental servers currently. If you are only playing experimental, that is the reason you can't find anyone. Stable has a much higher population compared to experimental

    Tie up infected

It would be awesome if we could tie or handcuff infected, making them basically harmless but still loud. It would create for interesting gameplay in many aspects, especially if you could untie them and/or they eventually break loose. I want a zombie pit in my future base for people that try to break in :)

Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

You have a top end PC...not sure if you are seriously asking if you can run DayZ? There isnt a game you cant play while streaming with maxed out settings on 1080p.

    Missing cartridges

This I agree on. +1 to this thread :)

    Windows, glass + Gas Canisters

I would like to add fences here...I admittedly haven't tried since like .59 but chain link fences were/are bullet proof. Also, the little wooden fences for residential houses used to be bulletproof as well.

    Missing cartridges

What does being a UK citizen have to do with anything? lol. There is a perception that every American is a gun enthusiast, and it couldn't be further from the truth. I am an American, and I hardly know anything about guns in real life, yet was still able to follow most of what he said. Since you are from the UK, I just have to assume it's a reading comprehension issue, cause you know, people from the UK can't read very well. See what I did there? :)

    Vehicle sound systems

I actually like the idea...just because its an apocalypse, it doesnt mean CDs and cassette tapes vanish or dont exist. If you dont like it or dont care about it, you should be able to just leave it off. It's little things like music that make the world feel alive and lived in, which iverall make the game more immersive. I always compare open world games to witcher 3, because they nailed the little details of things and people who would actually exist in the world. +1 for music/recordings in vehicles

    Public Hives and Base Building

I actually hope that will eventually happen. +1
  17. I don't remember who asked in another thread, but they had a great question. When the experimental fixes for .61 are finished, and they get pushed to stable, will there be a character wipe on stable branch? Also, is there any way to make the x64 client the default client? For example, when using steam to join a friend's server, it will automatically launch the 32bit. Double clicking the desktop icon also launches the 32 bit client by default. Is there a way to change the default client that is launched?
  18. JBURNS489

    Two Questions Regarding Stable .61

They wouldn't have to change the minimum requirements if they gave us the option of changing our default client. A lot of games have recommended specs and minimum specs. Minimum specs would stay the same at 32 bit. Not sure why there would be an issue there? It's the same as adjusting in game settings to the highest possible. Just because the game launches with high settings has no impact on what the minimum requirements are for everyone else. Also, I haven't been able to find a way to change the desktop icon to launch the 64 bit client, hence this post. If anyone finds a way, please share :)

    Ravens

If they would circle all dead bodies, and not just player corpses, I could see it working. Otherwise it could be abused to find player corpses. Also, it would be great to hear a gunshot in the distance and see a flock of birds flying from a tree in that direction.

    [New Zombie Type] Cave Dwellers

I like your enthusiasm, but I think this idea would work better in a different game for a couple reasons. 1.) DayZ stands for Day Zero, and we do not have zombies. We have living, breathing, infected humans. Not the undead. I always imagine everyone has like a bad case of rabies or something lol 2.) There are no caves, mine shafts, or burrows that I am aware of in all of Chenarus. While I love the idea of caves and such, I am pretty sure I read a dev post saying it would never happen in DayZ. The reasoning was something about nav mesh and x, y, z coords. I can't remember exactly.

    Dayz does not start

Go into steam, your library, right click on dayz and hit properties. Go over to the local files tab, and hit verify integrity of game cache. Is this the first time you've ever tried to launch DayZ, or was it working before with a previous version? If verifying the cache doesn't do anything, I would suggest re installing DayZ, and also make sure there are no launch options through steam.

    Character maneuver

https://trello.com/b/5yzeFpo2/dayz is probably the best place to easily see what is being experimented on, and what is being worked on for upcoming builds. There are a lot of weapons and clothing incoming, but they are also re doing the player animations and controller, and a whole bunch of map updates which include thicker forests and ivy growing on abandoned buildings. I usually watch the forums for the Status Reports, which happen every two weeks.

    Character maneuver

You would have yourself a ton of time writing that book of a comment if you had read some status reports or looked into whats coming for DayZ :) they are almost ready to implement a new player controller system that will supposedly fix all of your concerns. My guess is either the next patch or possibly the next patch after that. The only true content i have seen added recently would be a pair of sneakers. There havent been any new weapons in almost a year, that im aware of anyway. No new vehicles either. You could make the argument that predatory wolves are new content, buts that neither here nor there. The menu changes, shadows and lighting systems, dynamic zombie spawns and audio updates are all part of implementing the new engine. I think the Devs are already doing exactly what you're asking..now its your turn to do your part, and read up on the planned changes and patches before posting any more silly comments :)

    Add in a Benchmark

I dont expect anything like this soon, but I would love to see a built in benchmarking feature, similar to GTA. I know it probably wouldn't even be on the Dev's radar until late beta, maybe even possibly post 1.0. But, I just got a new graphics card (msi 1070) and while I definitely notice an improvement on performance, it would be great to know exactly how much. It would also help to figure out what graphical settings to use for best overall peformance. I like to turn on as much eye candy as possible while staying above 60fps. EDIT: it would also show off the peformance of the shiny new renderer :)

    Add in a Benchmark

Yeah that is what I have been doing, but it isn't a fair comparison at the moment. Your FPS can vary depending on a lot of factors, which is why I would like a standardized benchmark. Your FPS could vary depending on amount of time a server is up, how many players are logged in, how many players are near you, what you look at (sea vs city), your ping to the server, how much loot is in the area you're running through etc...Benchmarks done on our own give us an idea, but nowhere close to what I would call reproducible or accurate enough to say, "use these settings for this amount of fps on this type of system" There is no point in making a benchmark feature now though, because there is so much change happening and your FPS will vary greatly depending on which build you are playing. Best to wait until it's near a final release and make one for sure. I just hadn't seen a suggestion for this yet, and wanted to make sure I threw in my two cents :)
