You haven't played the Mod have you? If you did, you would know this is far easier said than done. Vehicles were the prime example of Murphy's Law. Edit: What I mean about the Mod is, a proper Vanilla one without 5000 vehicles at the ready.

I think more are just glazing over that fact in disbelief, most not coming from the true vanilla Mod where cars were a bitch to acquire and maintain. From what I have read/heard, vehicles in the SA are going to take even more of an effort. Oh the unhappy ones we'll see after vehicles are implemented, even though they were forewarned about how much of an effort it will be just to get one going. Never-mind maintaining and actually keeping it for more than a day.

I'm just thinking it will be something that is easy to implement, uses fuel, needs parts and is something they can test those features with. A bicycle won't do that, nor a unicycle. A space shuttle could be end game material, when they allow space stations and colonizing other Zed infested planets.

Hicks stated in one of his recent streams that the first vehicle will NOT be a bicycle. Maybe an ATV or Scooter perhaps? Regardless of what it is, vehicles will not be instant transport across the map as some think they'll be.

With persistence and loot respawning, isn't spawning loot on server restart done away with? Afaik this is how it works. So, to wait for a server restart and hop to a freshly restarted server for fresh loot is meaningless because it doesn't happen. -

So, either someone has found yet another way to crash a server and hang it or it was just a fluke. Just had a random server crash with the "wait for host" when trying to log in. Time to investigate.

It was happening to my server before the last patch and people crashing the server with the splint bug. The server would hang and would have to be restarted manually, if not started manually it would just hang there until the automatic restart kicked in which if not caught could be an hour or more. Currently this problem is non existent for me but Vilayer has said they did some work on their ACP which could of rectified the issue. In saying that I did have an issue after the latest patch with the ACP not sending a manual restart request to the server, which after sending Vilayer a vid they fixed the issue. I would maybe keep hounding Gameservers or just move GSP's if they can't/won't do anything. Moving will obviously screw up your ranking but meh, rank in all actuality means squat and you shouldn't be worried about that aspect of running a server.

This is a bug, and happened to 2 people that were in a server event last night. One was in a bush and laid down with nobody around upon login the other just started running upon login, they both died instantly without cause. This was directly after a server restart so for someone to login get a bead on them and kill them is pretty unlikely. They got messages stating that their legs are in pain, their legs are broke then dead.

There are a few of us that do take the time to change the in game server time regularly to accommodate a day/night cycle. ;)

You can't have 6hr restarts. By default most will restart after 4hrs automatically, I've heard some GSP's are 2hrs and if this is the case you can set the server for a shorter restart time but not a longer one.

You shouldn't be able to respawn until "you're dead". While unconscious you could be saved by your white knight in shining armour. Why should you deny yourself of such a thing? -

I don't think they're much of a problem as they once were. With people reporting them and GSP's actually seeming to shut them down, is it really the issue you claim it to be? Or is it just me, not seeing nearly as many people on these forums complaining about them? -
I have found bandanas pretty much everywhere. Really not hard to find. Although, there are some you can't put on your face but I would guess they just haven't been configured yet.

Public hives are not allowed to be passworded, therefore a clan would not be able to hoard gear and bounce from server to server. Private/passworded servers are a shard of the main hive but still a separate entity. OT: No, tents should not be carried over from server to server once placed. If you want to pack it up and take it with you to another server, that's all good. Being able to instantly have a camp on every server you go to, is silly and just looking for an easy way out. Nevermind how it would work if there is another tent from another player in the same spot. -

There is no time acceleration, on Vilayer at least. You can switch the server in game time but that's about it.

I think most of us started over due to the character wipe on Exp. The problem is more people are used to having things pretty much handed to them. If you look hard enough you WILL find what you need to survive. -

The long server restart times are indeed a good thing, shows that there is some stability going on now. As for the lack of finding items, I have had really no issues in staying alive and finding sustenance. So many buildings I go into people obviously haven't checked thoroughly because I find a lot of things to eat/drink that others obviously don' find important. Seems that a lot of people just blaze through buildings looking for weapons and leave most everything else that can help them survive behind. Hicks in his current stream has stated that survival items do need to be increased a tad but restarts are as intended. He even stated that he is going to recommend that servers restart every 12 hrs, whether that happens or not is another story. People are really going to have to realize that DayZ is going to be a real survival game not just stating that it is, when it's not. They are staying true to what they've stated all along and this is a good thing! -

Maybe they want to see how long a server goes without running like ass before a restart is necessary. Just a thought.
