Yeah I do understand there will/should be a lot of back and forth on this in the SA but I look at it as... If the Zeds are a true threat, people WILL have to think about shooting first. Will it stop the KOS mentality? Not totally but shooting first will have to be a conscious decision(at least in Zed populated areas) and not just a reaction when seeing another player, or Zeds for that matter. Hopefully they can get the number of Zeds in game they have talked about. Only time will tell but I have faith! I only try to justify my statement with real world scenarios due to seeing the argument over and over about the DayZ Zeds not being undead but infected people. :) -

About the Zeds... They need to hit harder and need to take more damage, at least to the body. No, not headshot only but watching the Twitch vid I was bit disappointed in seeing how easy the Zeds were to take down (I know it's alpha and may change). One shot to the body was all it took to bring down a Zed, it should really take more than that. A headshot would instakill a Zed but body shots, it should take 4, 5 maybe 6. I know they're infected people and not actually the living dead but, considering people whacked out on ICE or whatever and seeing news reports of them actually taking massive damage to the body before actually dropping. Also these whacked out people seem to have superhuman strength and be able to do some major damage. It may be a disease that these people are infected with but if a narcotic can do shit like this why can't an infection? Now, that makes Zeds scary. I have personally seen on my server, where people actually have to think first before shooting a Zed or another person because if there are other Zeds around it can turn out to be a bad scene for them. Being mobbed by Zeds that actually WILL hurt you and not go down easily. I'm probably used to my DayZ server where Zeds have always been a true threat and not just a minor annoyance. ;) -

Unfortunately HFB is lack luster in it's support, ended up shutting down a server because of it. Anyway, make sure that the mod you're installing is updated to the current version. Look under the "Updates" button in the control panel. If you're trying to connect with an updated Epoch client to a non updated Epoch server it will give you a "Wait for Host" error. I give Epoch as an example and will happen even with Vanilla. Hope this helps. -
Having WP's is easy mode imo. I've always had them off on my servers and they really don't belong in the SA or the Mod for that matter. As far as GPS is concerned, maybe leave them in but have them extremely rare, need batteries, and only partially work in the SA.

I'm not understanding why people cannot grasp the concept of no matter what engine the mod is on, it is still a mod and will always be limited by the engine no matter how you slice it. The mod will always be buggy and somewhat broken because of these limitations. Whereas with the SA the engine can be tailored, rewritten and things added due to having access to the engine itself. Yeah, ArmA3 has some good stuff in it's engine but no matter what, that engine cannot be touched just by modding and that limitation in itself is why the mod will never be as good as the Standalone. You can say what you will but this is a simple understanding that a lot of people just seem to glaze over and really don't grasp or they just refuse this fact. A mod is a mod, the ability to tailor an engine is a another kettle of fish.

Donating to a server is one thing and honestly, more people should just donate to their favourite server without having advantages over other people as an incentive. No matter how small that advantage is, it's still an advantage and is "Pay to Win". The privilege of playing on a good server on someone else's dime should be incentive enough to cough up a few $$ to help pay for it. They are in fact giving you a decent server to play on and should be reciprocated in return.

3rd person adds many advantages than 1st person and they're all pointed out in Dslyecxi's vid. Whether you want to believe it or not, seeing around corners and whatnot should not be part of 3rd person if they can do it. I'm not against 3rd person view but it needs a complete overhaul and if they can't fix the way it is in the Mod for the SA then it needs to be removed. The reasoning that some give that they want to see their character and how they look, well you can see that in the gear UI in the SA. People have gotten to used to the 3rd person view; and as creatures of habit; change doesn't go over too well with most. Regardless, the advantages of 3rd person need to be rectified. In saying that, first person needs some fixing too... Riding in some vehicles; the ATV for example; makes the view jump around so much that it can make you sick and is not very pleasant. -

So, if that so called "quote" was actually taken far before E3(which I highly doubt), why would it have any relevance to the SA? When we know that anything said or seen at E3 is what counts. Your response sir, is irrelevant.

It's funny how people seem to pull stuff out of thin air and twist Rocket's words to their liking, quoting when it really isn't a quote or taking things completely out of context. In all the info I've seen from E3 he has always said that Zeds and the Environment will be the threat. People come to these twisted conclusions by obviously not listening or comprehending what they read fully. Much like not reading this thread from the beginning and bitching about the Zeds being nerfed... *sigh*

I am getting multiple people spawning into the Debug Zone continuously. Some can log out and log back in normally, others it may take multiple times to login normally and others still may not be able to login normally until a server restart. Not exactly sure what is causing this problem but had to do 2 server restarts within about 3 - 4hrs. Some of these people have stated that it's happening on other servers as well but I haven't seen anything posted. All scripts have been updated from Github as of this morning. Could this be the anti teleport doing the dirty or something else?

Would be a good thing to check your .rpt file to find any kind of errors occurring. Maybe post that up on the opendayz Sarge AI subsection, it's hard to actually know what's exactly is going on without seeing your mission.pbo and the like. I would maybe start fresh from backups and edit the files you need to, a bit at a time. Did you follow the install instructions on Github?

AI is tough and there to supplement the server population not for something easy to shoot at to get gear. The despawn of the AI is set on a timer where it makes it pretty tough to loot them. I have also tweaked them so the server performs well with no bogging. There is certain hotspots on the map like there should be. Good stuff! -
