Honestly, it doesn't change the way I play. I am very untrusting of anyone I don't know personally and always have been, just the way to survive. In saying that, I will always help if I can whether or not I get punched in the head while rummaging through my backpack, poked with a rusty screwdriver while bandaging or being shot repeatedly in the face after stating "I'm here to help". Them KoSers sure are a silly lot.

It does happen every so often, whether it's a bug or not is debatable. ;)

Spent a couple days running around up North up past NWAF, meandered East to Berezhino to look for supplies after that. Made it out of that place alive only to make it to Elektro, get punched in the head and knocked unconscious on top of the hospital before I could get my pistol out. Did meet a few people along the way that didn't KOS which was a pleasant sight. Now it's time to do it all over again. :lol:

Oh I definitely know this is the case and people will just post because they need the attention. I just felt that keeping this thread up may do some good, because it definitely won't hurt. I sort the forums by new content mostly and seeing 5 different threads on basically the same subject within minutes of each other is horrifying let alone frustrating, and I'm not even a Mod. I can't imagine how the Mods feel when they see shit like that.

The Steam overlay works just fine in the SA and is as quick as typing in Direct. There are other overlays that are out there as well so I don't think this is really an issue that doesn't have a fix.

Admins do not currently have a lot of features as of yet(server restart warnings is one of them), we do have the Kick function. Which doesn't do a hell of a lot but it's something. I am hopeful the next patch will contain some of the features we need, MOTD's, Reserved slots and GMT settings to name a few.

You can type in direct chat by hitting "/" key. There is no side chat enabled and I hope it stays that way.

Let's keep this thread as close to the top as possible because people obviously haven't a clue on how to use this basic function. All these redundant threads when people could actually be posting in the proper thread. Lets learn how to properly use forums people! Just sayin...

Give it time, things will change once features are implemented. It is far too early in the piece. With nothing else to do or no kind of external consequence, KoS is rampant. I firmly believe it will change.

We will never see 3rd person removed because it's so engrained into the game. What I am hoping to see is it to be at least fixed to a point where it can't be used the way it's used now. Peaking around corners or over walls without risk is something that really doesn't belong in DayZ. Yeah sure, you can say "Everyone can do it so it doesn't matter" but it's the advantage to the person peeking around that corner at that particular time that has the advantage. Not the dude that is unaware that someone is around that corner that can't see, but he can be. There is a distinct advantage there and a lot of the 3rd person advocates refuse to see this advantage. There are lots of threads with ideas on how to fix 3rd person view and I think variations will be tried in the SA in order to find one that works. We can only hope for a fix for the advantage 3rd person gives but removal of it I don't think is the answer.

It's a well known issue and will be fixed. Also been covered in multiple threads along with server hopping, search function is your friend. ;)

I believe he mentioned this in his last stream and instead they were thinking of going with a monocular sort of thing. They did say something about NVG's being to OP and would want to go with something that wasn't or something to that effect.

I almost guarantee that server would have to be restarted like every 5 minutes due to the instability of having 127 players on it, 40 player cap is pushing it at this point.

I guarantee this would be the hardest work that anyone would/could ever do, to make climbing Everest seem like a walk in the park is a sign of total ignorance... Just sayin.

Client/Server versions should be exactly the same, which is 113860 or 0.30.113860 to be exact. Experimental client/server versions are 113925. What the OP is saying is that some servers that he is seeing say 133860, which would be; in theory; a typo.

I think you need to pay more attention to Twitter son... There have been people working over the Christmas holiday to fix stuff. Patch is being tested on the experimental servers as we speak so there's nothing saying that we won't be getting a patch in the coming week. Awesome to see someone so positive such as yourself. ;)

^This. It should in fact be 113860. Not sure if I would use the Beta patch either, from what I have read there is very limited, if any servers out there atm.

Server hopping = Bad! Lost all your gear, sort of serves you right. Thing is, gear loss this early in the piece is a given. You shouldn't get too attached to it.
