One thing to remember and is an absolute must above anything else. This is Alpha! The game currently is very buggy, lots of features are missing and you WILL lose gear/characters due to wipes or maybe server changing. As long as you expect and know this, all is good. Welcome to DayZ!

First rule of DayZ is... Don't get attached to your gear especially this early in the piece. Secondly, did you pull this arbitrary month time frame out of your arse? They've been pretty good with patches imo so to give a time frame such as this for a patch is slightly ignorant... Are you a DayZ Dev or just trolling to get a rise out of people? I think the latter but hey, what do I know.

I tend to remain unseen until I want to be seen like most who have voted 0. You survive by whatever works for you, not shooting everyone in the face on sight works for me.

Not sure if you've tried turning VSync on, VSync prevents tearing and that's really what it looks like to me. I do get some flickering of textures but it's a definite flickering not tearing like this looks. I have a AMD 7870 2gig and run with VSync off.

Absolutely ^this. Although, I think people will be in for some surprises during Alpha. When they start implementing the features that makes DayZ what it is, you will see people like the OP being the first ones to bitch. The Zeds are too tough/many, infection/sickness is too tough or environmental factors are ruining my PvP! You watch... ;)

A this moment in time we can only restart, kick, set MOTD's and set the in game time in which the server restarts at. There is no way possible that an Admin can know where players are or help others cheat and I hope there never is. Although we do need some other tools for us to properly Admin, spawning items, teleporting and the like aren't any of them. GMT offset, server restart warnings and RCon capabilities are.

This is a false statement... I have my server set to Day during my TZ daytime hours(GMT+11) at 9pm I switch to night 12am in game. The moon is up and shining at this point and it is not pitch black. The server does drop in pop but it's far more than 2 or 3, more like 15 to 20 sometimes more. Not saying the night time is perfect, it needs some work but 24/7 day is just easy mode. If server Admins had a GMT offset(which there isn't currently) all problems would be solved as far as TZ's are concerned. There are people who do like the night, I am one of them and do NOT use gamma or brightness to cope, that's for pansies. You can't generalize people because not everyone exploits and wants easy mode, it sounds more like an excuse than anything else.

To the OP. Is this really a surprise? As far as I'm aware it has always been known that the game wouldn't be in Beta for at least a year after Alpha release. Not sure what the joke is because; as someone else stated; it can be up to 5 years to fully develop and release a game, especially an MMO. Why some think that a game such as this can be just slapped together and released to the masses, I have no idea. Is this EA?

A heat issue will cause a PC to shut down unexpectedly, being a laptop they are prone to getting pretty hot playing games. What other games do you play on that laptop and have no problems with? Is there a discrete video card or just the one on the processor? I didn't see one listed.

DayZ is not a game of convenience, never has been and never will be.

I believe $30 is a drop in the bucket compared to some of the shite that I've bought for double or even triple that(yeah AU, games are exy) and these are triple AAA games. I think what it comes down to is this, if you don't want or like the fact that you have to pay $30 or think the game is a rip off don't buy it. Simple isn't it? Although, buying it now you're getting it cheaper than Beta or full release. So to each his own. I guess to come here and express your opinion is all good but some of your statements are obviously based on poorly following the development of the SA. May I suggest reading up before you make false claims on certain facts, then post? I dunno, it may be just me but you seem very misinformed.

Really no issue finding food myself , whether it be canned goods or the occasional fresh piece of fruit. This is where small towns especially come in handy because not many visit them and food should be rather easy to find in these residential places.

So far have gotten one brief instance of rubberbanding and brief as in like a split second. Using stuff and UI seems more responsive and it seems that turning clouds back on doesn't cause a stutter/pause every so often. Not sure if the cloud stutter was fixed last patch or this one and I only played for about 40mins but so far things are quite smooth. Thanks for the hotfix!

It's a queueing system as Rocket describes if you followed the link I posted. But meh, who wants to follow links and find information properly on a forum. ;)

Fix for combat logging is coming as posted in this thread. And a search would've found a trillion threads on the subject anyway. ;)

We'll see about that in a few more months. ;)
