Absolutely not! If you knew Smed's track record on Sandbox MMO's you wouldn't be worried either. F2P but early access for $20? The $20 is what they're counting on and then all will turn to shit and P2W. -
Remove Zombies until they're fixed.

When Zeds are fixed the next thing will be "remove Zeds completely cos they're op!" Because at that point they'll run through the only entrance/exit and you'll be fucked anyway, if you're not smart. Zeds as a true threat is a good thing to see and if you can't handle it now there's no way you'll handle them when they're fixed. There will be more of them and they'll haunt you like a bad case of the runs. Get used to them being a threat cos they're not going away. -
Actually, there are many instances reported that a person has lived 10 to 15 seconds(maybe more depending on how much of the heart is destroyed) before all blood to the brain is depleted after being shot in the heart. With an infected, a lot can happen within that time span. Since the infected are what they are, shock and such by being hit by a bullet is out the window. Not saying it should still take a ridiculous amount of body shots to drop a Zed(Infected) but it should definitely take more than it does now. You should also be able to blow the legs out on a Zed to slow them to a crawl. There was a script I used when I ran a DayZ Mod server that made Zeds headshot insta kill, crawled when hit in the legs and they took about 5 to 6 body shots to actually drop. Those Zeds were pretty nasty indeed and those are the Zeds I hope we get. ;)

Bring on the fog from Arma3, it adds a whole other dynamic to the game as well as brilliant atmosphere. Although the fog in the mod was kinda meh, it still brought an atmosphere to it especially when it got really thick. The more variables in the game, such as weather, disease and the like the better I say.

A headshot should kill an infected on the spot but they should be killed via body shots as well, albeit more than one shot to the body. People say that these infected are just human and should go down like a normal human but if this infection is anything like a tweaked out human on Meth or insert other hardcore drug here, it would take more than one shot to the body to kill it. So in other words they're not normal human beings and whatever they're infected with obviously makes them somewhat superhuman, they need to be looked at as such and dealt with accordingly.

What do you think full modding support will do to DayZ

Although we may get some cool things out of the Modding community like new maps, it will end up like the Mod if Modding is not controlled. A multitude of BS servers with a 1000 vehicles, pay to win features, easy mode, Admin cheat tools and whatever else. Modding is not all bad but it needs some kind of management and not be able to be done willy nilly. They also shouldn't add modding until the actual final release of the game. I really hope they keep tight reigns on modding of the SA because the path of least resistance mostly killed the Vanilla Mod. Some say modding will add features like base building and better Zeds but I think by the time they're finished with the game these will be implemented anyway so those points are kind of moot. -
I also do believe that Zeds as a threat as well as environmental and physical variables will help reduce KOS. In saying that though, the mention of modding by Rocket at the recent Rezzed we will most likely start to see shit that happened to the Mod. PvE only servers, PvP servers without Zeds and a multitude of BS servers that split the Mod community and made DayZ Mod just plain easy mode. I may be wrong but unless they keep tight reigns on the modding, I see the SA heading the way the mod has. Some mods were decent but there was more bad than good that came out of modding the mod. I just see the same shit happening all over again... Vanilla DayZ SA against everything else.

Solving problem of kill on sight - Vehicles.

All vehicles will do is give players another reason to shoot you in the face for it. Will it give us something else to do? Yes Will it stop KOS? Hell no! When implemented, vehicles will not be an easy thing to acquire and when you do acquire one you will most likely be shot for the one you have. You WILL be shot for your bicycle! Will KOS ever be gone? No, but making that KOSer have to think about taking that shot in the first place is a good way to diminish it. Zeds as a threat and getting swarmed by taking that shot is one thought that must be taken into consideration now. -

We did try Vilayer but after about a week we found that support just wasn't any good among other things. We have ultimately gone with MPGS and have had no issues and support has been decent. -

HIHB Regular and Hardcore servers are up at the moment. Regular server is temporary and will be brought down permanently within 2 weeks. Hardcore will remain as always on new IP. -
I do and am in the shoes of the people you speak of, that IS why I said what I said. If you rent/own a server purely for the monetary value you think it will get you, then you're sorrily mistaken and you're in it for the wrong reasons. Again, nobody said donations and/or profit was a bad thing but to be solely in it for the so called profit isn't(imo) a good reason to Admin a server. If you did actually comprehend the posts made then you would not be so up in arms about things that weren't even mentioned.

Good developers do it for the love of the game they're making, profit is a by-product if they do it well. Streamers and Server Admins is kind of an apples to oranges comparison and nobody said donations were bad or to be stopped. I think you need to reread and comprehend what was said.

Honestly, running a server should not be about making money from it, It should be for the love of the game and to run a decent server for the community. If your reasoning behind running a server is to make money, you're in it for all the wrong reasons. Not saying that donations aren't a good thing but it shouldn't be about making a profit, it's about being able to make the server at least pay for itself. If you can make a server pay for itself then you're doing ok.

I can't even see how anyone would think that a high priority would have to be set on Mods. Seriously, the game isn't even finished yet. Why would you mod it? We will have basebuidling and other mechanics in the game by the time it's finished or are you just too impatient to wait? Maybe when it is finished and everything the Devs want to ad is in the game, then think about giving it to modders. Rocket has said modding is also going to be a lot more structured than in the Mod. What this means is not totally clear but I'll bet modding will not be as freely done like it was in the Mod. Basically, modding should wait until the game is finished.

Just switched providers due to some performance issues. New IP for Hardcore updated in OP, old IP is set to regular until expired. There should be an MOTD in the regular server that gives you the IP for the Hardcore server as well. Last resort is to switch providers but I go where we get the best performance/service. -

They would have to be announcing the server restarts manually, there is no other way to do it currently. Very much hoping BEC or something like it will be implemented reasonably soon, loved BEC with the Mod. -
Logging Out - Expermimental Branch 114782

I really don't see the problem of the implementation of this logout timer and staying in game for 30 seconds. If you've played DayZ for any amount of time, you're telling me that logging out in a safe spot isn't a given? Seriously!? If you have to go because of your wife/gf is on your ass or you just have to take a mean shit you must at least try your best to find a safe spot regardless. Yeah? If you do not logout in a safe spot now you're risking being shot upon login(which indeed leaves you open to be shot/manhandled for some seconds), so this whole argument about having to spend time or whatever to find a safe spot is a bit much really. I have always logged out in a bush or a pine tree and have never had a worry about a player finding me or a Zed killing me. As someone else has already stated... There are literally thousands of bushes and trees to hide in and they're not necessarily deep in the forest. I welcome this fix and it should work brilliantly. -
Logged out in house, fell trough floor and now im stuck!

I found if (upon login) I held "W" while hitting "X", I crouch ran out of the building before I loaded in fully. Since you login standing, most of the time it blocks you from running forward and exiting the building you're stuck in. Hope this helps. -
