Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
HIHBGaming replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
And here I thought I was the only one that picked up on this and thought... How does one feel so wronged by a game they've never played or even dropped money on, never-mind the complete and utter bashing of us "Fanboys" and the game itself. And he calls you mad. -

So I guess we'll see in a years time then, if not sooner. Am I right at least on that point? You tell me, since you seem to know everything else. -
Hell In A HandBasket - [TOG] Hardcore/Regular US DayZ Servers
HIHBGaming replied to HIHBGaming's topic in Servers
Server is still locked after maintenance. Hoping they're giving us more server features, we'll have to wait and see. Edit: Server online and running as per normal. Enjoy! -
Still offline atm...
-
Heh I have no idea mate but quite a few had no issues finding it. :D Default your filters maybe?
-
Well gamebreaking is a matter of perception and I expressed my opinion but I'll go and upvote it. As for the server thing and just to prove a point... ;)
-
Yeah mate all servers are down for about 3 hours, more or less.

Weekly maintenance...
-
Hrmmm server has been maintaining 30 to 40 every night for a few weeks now. Starts getting jumpy between 7 to 8pm AEST. As far as the OP... I hardly say this bug is gamebreaking, annoying as fuck but not gamebreaking. They'll fix it I'm sure because that little place on the roof of the school where you vault into has been fixed.

HFBServers Control Panel "No Records to Display"?
HIHBGaming replied to antiquote's topic in Server Owners and Admins
I was with HFB running the mod for quite some time and as you say the server performance was very decent but as far as support, it was very lack lustre. Support from HFB towards the end of the time I was with them got progressively worse as well. I would suggest that you don't delete/close a previous ticket because opening a new one will only put you back at the end of the queue. I also would suggest start posting on their Twitter in a reasonable fashion, I have gotten tickets taken care of this way in the past. Other than these suggestions you play the waiting game, unfortunately. -
Heh my bad but still, it is early 2014. But financial years do vary from country to country, correct?

There's a lot of things that the OP mentions that are already in place but I do think that a good start is to watch the roadmap video from Rezzed. I think that video answers a lot of questions the OP has because it seems that they haven't seen it. It is still Q1(early 2014), albeit getting to the end but we have been told an update to Stable will be by the end of April at the latest. The features of the next update; by the looks of it; covers a lot of what is mentioned in the OP. As far as security features go VAC and BE work together as anti hacks but from what I understand the bans come in waves and are not immediate. Server management is still a bit lacking but is there in a basic form as of now.

So the recent Rezzed video with the feature roadmap and the fact that there's a whole studio working on the Zed AI doesn't mean anything to you? Or you just choose to ignore the fact that they are working on it and it's not within your time constraints. Some of us do understand that it is an unfinished wip others... Well, do not. If you followed development and were a bit more informed then maybe your post would hold some merit. -

I am befuddled on which part you think I ignored. -

HIHBGaming replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
I disagree. I think people who do understand that it's a wip(Alpha) and not a finished product, know issues are being worked on and are being patient. While others do not understand that concept, it's that simple. -

HIHBGaming replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
In all seriousness It's a shame that people really don't understand what they bought into. So many people demanded the broken alpha of a game with a lot saying "We don't care how broken it is, we just want to play it. Now!" Now that they play it, knowing it's in Alpha(or so they say) they act like it's a complete finished product that's broken beyond repair. There are a few who actually do understand what they bought and are patient and realize that this is NOT a finished product and is a complete wip. Now, if this was the actual full final release stage of the SA and issues currently with the game were still in, I'd be the first one to bitch and I'm absolutely sure others would too. But it's not so I won't. Are there issues with the game? Absolutely but keeping a close eye on the development of the game I do see they're working on what they should and non-constructive bitching by me or anyone else isn't going to do anyone any good but I'm one of the ones that knew what I bought into. Just reading some of the drivel in this thread(as well as other threads), I'm starting to think that maybe it was a bad idea to release the Alpha. ONLY because the people who thought they had the mental fortitude to play the Alpha and help with the development, really don't. The people who are bitching about how long it's taking, the bugs and whatever else they seem to come up with really haven't a clue. We aren't even close to beta release, we all know that(at least some of us do) because we have been told how long the Alpha is to be. We also have a timeline of when features are to be making their way into the game. I guess for some this isn't enough so they have to take a tanty like children because their impatience gets the best of them. So how can one bitch and act like issues in an unfinished product are never going to be fixed, knowing that it's unfinished and a wip? Comparing the SA features to the Mod features doesn't fly either. The conspiracy theories about the financial gains of Rocket and BI are a whole other kettle of fish that are completely unfounded and are absolutely total conjecture. -

HIHBGaming replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
The only thing that I would add here is that on top of people wanting it to be released, there was an absolute demand for it to be released. How people forget things in such a relatively short amount of time and now start threads such as this. -

Heh, a post of misinformation or just a very uninformed first post. Well done! -
NO sidechat please! As someone else has already said, the trolling and absolute stupidity that side enabled was ridiculous. I tried many times (when I ran the mod) to control it but you just can't so off it went and it never came back. Although, some were ok and mature with using side the majority weren't.

Drinking water from any unclean source can make you extremely sick because it can contain any kind of bacteria, parasites or viruses. Drinking from these in DayZ; once implemented; will have a chance of making you sick and most likely die if not treated. It was in the mod and will be in the SA. Fun times!
-
Being the game that DayZ is, name tags floating over peoples heads is not a feature you will see in any form. Unless when modding comes around they implement this, but you won't see it in the Vanilla game. You are meant to be confused in a fire fight if not fully aware of where your team mates are. Group comms and awareness is key when it comes to confrontations in this game, it makes it more realistic and fun really.

There are many things that I could say in response here but I would come off as a "dumbassed blind fanboy" not an informed gamer that understands what is and what is not. I will just say... Seeya and maybe try to comprehend your purchases in the future.

Hell In A HandBasket - [TOG] Hardcore/Regular US DayZ Servers
HIHBGaming replied to HIHBGaming's topic in Servers
Crashes hrmmm... Monitoring the server I don't seem to see any crashes. I know there was an instance that I had to manually restart due to autorestart not working properly. Thanks for the heads up though. Edit: Looked into it and there were some major CPU spikes that could've caused the crashes. Since 0.44 patch spikes have gone away. -
