    Inventory slots become randomly unusable

    I had this going on with my inventory today and realized it was being filled with invisible cans of tuna. I didn't have, nor pick up any cans of tuna. If you click on the full slot you can drag it over to vicinity and drop the invisible tuna there. Not sure if this is your issue but this was something I was seeing today when I was playing.

    There are different teams for different things. Just because they're working on 64bit implementation does not mean others aren't working on something else. It's easy to say they're doing this and that wrong but unless you have hands on dealings with developing this game, there's no way anyone of us could truthfully say that they're doing things wrong.

[–]rocket2gunsRocket [score hidden] 18 minutes ago * One of the issues is that swapping servers causes a serious performance issue for the central server not to mention the game server itself. This involves a real cost, both financial and in overall performance, of the entire network. We have many changes planned for this system, but as it stands now, switching servers places a great strain on theentire architecture so we must do absolutely everything we can to discourage it, and when it does occur, give the server maximum time to process logins at it's own convenience. On a game server level, the single biggest performance hit to a server is when a new player joins. Depending on the amount of inventory, a new player can have a performance impact orders of magnitude more than a new character for an existing server player. On the central server level, the most demanding thing the central server does is to authenticate and load a player on a server. It does not matter if the difference between your login is 10 seconds, or 10 hours - each login results in a strain on the system. The main issue with 100 person servers is not the server operating, but it's inability to deal with the constant flow of connections + disconnections. A 100 person server with no connections and disconnections is quite stable and performance is acceptable. While we are investigating other solutions, such as improving performance and queuing systems - these take time and in order to do this we have to solve some other issues first.
  4. Honestly if that's all you got out of the recent patch, I think you need to read the patch notes again. Guaranteed messaging is huge just to name one.

    You can't just upgrade from 32bit Windows to 64bit Windows. To move to 64bit it is a complete re-install. He may be able to use the same key(questionable) but either way it's not just a simple upgrade, unfortunately.

    Anyone knows that being at an airfield you're looking for trouble. You hopped(after dying in combat I suspect) to a low pop server to gear up then server hop to join your friends again. Your plan didn't fly because there was a sniper at the airfield(surprise!) so you decided to combat log and then hop again to another low pop server to continue with your gearing. ^This, Is exactly what the timer is for. To discourage the easy mode gearing server hoppers, ghosters and combat loggers. You are one of them so you're here to bitch about it as well as most who complainn about the timers. I said most, not all. I did in no way tell you how to play the game but your play style is frowned upon, hence the timer that is in place.

    So basically what your saying is... You server hopped to the NEAF onto a low pop server and started getting shot at by a sniper. Then proceeded to combat log because you got scared. That is justification to you, you're joking right?

    Hrmm did I say it was a shitty mechanic? I don't think I did. Ghosting/Hopping is a problem that the current timer mechanic alleviates, we have had word that something else may come along to replace it. Is that a better way of phrasing it? Although it pretty much means the same thing. I hope that gets your approval. Time is time and 8 minutes isn't a lot of it, regardless of what activity you're engaging in.

    Really!? Would you say that to your significant other as well? Server hopping/ghosting is an issue and currently this mechanic alleviates that issue until something else comes along. In saying that, I've never had an issue with it but I don't server hop, ghost or have major connection issues. Guess I'm just lucky.

    Sooo, it's looking like update 0.44 is being pushed to Stable during next maintenance. Unless of course something changes. This patch will be a good one!

    Swapped Dayz to an SSD myself a few weeks ago. It is a brilliant thing!

    Will last 3 hours, more or less. There's supposed to be a patch in the pipe so it may be longer.

    I am suspecting that the patch notes will be posted once 0.44 hits Stable so nothing posted as of yet.

    You will automatically download the update once it's pushed to Stable. It is not currently running on Stable and should be pushed out next maintenance period. Which currently for us is about 4 or 5pm AEST.

    I think it will perform a bit better on a 40 player server, since the server isn't being stressed with 100 players from the get go. I also don't think we'll see player count pushed up past 40 on Stable quite yet.

    Cant view 3rd person?

    Enter on the numberpad switches to 3rd person on a normal server. Are you sure you're not on a Hardcore server? Which doesn't allow 3rd person at all.

    We need server restart warnings

    With MPGS you can install the BattlEye configuration files Addon which enables RCON. With this installed you can use 3rd party messaging like this one for server restart messages among others. ;) BEC would be better but MPGS does not have that option as of yet.

    Happy-Dayz server up and running

    When you "rent" a server you have to abide by the rules set out by the GSP/Devs of the game, it is not yours to do as you will it's just that simple. As of right now you're going against the TOS by not letting people play the way they want to, resulting in you kicking them if you're not pleased with their play style. With the previous Join=Kick model that you had it's obvious that you should have not "rented" a server in the first place. My suggestion, wait until private hives come along then maybe you can do what you want to do.
