After I read this thread, i tried to refund Nether.. I only had less then 1 hr in the game and bought it in 2013 and now the servers all gone, no support and the game works like shit. I got this back... Sorry steam user, you sucker!!! its been 3 years WTF! Now 4 WTF!! I just feel there is no love in the world anymore =D

The soft skills can also be broken down to a journal log book. So it allows you to refer back to the book and remember what it took to combine objects. It can also be a skill - Steam rewards system. It doesn't have to always involved a leveling up system like RPG's do, it can be just a simple addition to a journal log book. Not saying it isn't needed in dayz, but it can be modded in later on, if you allow for the expressions in modding. As long as the tools are there in modding we can pretty much do what we want with this soft skill based system, and crafting modifications. -
3PP vs 1PP - I finally have an opinion

Every suggestion is great with me except i do not want any major changes to 3pp until the actual "Gews" Spin topic is fixed in dayz, and the massive problems somewhere in the graphics. I cant play dayz that long under 1pp, i have tried and still fail to want to keep playing it. Not for pvp, because i can snipe any which way, or stalk it is about the movement i find gives me a headache. Once the graphics etc is optimized i will be ok with what ever happens. I just don't want to hang up the skates until i know its working fine for me and a few others... with the same problems. -
I think you guys will like the .61 experiences, it is moving so fast, and most of the major problems are being squashed. Expect a rough life.. but it is rather fun. Now more then ever, you will have to watch your back and hide to avoid the wolves. Nasty beasts they are. Trust no One, as your loot will be the prize!!! God be with you, and Save yourselves :) What where your experiences like?

All the major systems are not working right. They are redoing many parts that will most likely involve apple trees etc.. So for now, only hit apples once in awhile and pretend it is working. It is a known glitch with many others, that could be involved with the character controller. So give it some time, i believe that system is coming in soon.

Not to take this off topic but i must. It has now turned to a P2w full model, they took the F2P out and made it so you had to grind to 500k to buy a lvl 0 recon. Sadly it just happened, i didnt expect this and put another 50 hrs into the game just recently, until i read the real truth behind this "Gold" buying game. Your fooked sorry to say, if your ok with the basics and like to stalk people by all means, but there is something else you must know... ppl are hacking it with aimbots and such... i was getting killed from across the map deep undercover in all areas around the map to try and scope out this guy in the buildings. He 1 HS me constantly, with a m3 grease gun. WTF at 300m? I gave up, read the forums if it existed, then came about of the P2w system they just introduced, and i uninstalled the game. I don't like to gamble like this, and putting in 100 dollars a month to sub to a game like that, i would rather put it into a server with dayz. Now i do get 22-7 with the 2x scoped weapon, i am a sneaky bastard when it comes to pvp games. I can be your friend or your worst enemy but when i was getting HS from across the map, ground lvl to ground level at 300 m, where i could barely see the guy i gave up. It was on the Russian side, and from the forums attitudes it is happening. All this was happening with the default lvl 1 guy, with the grease gun at 300m 1 shot HS deal over and over, and i moved to the outskirts of the map too.

Bio has a very good point, this is why we need dayz to strengthen the PVE aspect of the game. Not bring it to a COD level. Other note: We have enough of those game, like if you want pvp arma style, i admit dayz feels much better in the character dept then arma you might want to play arma or Heroes and Generals for that pvp re spawn thing. If your looking for clan vs clan, compound vs compound like The walking dead, you may find that here, end game thing. Or even smaller groups finding resources like the walking dead, you found the perfect game to be molded to. but if its strictly KOS and nothing else, expect it to be rather filled with more pve players then pvp combat system because of the map size. Combine the two methods together pve + pvp and you have the next perfect generation like arma 3 exile/epoch gave people. It happened, it worked and it gave BI sales...

OH don't consider this not a pvp game by any means.. you still will have bandits (ME) stalkers (one video a guy followed another for 4 hrs) Just because your seeing the "Raw" state it is now, doesn't mean we as a community will not mold the game into what we want it to be like. Happens every single time. Just right now, they are working out on some key systems. For now we need the PVE to work rather better then expected so we can survive in a harsh environment. Vanilla will be vanilla, and we will have most likely PVE, PVE+PVP, servers that people will model to their liking. Happened in arma, and will happen most likely in dayz. Give it time.

Yeah even though its too easy, we have to wait until those balances are either done by the devs, or us the modders. I bet it still will be easy, and it will take us modders to push the envelope. That is ok, this is a BI game, they love what we can do with the main game.

Well devs are starting to show more media outlets lately. Like i was saying the small dev team at OKAM have discord already setup prior to alpha release if you have questions, or need to mention problems. So discord can work, for a small dev team. I would not suggest it for a huge division of AAA devs, only for internal reasons. It can get out of control the way some people act. It is the next gen Mount and Blade style game play, it went backwards too for awhile there.

Have you tried the .61 out yet? well wait if you dont care, once it hits stable you will change your mind somewhat 50% less. Once the bugs are removed from apples, water it will be rather difficult to survive. But this game also should be pvp based, knowing that someone could be lerking in the shadows, waiting for you to turn your back. Wham... coastal spawn. Survival, is not just wilderness but to survive what can lerk out there. To survive after a catastrophe would mean exactly what dayz would be like. We don't want to talk about warz, renamed to infestation, but they did the same thing. What it would take... very very low loot, very very rare loot, and making you survive in the wilderness, making packs with other larger groups, to search the countryside in search for items. In a way you can refer to "the walking dead" small groups of infected, dead. and then refer to things like "game of thrones" larger factions getting destroyed by smaller groups. Changing hands constantly, much like we see in "the walking Dead" So it will be much social, survival (PVE) and interaction (PVP) the base game must be complete in order for those with different ideas to mod what might be lacking. Remember horror, is a completely different game. Thriller, suspense, PVP, PVE it comes with the majority of things we need. At what scale you want it to be like? will require some modding after the fact, but we need the base game complete in order to populate what players want in the end. But your right as the way it stands now, we cant compare today what it will be like tomorrow.

I don't remember seeing any discord for the public. Not like they setup in OKAM from the devs to the public. The idea is ok, however it can be too much for the devs. It would be best for the forum mods, and certain devs explaining things. Too many media platforms, is very difficult on the development, but you can setup one for everyone to play on?

Lordbud made a 1000+/- 100-200m shot once with a mosin, long ranged scope. I positioned us on the mountain between electro, that small village, with bridges. I had lordbud scope, and kill a person moving in the field. We where at the very top. It took a few shots to get the downward aim correct, but once he took the shot, wham head shot. I had to run down and prove it was what the range calculated said. 1000+/- 200m.I had about 800-900 prior but his outdid ours. I still think i hit one guy 1400m aiming about 6 inches higher. I saw blood splatters but 1400 is almost impossible to do, but it was at least 200 more then what lordbud did to the open field one. I was at the house to the far left close to the barn. That kind of sniper shot gets you killed. Usually someone will be hanging out on the hill, or some cheater floating up trying to back stab you. So we played around, protecting each other up there and sure enough it landed. PVP is fun, no matter what type of class you play either sniper, assault or medic. I enjoy pvp, and make sure i try to get enough together to enter into events such as what the misfits put on for us. HIHB has or had weekly events going on for pvp fun. Private servers, have sometimes the best events, not just open pvp random kos things happening. So if you guys haven't, i recommend giving it a try. It doesn't hurt to have many characters on different servers.

Experimental is not a game playing thing, you should be playing on stable, as exp is very unstable and can have reversed effects on you and your opinions of the game. .61 will be coming to stable very soonish. What you see in stable, is current. What you see in Experimental is for testing results to better the game play. It however gets confused that it is a sandbox and it looks and feels like the end game. It is not the case, we have over 10 different .61 builds and none of them look the exact same. We are working on x64 bit, server performances, and can have undesired effects on your game play views of dayz. - We also are wiping characters daily, as stated by the devs. What kichilron links is exactly correct, each moment has a different issue.

I think he has been playing Dayz too long :) I liked this song, even though i am heavy into the 70-90's tunes. This new shit isn't all that interesting to me. Some are good, but this one i liked :)

I agree, i am ok with this ammo, and weapons. However seeing as everyone with enough sense will rush to all military places when the server is up on experimental just to get that fully decked out m4, ak rifle fully able to kill anything and anyone around. I would rather it be somewhat different, reduce the military to 10%, and increase the civ towns with 30% more loot, south or north, north being 50% higher normal drops. I would also like to have the south fully scattered with spawn locations, not locked to one general location. It maybe the way things are atm, not sure for testing purposes. Ammo, guns, full military rewards are very high for those that get the perfect spawn. Kill yourself until you get the perfect spawn. Then grief the shit out of everyone of us, trying to search for items or testing. So open up the ammo more for civ and weapons around, allow people to defend themselves, but for gawd sakes stop the rush to the military zones just to get all the loot. This isnt king of the hill is it? because .61 exp feels like king of the hill every day.

I know where you are going with this, and let me tell you this is ideal for a AI mission style, like we do in arma. We are now starting to do interactive quests, and missions within a sandbox version of exile. However, 2 bad things happened. 1 arma updates to 1.66, and the devs stop development on Exile. Guess what breaks?? everything we aimed for. Dayz will be a good modded type game if we have the correct tools to build off of. The coding must be allowed to build missions, or events from. If only arma had what dayz has, character controls, we would have a much better time with all of this. Interactive menu's, a way to load up crates, supply drops etc.. the list can be big. It has to be built around dayz though and not arma. So having more AI hunting, adventures, missions, quests might blow up the game much more in the future. Keeping dayz in the PVE, but adding some pvp events are awesome.

It should have a strap to sling over the back, as secondary weapon. or attach to the backpack itself, forcing you to retrieve it.
