We do not have enough information on birds and if humans have an impact on their life styles. Some animals rely on humans, for safety and food such as dogs and cats. Would they survive long without humans? being small my guess would be yes since dogs are known to hunt in packs, and cats can survive. Different breeds stick together all the time, but are hunting close by human populations. Birds are mostly free, so it is unknown if any survive solo on the tree types we plant, the vegetation or anything else we harvest around us. I know for one fact that some insects would survive without humans, such as the honey bee's. WE just kill everything off :(

As long as the game allows you to drive around and run over people who needs weapons hey? Opps hit enter to quickly - Running is ok, but no more then 1 minute or two real time, then you reduce your stamina to 0. You can run the 400 m fully out btw, i know i used to do it all the time.

Still coming up after all these months? hmm i thought that would have been fixed. Must be an engine, script taken out thing until working. -
The problem with many things are this, each server will be differently done, and dictated the way they see fit. Arma 3 didn't restrict people from doing what they wanted, and arma 3 is one of the most popular modded games out there. No matter what BI does to Dayz, it will still allow for modding, and people will find a way to remove restrictions to enjoy the game on their server. If modding is dummed down? well that will be loss for dayz in the end. Arma 3 didn't and still is strong. The only thing i see this happening is on your own vanilla server, and official if they even last. But clearly i do agree with many of these issues. Take modding away? takes away removing restrictions. Forcing the community to play "out of the box" game play.

Things I have yet to see in 0.62
sneakydude replied to Mookie (original)'s topic in General Discussion
OH damn i thought this thread was about Things we haven't seen in game yet like base building, crafting system working as intended, half of the other crap promised. but it was items not in .62 LOL had me all worked up Mookie. -
You just posted a simple exploit, and you didn't know it. Send this to the devs to fix.

I skimmed, and i agree. It will be the nature of these games in the future, it will take a crap load of stuff to keep us occupied. And if games like MMO's cant do it? other then EQ and WOW then i see no future in lower end MMO games like Conan, ark just saying, it takes a lot to keep us busy. Only so many can's of beans will keep us busy, and most of all, we already played the game. I still like Dayz though....

How many people here do legit real banditry?
sneakydude replied to The_Lonely_Bandit's topic in General Discussion
Well it appears to me a 2 way street on that issue with stamina . Wolfs can out run or did forcing you to hide in a house for a long time to ninja log off or try to kill them someway to get away. Infected cornering you is the same issue if speed is reduced. With little bullets, and a hope in hell that you find some "pointy stick" everything, i mean everything in this game needs to be looked at. Right now it is sloppy at best for game balances. I am sure the devs would nod too. (we the players, adapt, find ways around it, die 10x more then normal and avoid the same issue to survive) So Stamina will need to be looked at from the top down approach. Not a simple "Check" this box to reduce stamina on each AI for it to feel right. -
Look this Devs some inspiration from indies :D

Players cant hide in Pine Trees anymore
sneakydude replied to redmantab's topic in General Discussion
I live in Canada and we have all the pine trees you want. A fully canopy tree can still be pushed back to hide in. A trimmed tree exposes you. I will not lie, you may end up with a few cuts and scrapes. Most branches are close, so you would have to wiggle your way or crawl under them. It is doable just sucks to be you in the end. -
Since, Lord Hall did it, i figured the rest are

Players cant hide in Pine Trees anymore
sneakydude replied to redmantab's topic in General Discussion
It is a known restriction, and is being worked on. I know i was one that posted on this to the dev team in testing. Video glitches and exploits. So it is well documented, much like everything else is. I believe soon they will have fixes for most of it. -
A dev should not be really doing a ton of FB or posts anyways. Once in awhile seeing posts etc and responding is a good thing but we have Community Managers for this. A programmer should be posting on FB? not a good time management, unless on their own time. Hicks on the other hand? he is a Community leader, and needs to address some of the game views back directly. His input is what drives sales, and a relationship to the community. He also has a ton of time to spend with his company and his team. Otherwise no real good comes out of cross information from a programming dev. I agree completely with this Zombo :) Dayz is not dead, maybe in limbo from the huge influx of younger CSGO players??

It is basically the same, except you can build worlds, missions etc.. It is an approved tool by BI. This however tool you linked is not. I understand it is to debug the game, but... still not within the rules i understood.

You mean like arma 3 Apex editor? It is really hard to say if they will go to that level.

Why Dayz dev team dont use Unreal 4 engine
sneakydude replied to Marreta's topic in General Discussion
I don't care for UReal engine, due to the massive work it would require this dev team to fix in order for many things to work. Such as Under the ground placement of boxes. The cheats that bypass the engine, etc... So much to do for them, it is best they made their own engines. -
But then i would be kicked out for stalking all the kids, and KOSing them :(

That is awesome, just like my father playing and i am 47.... Glad to see your into games like this. I gave you beans, but would rather give you a beer!

There is only a couple reasons why you would care to build a small, or larger base. 1. Clan, guild, trader, RP events, for a larger type trader. 2. Full storage, hording, safety net, a place to simply call home. It boils down to mainly how you want to play the game, without this option Dayz can be boring by itself. The base building, hording of supplies, collecting of supplies, bettering your character and way of life, is the only benefit. It becomes an End Game type of game. Without some Roll playing events, and modding we have nothing at all in any one of these games to put in 500+ hours. Due to EA, most of us already have gotten our moneys worth, and played 1000-5000 hours. Some of us tested, some of us just simply played it. So you get the feeling all survival games get boring after awhile. Like some of us we played Arma 2, Arma 3 modded survival games. There really isn't anything special about any of them. The reasons why most would keep playing them, is the survival, searching and building. There is no end game unless you create it. PVP is the end game for some, survival between the PVP gives others that feeling of accomplishment. Then we have Role Playing... it is a completely different type of game play. If you solo it, it can become x10 more boring since you have to do it all yourself. Grouping up with friends, and randoms and accomplishing something more then simply drinking and eating but building a base and defend it, can be fun.
