  1. Great patch!

The only bummer is, the loot respawn issue seems to still be around...(the one where it spawns multiple items of one type in the same location, which turns trying to find said item into a needle in the haystack kind of situation).

Thats a major impact on gameplay that should be addressed asap.

Yes this is regular occurrence, for years now, and it really does not matter how populated the server is, in my experience.

I don't fully understand CLE configuration and whether restock timer is bugged or not, but changing some values might fix the issue. We'd just need someone to test it.

I thought it was a "problem" now so old that it is well known: most of the objects in the "types.xml" file have the "restock" set to zero.

I found a detailed explanation on how this works on steam forums. /app/221100/discussions/0/1640927348828219479/

After doing some more digging, a ticket for this had been submitted 2 years ago already, unsolved. So the devs either don't care to fix it or think it's fine..

or it's working as intended, and the restock behaviour is controlled via RespawnTypes & Respawn Limit:

    Quote

RespawnLimit - Integer - 20 - How many items of one type can be spawned at once

RespawnTypes - Integer  - 12 - How many different types can be respawned at once

from the official CE Configuration on bohemias website.

I unfortunately don't have my own server to try this.

From your example, the loot economy will try to spawn 40 BarbedWire in the world, if they aren't interacted with in 2 hours (7200 second lifetime value), they will despawn, if the number of BarbedWire in the world gets down to 20 (minimum value), they will start to respawn, in this case the CLE will try to spawn them all at once as the restock timer is set to 0.

Seems wierd that this is still set to 0 by default, when it's obvious that that's causing issues with loot distribution.

Edit: and I also found a ticket https://feedback.bistudio dot com/T152626

Edit2: removed links because for absolutely no reason whatsoever the official steam website is still blacklisted?

edit: whatever, just not posting steam links I guess

That has never stopped a map from being available and being played extensively during development. However, there is allegedly some dodgy stuff with the guys who posted the map. Either the entire map was stolen or it uses assets they don't have license to use, in any case the publisher has cut communication so exactly why the map was pulled, nobody knows.

Yep, just read about it today. It is pretty much 99% confirmed that the map has been uploaded before and is entirely stolen or contains stolen assets which are not allwoed to be used.

AKM actually has lowest recoil by default because it spawns with recoil reducing attachments (that specific wood somehow magically reduces recoil... idk don't ask me).

The best part is how completely backwards this is with reality, too.

AKM kicks the most out of all variants by far, due to 7.62. AK74 is known to handle way easier. I think the impact buttstocks and handguards have on recoil is also blown out of proportion way too much.. 😂

PS: M4 is hard to contr-

    - Gun weight should affect sway and recoil, that includes mags (ammo in the mag might require too much math during full auto sprays, but it really should be counted too) and scopes. More weight = less recoil, more sway.

interesting take, I am down for stuff like that, if we reduce sway by 50% first, it's a bit much right now. I understand strong sway when you are out of breath from sprinting, but not when you have been sitting still for half an hour and still draw barn sized circles around an opponent from your regular breath. Tf?

. It would be better if something like that had to be found instead, along with a grip. There are comps for weapons that don't really even need them like the Mosin and the SG5k, but not on guns that can actually benefit from them.

Sigh, so true... there is also a mod right now that does attachments quite well, it's called Tactical Flava. It's really good because it replaces all vanilla guns with moddable counterparts, while their base stats remain the same, their looks are enhanced and they get cool new firing sounds and muzzle flash effects. And of course you can enhance the stats with new foregrips and such.

  8. I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I am sick and tired of the same green / TTSKO characters with their huge bulging green backpacks everywhere, it's such a bad aesthetic and it's tiresome to look at.

This game desperately needs more variation for camos and clothing in general, thank god mods exist for that, however, there is still a disturbing lack of high quality clothing mods, particularly for more variety in cuts/fits and civilian clothing also.

Also, gorka clothes are just awful and they highlight your character due to poor shading / lighting because they are more white than green and have a shiny texture.

They need to be more matte and way more saturated in colors. Real gorka suits just don't look anything like that.

As for weapons / balance that we haven't even touched yet.

The firerate "bug" that forces all weapons to have either 300, 600 or 900 rpm really  takes away from the uniqueness and character of some of the guns. An Mp5K fires at 900 RPM yes, but for an M4 800 is more realistic and the difference is definitely noticeable, such nuances get lost.

And then why do all AKs have the exact same base recoil? I liked it when the AKM was the hardest hitting but also had the most recoil. The AK74 was it's little brother and much easier to handle. Now, you can  take any AK and they feel more or less the same.

And every assault rifle right now will knock out a plate carrier in 2 hits. WOBO made a video of how the Aug statistically is the best AR and there is lots of nice data in there, but really the only thing that matters right now is how you can deliver those 2 bullets most reliably and easily. There is really very little reason to go thru the trouble and upgrade from an AK74 to an AUG, unless you plan on tapping people long range, for which most people rather use blaze or tundra. In fact the Aug handles much worse than the AK74 - bullets curve to the top left of where you aim during full auto, the recoil is much worse and the iron sights are unusable.

"we dont have the time and manpower to go over the CLE"

    I cry.

CLE is still popping out the same items in the same location all the time, which is why you often times never find what you are looking for. It's fundamentally broken.
