I think at nighttime infected should react more heavily to soundcues and lose you quickly and not be able to spot and track you as if they had thermal vision.

Currently if you draw infected aggro, all surrounding infected will be alerted to your presence and be locked onto you, even at night - as if a hivemind was controlling them. Even if another player appears right next to them or shoots right next to them, they are locked onto you. How about no? How about they go for gunshots? How about other players can break "aggro" if they are closer?

Nice list. You missed the part where they wnated to add more "vehicle interaction", meaning you can do more inside the vehicle than just sit still, such as using your weapon, eating or whatever. I still remember this devblog vividly, cuz I got hyped about it.

Pretty sure it only affects how fast the sun sets. As for cholera, I think I contracted it a total of 3 times, and the two times before I had enough food and drinks to simply outlast it even without meds. But damn you if you don't have enough to drink, you will dehydrate and die within 5 minutes. Didn't know that, pretty harsh. Also, maybe it's time to bring back arma damage and ballistics on PC? Why do we need to put up with these dumbed down console mechanics?

Ok, so cholera. You throw up, and then you throw up again, and suddenly your health is ticking down every second and you are almost dead - all within the span of 5 minutes. Right, cholera kills in 5 minutes. Cholera, more like space aids.

What official posts? How should I know? I don't frequent this board as much as you, let alone read every statement ever made by the devs. Used to, but stopped 2017-ish. Googling "dayz gameplay loop" yields no results except the interview from Hicks. So it's neither normal for everyone to have read said "official posts" nor are they easily accessible. I would be very curious to read them or hear it in your words.

preferrably greatly increased infected count. they dont make for a challenge unless its dozens of them. maybe some players too but thats a bonus I used to visit such a server it was called something along the lines of "hardcore cz/sk" with 30 slots but I can't find it anymore so any tips would be appreciated.

I remember somewhere around 2016/17 they talked about adding "freedom" to cars so you can do all sorts of stuff, even drivebys maybe. Queue 2019 and you still can't even drive properly without lags and flying to the moon. As for walkie talkies, I never used them, but shouldnt they work? Also, still curious about that "core gameplay loop". When Hicks was still in Dayz and when he talked about the core gameplay loop, he did an interview once where he expressed a metric fuckton of uncertainty as to how exactly it is supposed to look like. He was making hints and how Rust has nailed it and making comparisons, he said he wasn't sure about spawn points and whether a respawn mechanic could be added. Just a bunch of uncertainty that I have never seen fully resolved. And then he left. This project is just a mess. Many years into the game they couldn't even accurately define how exactly they want the loot economy to work, how exactly the core gameplay loop is supposed to look like. Is this why you are not answering me @IMT ?

I am looking for a server with greatly increased infected counts and no over the top mods otherwise, anyone know of one?

Agreed, this should have been ingame from the beginning. That way you could turn it into an AS Val, so it would have more all around purpose. This buff just seems silly. Its a bit annoying they are straying so far away from real gun characteristics and ballistics after they have been realistic for 4 years.

wait what? I thought you would only get ported minor distances to avoid base logging, like 10-20m. All the way across map??? Only played on privates so far so I haven't seen the system yet. I can't imagine a dayz where I don't login the same placed I logged out. As emu said, it is about the experience. You continue your story where you left it.

I miss the old 0.60 AKM a bit, kicks like a mule but with enough mousepad you could still get a somewhat tight grouping. Now it has little recoil and the barrel somewhat curves upwards like in counter-strike if I hold down mouse1.

https://old.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/cdvzk5/status_report_july_2019/ I thought they might finalize the game this year, adding all the stuff they promised over the years: helicopters, bikes, survival features. All the things we got used to from previous versions. Guess not. Modders could still do the game justice, but this is sad. So I tested the 556 versus the 545, and the 545 was - to take an uneducated guess - 100-300ms faster at 700 meters. Since the AK74 is the onyl gun to use it tho, and since it is inferior in every other way to the m4, it doesn't really matter. Heck, nothing really matters anymore. -

So, have the ballistics not changed since 1.0? 308 winchester and 556 still have railgun properties?
