Maybe it's a bit overdue for this. People zig zag with 0 speed limitations, it's a quirk of the game but it's really not good.

I noticed how incredibly low scoped zoom sens is with a hunting scope for example, compared to other games. It would be best if it could be manually adjusted.

Wishlist of changes if Dayz ever recieves full mod support

bring back old ballistics and damage values (with slight tweaks) remove locked animations like when meleeing (this ironically was better before player controller was introduced, which was supposed to improve player animations..) tweaks to sun blinding and general lighting tweaks to sometimes overwhelming fog bringing back old, realistic nights change the muzzle smoke, I can't see anything after firing 1 bullet because a fat 2007 smoke sprite is in my face major tweaks to gunplay, guns behave more realistically again similar to pre 1.0 (or rather pre-console-ization, where they removed most recoil and added unrealistic 2nd bullet inaccuracy and other crap) more stances like in arma 3 better infected AI, so they don't stupidly lock on targets and just go for the nearest player regardless of who "aggro'd" them Opinions? What is your wishlist? -
First off: Unraidable is bullshit and not the way. Second: Play on community servers with basebuilding mods (namely codelock and build anywhere), it's the only way. Basebuilding in vanilla was always just a roleplaying thing. Look at the early concepts and screenshots: cool to look at, but entirely impractical.

They are called community servers and they are free ^^ Just find a proper one, I'd say there is easily a dozen recommendable servers both with mods or vanilla experience and even with non KOS rules.

Since many features wre removed, butchered or remain missing, modding is the only way to play this game now anyway

Maybe a solution would be to handle ragdolls only clientside while the lootable body remains in the exact place you killed them serverside. That would fix the glitching thru walls and disappearing loot while still giving you a clear indicator of whether you killed someone or not

The death animation needs to be reworked so they just collapse like a sack to prevent bodies from glitching into things, cuz this just happens all the time. That or implement ragdolls. It's rather unacceptable for a 2020 game to have this issue. Little explanation for those not aware: Currently, there are no ragdolls or physics. Someone just falls over in a fixed animation when you kill him. Most of the time into a wall. When you then attempt to get the loot by cutting up the body cuz his feet still stick out, all the loot will be inside the wall.

A bipod would be nice, you know what would be nicer? If stances actually worked. Right now your stance has 0 effect on your gun behaviour. Prone or walking, same recoil.

Okay, I was so wrong. The M4a1 and AKM are actual laser beams as long as they have buttstock and handguard attached. But that only applies to fully automatic fire, not burst fire. However I really don't think "recoil patterns" should exist in Dayz, such as the vz.61 in your video, where simply ALL the bullets stray 1m off the crosshair. Nor should burst firing look like this at 25m. PS: I didn't know of the offline mode mod when I took the video.

..or accuracy rather. Every gun behaves like a sawn off double barrel when fired on auto now. Whats up with it? Are people okay with this crap? Notice how only the first bullet goes center and every other bullet goes around it. I understand deviation and inaccuracy, but this ain't it chief. This is pure bullshit. Dayz 0.62= high recoil, high accuracy, felt realistic. Dayz 1.00= low recoil, extreme inaccuracy, feels like a joke. inb4 noone cares cuz Dayz is about fishing

Of course. But the deviation goes from able to hit targets to will miss 75% of bullets after firing only one shot. For example 2 round or 3 round burst firing should yield accurate results in the 10-30m range. But it doesn't. The first bullet goes center, the second bullet already goes like this: In arma 3 you can get an equal or tighter grouping full autoing an LMG on 200m than you can get with burst firing in Dayz on 25m. Also, stance doesn't even affect gun behaviour right now. I could be prone or walking and have the same results. Here is how burst firing at 10m should look: Here is what burst firing at 10m in dayz currently looks: Here is what burst firing at 100m can look: Here is what burst firing at 100m looks like in Dayz, being generous with the red dots here: It doesn't follow any logic, laws of physics or realistic gun behaviour. It's just there to deter you from doing anything other than single tapping. Probably dumbed down for console players.

I think at nighttime infected should react more heavily to soundcues and lose you quickly and not be able to spot and track you as if they had thermal vision.

Currently if you draw infected aggro, all surrounding infected will be alerted to your presence and be locked onto you, even at night - as if a hivemind was controlling them. Even if another player appears right next to them or shoots right next to them, they are locked onto you. How about no? How about they go for gunshots? How about other players can break "aggro" if they are closer?

Nice list. You missed the part where they wnated to add more "vehicle interaction", meaning you can do more inside the vehicle than just sit still, such as using your weapon, eating or whatever. I still remember this devblog vividly, cuz I got hyped about it.

What official posts? How should I know? I don't frequent this board as much as you, let alone read every statement ever made by the devs. Used to, but stopped 2017-ish. Googling "dayz gameplay loop" yields no results except the interview from Hicks. So it's neither normal for everyone to have read said "official posts" nor are they easily accessible. I would be very curious to read them or hear it in your words.
