As the title suggests. What currently keeps me from using the reddots is that they will always be zoomed out all the way upon right-clicking. The zoom/fov range is nice to have, but if it remembered how far zoomed you were, it would be much more convenient to use imo.

Ye I realized that later. It looks really good tho, that is exactly how throwing grenades should be in Dayz as well.

I already think they are a pain as they are in their current iteration - a mere timesink for bored players that doesn't really make too much sense gameplaywise. For all I care they could make helis much rarer and more widespread but in turn they would be guaranteed to spawn some sort of decent weaponry and not just a bunch of boots. Weapon rarity should be: 1. Grade: guns rarely spawning at helicopters 2. Grade: guns commonly spawning at helicopters (still rare just not as stupidly rare as now) 3. Grade: mil loc guns 4. Grade civ spawn guns And bam helis would feel much more convenient already imo.

DayZero has corpes of dead soldiers around their helicrashes. Makes it feel more intuitive to loot I think. At 4:07

What I said was simply wrong as I misread your comment, which is my bad. But good to see that you are "smart" enough to be above such things *sarcasmover9000*. Plain wrong. There is a difference between voicing displeasure and making suggestions of things that were already announced for implementation. Examples: "I hate the buggy vehicles atm" and "Can we have little bird pl0x". So much for tall orders and internet smart guys, guy.

@Thurman Merman It is well known that the infected in their current state are just a placeholder and plans are to make them spawn in much greater numbers (likely dynamically) and it is safe to assume that their variations and damage models will recieve a lot of attention by then, too. So you saying that is just screaming "I never read devblogs! I never read dev tweets! I never inform myself about the development of the game!". @Deathlove Yeah, why not add the whole Left4Dead palette while we're at it? Heck, why not add Hulk. Hulk can smash cars. Avoid Hulk. Needs RPG to be stopped.

Orlok what is more important than saturation is the look of the world, the mod had debris and bodies everywhere, things like that are still missing for us.

helicrashes work properly everywhere, "splosions" randomly occur everywhere (and seemingly arent too "damaging" anymore), tents seem to have a pretty high max spawn limit and are less favourable anyway, barrels still spawning is a sign of lack of activity. most 50 50 privates run out of barrel spawns within days of wipe.

Just rewatching the video for the 9001th time. About the loot region tool: Gamechanger. Possibilities: -have a rare gun spawn in the remote altar in turovo -have a garage spawn lots of tires -make novo or other parts of the map interesting to visit again Dayz is definitely taking an interesting direction, slowly but surely.

I could talk for hours about how badly public hives shape the DayZ meta and what not... 80% of publics pop resides in coastal areas it seems and that has various reason, but the public hive only helps support that meta. Maybe the devs are afraid new people would shy away (aka ragequit) from the game if they had to learn the "ropes" on a full pop private where they would get shot a lot.

They already answered that in a tweet from a couple days ago: Nope, not this week, but they are working hard on it and we are close. So small chance for EXP end of next week, more likely end of month.

I am excited about this, but thinking about it, I am more excited about the player controller which will radically improve gameplay.

-there is crashed army helicopters... and they are packed with boots. actually helicrashes are really just a timesink at the moment.. I hope when the game reaches BETA they will add to the gameplay while making sense. Which means they should be rare but rewarding (always spawn weapons and ammo of some sort)

This was a topic on reddit a week ago or so.. I say the first step would be removing any kind of player safety by making 1st person mandatory and 3rd person optional by making it the main mode, not the other way around like it is now. With the introduction of the new player controller I feel this is a mandatory step into making DayZ a better final game. 3PP is both toxic to atmosphere as well as gameplay.

That was a fun read! I went on UN and ran around on NWA looking for trouble. As I entered the ATC, I heard a "clunk clonk" above me. Not expecting anyone here as I carefully observed the place for a prolonged period of time, my heart starts beating faster. There is about 5 infected outside of the door which aggro'd on me as I was running by and there is a guy above me. I am trapped. I just decided to head upstairs - only to find his dead body. #dayz things
