Go to a mid pop server he said....it'll be fun he said...
grimlok replied to MadMcardle's topic in General Discussion
You can play on a full pop server and not die you know. Just pick your spots and your battles. Also, pvp can happen anywhere on the map, not just Electro, Cherno or Berizino. The CoD kiddies hangout there, the big boys are everywhere else. -
If the developers can't get the current map to operate properly why would they allow another map to suffer the same fate? Hence, you wait until the game works, is not in Alpha before giving people the ability to demolish it.
-
And so empty with so few buildings to even enter
-
Nothing like signaling, "Hey I'm over here, come kill me"
-
Wait for Xbone
-
Then maybe check out "The Forest". It's got lots of trees
-
There is more to the map than Electro, Cherno and Berizino. GET OFF THE COAST!!!

Hive / Servers temporarily out of order.
grimlok replied to northofnowhere's topic in General Discussion
For all of the above I hope the devs will do away with the instant create once you have all the materials and give it some form of fixed animation that takes time to create said items. Very immersion breaking for me to create an item instantly -

There is something about this in the suggestions forum and my thoughts on it are pretty simple. For every suicide after the first one and within 5 minutes of the suicide, add a 30 second timer. So you hate your spawn, you kill yourself to get a better one, cool 30 seconds, spawn in and hate it again so you kill yourself, now it's a one minute spawn timer and so forth. Or you could wait 5 mins for the timer to reset back to 30 seconds. This will easily prevent the suicide'ing for a better spawn.

Bullet resistant protection actually giving bullet resistant protection
grimlok replied to cornholio308's topic in Suggestions
I read your thread and what you're wanting is invincibility. Again, nice 3 month bump which means no one else was agreeing or interested anymore -
Bullet resistant protection actually giving bullet resistant protection
grimlok replied to cornholio308's topic in Suggestions
Nice 3 month bump. Why don't we just get an actual armour and health indicator like in Quake and also the spawning devices so we can pick up health packs and armour. Seems this is the game people want. -
Again, do not compare something that you've never played. Just stop. I'm not opposed to DayZ being a PvP deathmatch. I'm opposed to DayZ being a PvP death match where everyone has a sky base, with helicopters and cars/trucks coming out of their yin yang. People stopped playing the vanilla mod because of hackers, you'd know this if you had actually played so again, stop comparing something you've never played. And I bought a single player game? Really now? I've never had to connect to a server to play a single player game before. Can you please show me how to play the game offline and in single player?

You forgot to close this one

Anyway, it's been given the "greenlight" no pun intended, that they will allow players to mod but have also said that they will monitor them, I'll believe that when I see it. Did the devs ever play the mod? Did they not see what happened with letting modding like that run amok? Yes, creating a new map is nice, btw that isn't modding, that is creating a new map, but what Epoch brought to DayZ was a disgusting dumbed down version of what the game was suppose to be about. Yes "I" do not have to play it but I also didn't buy the standalone to play on empty servers. I could've bought a single payer zombie game to do that.
-
Stop comparing the mod to the standalone you say?? You do realize that the standalone would not exist if it wasn't for Dean Hall, right? The guy who started DayZ, the creator. So, if you've never played the mod how can you say it's a clunky mess and two different experiences? Those who are enjoying Epoch, are also the ones who have been trying to change the SA into Epoch.
-
Uh, have you looked at the player list for the mod? Vanilla servers - 0 players, Epoch; handed out weapons, self blood bag, 1000 cars - Full servers. Allowing that kind of modding to the SA is not only going to be detrimental to the game but also a slap in the face to the developers who have put in all the hard work to make DayZ SA.
-
I bought the SA because I was under the assumption it would be DayZ, un-modded. Now learning that they will allow modding to be a thing the game DayZ as we know it will disappear and be overrun with it's bastardized child called Epoch. Epoch SA.... lovely. Well the game was only $30 at release of the early access and I got my hours of enjoyment out of it at least.

I like these ideas Or an actual option to eat 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of a can. One thing I'm really hoping they remove in the future is the instant auto pick up of items. People just run around with their inventory screen open, double clicking items as they go by. Having to make the character stop, take off the backpack and actually pick up and place the item in the bag would not only look better, it also at more tension as to when it's a good idea to start rummaging through your backpack for items.

Will anything of arma engine remain in final game?
grimlok replied to robophant's topic in General Discussion
Only in memory will it remain. Rest in peace RV
