All good stuff. I have to ask though, has there been any internal progress on consoles regarding addressing the duping exploits?
-
This also drives me nuts lol

Are you brain dead or just being a dick because crying about vehicles is your identity or did you not even read the link “We’re in the process of importing the latest version of vehicle simulation from a newer version of our Enfusion engine. We hope this will bring some much-needed stability to vehicle simulation in DayZ and expect to perform some public testing in the coming weeks.”

Update 1.16 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
thepoey replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
It's the experimental branch? There's a big warning about the experience not being optimized or stable (as far as such things can go in DayZ.) It's not really meant to be your main server destination. Outside of potentially improving performance, who cares if the servers are wiped? Most people check out EXP when an new update drops, play it for a bit, and move on to Stable. -
Seeing through the map when logging in on console
thepoey replied to Tommygunz89's topic in Suggestions
It's absolutely a big problem on the last gen consoles. Now granted, those last gen consoles really struggle in some parts of the map, but it can definitely give someone an advantage in the middle of combat. You can see through countless buildings and walls. The best solution I can think of is to just black out the screen for a moments until loading in is totally complete, but even that probably isn't fair to the player, because it can take a while for the game to load in every environment, and obviously not everyone abuses this. -
Update 1.16 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
thepoey replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
It's definitely annoying. They've already made performance strides on PS5, so it's clearly something they care about doing, and it's a huge part of the playerbase. I will be surprised at how much performance they can tweak out of those last gen systems. The game barely functions on an Xbox One inside any big city. I just hope doing so doesn't give last gen players an unintentional advantage. They already have the ability to see through buildings for a not insignificant amount of time when loading into the game. -
Update 1.16 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)
thepoey replied to lynn.zaw's topic in Xbox Experimental Updates
My guess is Vigor makes a lot more money than DayZ, and runs on an easier to navigate engine with a bigger team and budget. There was talk in their preliminary plans for 2022 about the console versions getting more love this year, so I’m sure stuff like this is on the team’s mind. -

They listed it as a known issue in the patch notes. -
Update 1.16 Xbox Experimental (Change Log)

On Xbox EXP 1.16, you can no longer walk while in your hot wheel. Is this an intentional change or a bug? -
With the huge influx of players the game has received in the last two months, I really hope that overall server performance improves dramatically in 2022, above all else. This is the only way to help ensure that this new crop of players sticks with the game for the foreseeable future. Dying senseless deaths to cars skyrocketing, desync, or any other of the numerous issues caused by massive dips in server performance is just going to drive away all a large portion of new players, and they will not come back. This definitely happened on Xbox when the game first launched, and I hope it doesn't happen again, because the population is in the best state on both console and PC it has ever been in.

They’ve made hunger even easier to survive now at lower levels. It just requires more constant effort to maintain at higher levels now. It’s in the patch notes. Honestly it sounds like you just don’t know what you’re doing. You’ve been playing since early Alpha and you’re still struggling with this? Yeesh. Stuff like fruit and mushrooms has always provided very minimal calories. If you’re running full speed across the map, ignoring your warmth levels, and only eating small bits of fruit, yeah, your hunger is never gonna stay full and you’re going to struggle. The hunger system is fine where it is.

Unlimited accounts and storage mean absolute DICK if players can't endlessly fill up alt accounts and storage options with duplicated items. Permdeath is definitely not trivial, unless you're some kind of psycho that travels the map with a main character and alts at every possible death point, or just sits next to where your alt spawns at all times. That stuff really isn't that convenient or worth doing in excess if the loot economy is functioning the way it's supposed to. "Hackers are everywhere" so fucking what? There aren't any on console, but regardless, what, problems like this should be allowed to persist because "all games have cheaters"? Give me a fucking break.

It's more of a console problem
-
I'd argue that exposing the problem like this potentially creates more urgency, making it more likely to be addressed. In a game with permadeath and a limited loot economy, exploits like this completely ruin the integrity of the game. edit: especially if the problem is just handwaved as something that "doesn't happen that often".

i can't believe this is still a thing. I have been posting about this for months.
