  1. I did find two AUGs even - but what is it worth, if the magazines don't spawn. Feel free to take mine :P
  2. Now we have a specifically funny case of these "special" admins. In order to loot with his mates, the admin claims the server would be a BattlEye testserver lol. Of course upon joining, it's clan people ( ^^ battleye clan for the world ) ... now obviously I got kicked - and yes, I joined on purpose - let's just see how this reporting via feedback tracker works.... (btw how do I manage to spoiler images?)
  3. The idea is great, there should be no "heli routes". Then again, imagine the graphic mess if the heli spawns inmidst of a town or the frustration when the wrecks shows up on the ocean. So randomness has its limit ... but the randomness idea is good.

    Loot

From what I took, it affects civilian as well as mil loot - but one way or another, Balota, North East just aren't places for gear anymore.

    Loot

    1. prisons are glitchy, thus loot was removed on purpose 2. there are new loot zones, kind of forcing people towards NWAF where most loot is (don't really like that)
  6. Just reported =SK= Stubenkrieger server via feedback tracker, doing my part for the first time ever - and a push to the thread won't hurt either :)

    Dayz Reviews on Steam

That ... bear in mind that - most who do NOT like it will not follow it on these boards - threads negative towards DayZ have a higher likelihood to meet the graveyard, this might be down to peronal rants and flames and the way this board is moderated. However, taking this forum as a reference on like / dislike is not quite correct. Neither is steam, though, since many people do comment after only having played single digit hour. All in all .... relax :)

    Primitive Technologies

You deserve a lot of respect for still having hope for survival elements, when the game has been developing into a staight big-map-shooter lately. I doubt there will be more of these elements, but be prepared for some new guns ...
  9. It makes perfect sense, though, if you aim to make a wide map first person shooter out of DayZ and basically this is the direction DayZ has been heading for quite some time now. I don't like it, since I am a fan of the open world sandbox concept, but I have embraced reality for what it is - I have got my money's worth from the game already :) That said, expect more guns, more incentives for a constant PvP fragfest and more KOS in the future - the game might not be for everyone (it won't be for me as a fan of sandbox games). And arguably, 1st person perspective is the better choice for a classic shooter.

Not a fan of the overabundant focus on shoot and transport, but I totally agree. It's a beef I already had with the V3S parts. In case of an apocalypse you either use it to get the hell away with it or you leave it behind - that is, if you have the time to opt for of the two mentioned options. The last thing you will do is calmly walk out of the door and start disassembling your truck, when apocalypse is hitting - even worse, you are walking around towns hiding individual pieces of your truck in different sheds? Really? Granted, one could argue that most working trucks will have been used and are gone by now, so many (not all!) trucks having a problem here or there seems realistic. The combination of a puzzle and a model kit on the other hand sure is not. Same goes for a helicopter.Or a car. Vehicles should just be in random states of repair or disrepair, ranging from ready to use up to "more parts defunct".

    my turn: first :P
  12. If the only approach for that is the number of zombies, the game might easily cross a treshold where it is deterring potential new players in scores. That's why I think elements like medical conditions, food, the entire skill system and more should be used to make the game more than a Deathmatch arena. On a highway, speed limits alone will not keep people from speeding or DUI. A combination of threats/consequences, education, insurance fees, radar controls and more is doing the job and yet not enough to succeed. So I would advocate to use a variety of means than use the simplistic approach and boil it all down to the number of zombies. The latter reminds me of the late 90s games, where the only difference between "easy", "medium" and "hard" was the number of enemies, but the playstyle stayed the same.
  13. I guess we will just have to wait and see
  14.  at least someone in here makes good jokes ;)
  15. The point is, you will be loosing the relevant player base, if you make it a KOS fragfest till beta. People have looked and do look elsewhere. Alpha will decide upon the game's future.

will i regret buying this game ?

most likely yes at some point

General ideas about how the game should be

You arguably have melee weapons for that purporse. Having a gun around every corner isn't really a solution either.

General ideas about how the game should be

check steam charts for how far more guns, less survival challenge has brought the game in the last months. Give it time and DayZ might just kill itself, if they keep a narrow focus on transport and weapons. People calling for more guns are the most vocal and a percentage of those, who haven't left - many people looking for a more than KOS challenge have looked elsewhere by now, so they won't comment on these boards anymore. I just don't see the guns guns guns way going very well in the end, but time and player numbers will tell..

Dean himself. If Dean himself planned to go to toilet before having a beer, it doesn't make it my event of the year either. The rest of your post ... well, either I can pilot it or I cant ... "can't pilot for long haul" - then we should introduce pilot licenses instead of soft skills. Now if we talked about X can pilot a heli an Y cannot, skills start making sense when it comes to gameplay but exactly this is NOT planned. Well, now I am not Dean himself, but I am tired enough myself to go to bed. Sleep tight.

This is artificial. Noone in his right mind will speculate on 4 seconds with the lug wrench. People will search cover and fight it out and then get back to the truck. I have yet to see a group chopping trees when being aware of another group next to them. Maybe you're the hardcore woodcutter clan or the super lugwrench hero, I'm not and I'm sure that goes for most people ;) You can drop tens of artificial situations you will most likely never see in 1,000 hours of playtime. It doesn't make it any more reasonable in my opinion. I'll leave you to your opinion, I'm cool with that, but to me implementing a skill system this way is a joke. Full stop. Better use your programming resources for other stuff then.

nope, if that's what the skill system is there for, by all means invest your resources differently and leave it be. You can do a skill system, you can leave it, but introducing something that is almost pointless sounds more like a distraction from other important tasks.

yes, and if they stick to that, they waste yet another opportunity... no point in coding a skill system when the practical implication is that you cut wood 15% faster or get 15% more wood per tree. And having as much loot as currently on stable makes a useless element a joke. Yield more meat when there is a can of food around every corner... well ... Granted, I have heard loot will be more hard to find in the future (I believe it when I see it, since there would be much wining on the boards), yet it remains pretty pointless. Skills could add much depth to the game - the way it is implemented, it will be potential lost, plain and simple.

whatfor? the skill system so far is by far not to be taken serious. Okay, you harvest somewhat more (as long as there is an abundance of stuff, this is pointless anyway), you might fix legs some seconds faster (also pretty pointless), so why should there be any compensation. I hope DIFFERENT skills will be introduced, i.e. someone knows something another person doesn't - makes player interaction and teamwork a lot more significant. It's a chance for the game to get out of it's dull run-shoot-die-repeat mode. So I don't think there should be "compensation" anyway - skills are an icing on the cake, if done properly.

    that x2

    Zombies do matter after all...

errr.... the last peak around 25k was half a year ago ( http://steamcharts.com/app/221100), and that was peak for a month, not average.
