  1. Yes on all of them and the medical system should be expanded. Tetracycline for instance isnt effective against many types of skin bacteria .... without getting too deep into it, there is room for expanding it. Zombies in the wilderness are definitely a should have as well, albeit in lower numvers. Breaking doors unless barricaded should work ... barricading would also be a decent addition. And of course zeds need to do more damage, currently it's almost impossible to die by a zombie

REMOVE ''Player Kill Count'' from newui

Well, but the way development has headed recently, kill stats seem to be a natural addition. Mind you, I dislike the turn just as well, but there is little we can do about it. I very much doubt DayZ SA will be very popular (don't mistake it for sales, the revenue has already been generated) as a shooter, but a shooter is what this game has become. I shrug my shoulders and just wait for the things to come. And just in case, there is more games out there other than DeathmatchZ as well

    House Suggestions

I second the OP's notion. Not a gamechanger, but it would be a useful feature.

    Map expansion ?

Once you get 100 people on a map, you can think about expanding. Right now? No point ... I mean, when are you supposed to ever meet a fellow survivor then. more zombies, more illnesses, more medication, more of a skill system, more hunger, less ammo, less guns, less ready made food ... chernarus can still be a lot of a challenge, as soon as the devs cut down on items.

    Dealing with the frustration

True - and I for my part appreciate a rough estimate over no communication at all. But in a November status report there was a goal postet, to get out an experimental 0.60 hopefully before Christmas. And while "hopefully" for sure is no deadline, it sounds a bit weird, if we are three months later at pretty much the same point, since it is the next upcoming update, not 0.76 people are talking about. The communication strategy probably should level somewhere inbetween, rather avoid all too hopeful statements (Christmas...), but simply not talking at all or a hypercool "hey mate, it's done when it's done, comprende?" will probably also not cut it for many users. I am aware you ar NOT dependent on users liking the way communication is handled. People will have to accept that and they did buy into early access. However, it would be good if some frustration with the comunication strategy by some customers should also be accepted. Be and let be ...

    Dealing with the frustration

All good ... everyone of us has his opinions, some stronger, some don't voice them at all. But an opinion basically means taking a side by sharing an opinion or disagreeing with one. If you dig a BMW because they are sporty cars and I say they have a lot of horsepower I do side with you ;)

    Dealing with the frustration

well, not intending to offend, but your post history speaks an own language. You are of course entitled to it, as a mod in particular. but especially when many good, but critical threads wander to the graveyard because one or two posters made doubtful posts (instead of just removing those), this tends to look like window cleaning as well. It's all fine, it's your boards, your rules, your enforcement, but I think it would not hurt to concede that of course you are inclined to defend the game or the devs respectively. Nothing wrong about it.

Respawn far away from your death location

Looting your own body IS a problem, but I regard far-away-spawn as the wrong way to tackle it.

    Infected Suggestions

footsteps would sure as hell make sense, yes. The zeds do weigh enough to make their footsteps heard. Indeed they should be heard just like these from fellow players.

Is there any hope left? Please tell there is!

Btw. according to November status report, first goal for 0.60 experimental was before christmas, if memory serves me right ... pretty much no communication apart from a cryptic "there is blockers" since then and a temporary goal update for February, which in turn was missed again. Now we're a quarter of a year behind the original schedule.

    Public servers killing dayZ!

What is DayZ really? What you want it to be? Currently it just really IS an unfinished and in various aspect broken game. That's what it really is. Everything else is wishful thinking, no matter which side you're on. You are of course also entitled to your opinion. Mine is that there is better dedicated shooters on the market - the real gap in the market was a realistic survival game back then, which includes elements of health, horticulture, PvP and much more. Many gaming magazines have since been bashing DayZ for its focus of development and for the slow pace - so it is not just "the forums", but these are of course easier to flame against. That said, one liners isn't my standard and as it is, we have different opinions. That's fine and good in my book.

    Infected Suggestions

Definitely NOT. You should be able to clear a town for instance with tactics, stealth and weapons. More zombies are a must. A constant respawn is just ruining the game. We had this solution before and SA should come up with something better. As for the OPs point. I like most of them. More screaming ... well, not necessarily, I wanna keep my hearing intact. I cannot see the use of guns by zeds, not sure about melee. All the other points I pretty much agree with. Also with infected animals and children.

Is there any hope left? Please tell there is!

It's actually not three months, time should be calculated from either stable to stable or experimental to experimental release ... so we are closer to four and a half months since 0.59 exp hit the servers. That's a whole quarter of a year. If they would keep the rough pace, 1.0 would appear in about 40x4 months .... something like 160 months, so just about 14 years. Some Alpha adopters will watch 1.0 from the cementery :P

    Public servers killing dayZ!

Thanks, that's great to hear - and B.I. comments like this are very much appreciated, I am definitely not just speaking for myself here. I think we all tuned down like four days ago? ;) and @pilgrim: I think Orlok refers to our previous posts from Saturday. Granted, not only you have probably pretty much forgotten about this little argument ;)

None. But who cares, there will soon be another gun. Who needs game content.

    Status Reports?

They do come out on Tuesdays. But I can give you tonights status report in advance: 1. thanks for your patience. It has been a busy week and we have been working on a variety of subjects (something with guns probably); a part of the new renderer is implemented into internal test versions. 2. Work on 0.60 continues, as expected - there are still blockers to solve before the update will hit experimantal branch. (no, there won't be any date...) 4. Some random item(s) will probably be showcased in graphics ... 5. pretty random community video by yet another streamer in order to help those of you not familiar with youtube. 6. Have a good evening.

    Helicopter crashes

Yes ... in a way I think "helicopter routes" should not exist, so my suggestion is either to make it more spawnpoints all across the map or really to make it random. I see the point of NWAF being an "endgame" location ... and it makes sense that mil loot is most prevalent at a big military installtion. Which doesn't imply that mil loot shouldn't spawn anywhere else, but you get what I mean. When it comes to heli crashes, why should they have preset locations. They could also have crashed somewhere else around the map. Personally I would prefer this to these preset heli crash routes. One could argue both ways, though.

    Public servers killing dayZ!

Nope, the current narrow focus on gun related stuff is a mistake in my book. The game itself would have great potential, if survival elements were developed with the same itensity as weapon sounds, weapon sway, gun attachment, gun damage system, shooting from vehicles ... and so on. For the time being, yes, the game is broken for me ... so I look what I can get from the game in the meantime. I am by no means a fan of PvP, but I cannot play survival at the moment, since the game lacks these elements. And yes, of course I paid for it ... actually bought my brother a copy too, so in fact I paid twice even - but that's not the actual point. And yes, it's fine if you think the direction the game is heading is good. I do respect different opinions, but and I don't expect you to think the way I do. I just do expect you to take it as my opinion and that's about it.

    Helicopter crashes

Was this to add content or to prove, that you post the coolest comments on the block? ....
  21. Noctoras

    Helicopter crashes

Well, random locations for heli crashes are a good idea. There is no reason why they should exclusively be in the North West.

Why should I, if I still can get some fun out of this game in its present form? Because you say so? Well ... okay, since you're the super cool internet guy, okay.

    Public servers killing dayZ!

Point is, it should not only be a PvP shooter, CoD or Battlefield are handling this better. Food shortage, medical trouble, zombie attacks, wild animals PLUS players .... that's the stuff survival is made of. Not just waiting, if someone is lying in the next house waiting to snipe you. If that's all the game is about, the map is too huge, the medical system redundant, the zombies pointless and the game basically a mistake. If it ever becomes a survival game, private sheds will have their merits for me as well. Right now, this is no survival game, when weapons are more abundant than food and readily canned food is available in supermarket quantities.

    Public servers killing dayZ!

Different argument. Not everyone has days of spare time at hand to search for equipment just to be killed by someone he doesn't even see. So some people might just look for the quick gear and action stuff. Since there is no survival element in the game, I have actually come to do so myself lately. I want to have some fun, but can't sink hour after hour into the game. I cannot play survival, so what option do you have? That said, on private hive, as soon as an update comes out, clans hunt for the vehicles. If you only find time on the fourth day after a new update, forget about vehicles and some other quality stuff. So yeah, I do understand your point, if time is not an issue. If time is precious, private servers can be bothersome.

    Beta in Q2?

Yes, it is, as long as said people could also go for another project which yields much money again. Sole motivation? probably not. Working for little to nothing? (most revenues have already been generated) ... also a bummer. It's just human, it's their job and from their share they have to feed families. So I really would not play the idealist card here. It's an industry, not a monastery or Mother Theresa ;)
