I am quite open when it comes to criticism as well, BUT in your statements, lots are simply not true. - most people will have a gun with matching ammo in less than 30 minutes. Which is way too easy in my opinion, since guns should not be more common than food, but often they are. If you play a sandbox or survival game, you shouldn't just stumble upon tons of ammo and guns. Surviving should be difficult. It is a daring task to sneak around an armed group unnoticed, when you only have a melee weapon. It's fun as well. If youz want to be ready for a shoot out ion 2 minutes, there are a lot of other games on the market. In my opinion, getting guns and ammo is still way too easy. With my current char, my toughest task was to decide whether to drop my SVD with mag and ammo for an M4 or not ... I don't like this kind of trouble. - Loosing players quick? have a look at steam charts. Last time we had as many peak players as we currently have was March 2015. So we are not looking at a game bordering death. Granted, ARK or Rust do attract more players, but DayZ left its decline with 0.60 gewtting online,.

Reminder - need to know what server you were last on?
Noctoras replied to Mookie (original)'s topic in New Player Discussion
The server browser needs a major rework most important: allow for a quick report function, so that people dont have to go through a complicated form procedure to report abusive servers or servers not sticking to the rules (just look at all the join / kick ones since like forever) second: make the history tab somewhat useful, so that you can see which server you were last on third: the friends tab should show which friend is on which server fourth: when login queues are implemented, length of queue / number of waiting should be displayed -
yep. They are working on a new server browser for 0.61. If this browser will not include a "reporting" button, I reckon allowing to break the respective is deliberate in order to maximise server cash flow. Given how much this topic has been discussed over and over, not implementing an easy way of reporting would be intentional. You are right, we will see.

Basically yes. But they tacke problems where there are non and existing problems keep untouched. Just browsing the list will still give you many join=kick server and probably many more who do not name it, but do it. In order to kick someone you need to see the player list. I don't know, but to me, removing the player list for your average player is working on the wrong end of the stick.

lucky you ;) I am happy, if I got one person to play with, maxing out on two :P and usually our interaction is rather limited, since KOS is a lot more prevalent than on experimental ;)
-
Exp times tend to be the best times for playing .. thereafter people are splitting again into KOS, server hopping, private servers, white listed ones, role play and so on ... exp is a joint experience.

nope, nothing else seen here, but calling chickens wildlife is quite a stretch ;)

Sort of unfortunate, that THESE are the complaints which are listened to it before all others. Not going to go down the "vocal minority" route and leave this to others, but the "more guns" attitude displayed ever so often by the game development actually makes your assumption pretty reasonable. Survival for me means that not every freshspawns runs around with guns+ammo within 20 minutes, but well. Before I do the "broken record" thing too often, I am jumping out again as well. Btw. I am back from cuba. The real car mechanics live there. Actually our bus broke down somewhere in nowhere and the two drivers just took off there shirts, motor kept running and a minute later you heard hammering from under the bus. Luckily Cuba is not DayZ, so the drivers did not require 73 guns to defend themselves :P That said, the Cuban loot table should contain more beer. The whole town of Vinales did not have any beer for 3 days straight. Will finally play again tomorrow, wonder what happened in the last two weeks to 0.60. Regards Your Vocal Minority

I hope when I am back in 2 weeks, 0.60 will be on stable!
-
Pleasure, I am probably almost too late, but I told myself better now than later, so I am flying now @Emu: In a DayZ with skill system, the Cubans sure would have "car repair" as a major skill set ;)
-
I honestly couldn't care less, since tomorrow morning I will be on a plane to Cuba and internet in Cuba is ... well, a rare and precious thing ;) I hope nonetheless that BI gives her customers a treat and puts the servers up, be it in the last stable unstable version or with a new build

If you are talking about 0.55, have you really played it? After getting used to the fact I will need apples, death by starvation never happened to me again. It was not too easy to get enough food, but if you took your time at apple trees and ponds, you would also soon be energised, hydrated, healthy. It was just more risky doing so, since you'd be out in the open when picking apples, ready to get shot at.

It's not about importance and entitlement. It's just a nice gesture they can do or not do, simple as that. When I got a slice of sausage for free from the butcher's back when I was a child, I didn't feel entitled to it, yet I was grateful every time I got one. You just mix up feelings of entitlement and gratitude for customer service here. And maybe a slight disappointment, if some of us don't get the candy, or the sausage. It's not really a fine move to come up with the broken record of the "entitled" again.

yet they never said how it could be counter productive to have the server running on an older version as opposed to it not running at all. Unless counter productive refers to the server or electricity bill, then they are right of course. Other than that, what's the plausible reason to keep it down for the weekend? And yes, they will not progress, IMT. However, it will not hold process either. It would merely be a customer service. If they are ready to do it based on this, that's another question.
-
hm, would be an option to switch back to the last relatively stable version of the unstable branch from today till Sunday then? It would allow for people to play again after quite a dire period when it comes to game time ;)
-
ah, I see, thanks

why do so many guys actually go transgender? I always perceive it as weird and not exactly cool to hear a male voice from a female char. Off topic, but the pic brought this up again.
-
I sure hope so, since I will soon be in Cuba with no internet at all.
-
well, I cant delete
-
haha, well, that's part of experimental. I prefer that way over not playing at all. Nothing bad about some game breaking fun bug :P
-
just been on that server for a minute as well. now I am gone again ^^
-
well, in fact they had re-used previous builts the weekend before to let us play. Since there are NO servers at all currently, they do not serve any testing purpose (unless they test community reactions to idle server capacity). Thus, there is no obvious point in NOT providing an old version on the servers as long as there is no testing at all going on. So I can partly understand where he is coming from, especially given that 0.59 is around for half a year already, so many people don't feel like reverting to a version they played to death already. If servers would be off for updating or for testing a new version, that's another story. Just removing them without an apparent necessity is a thing I do not appreciate. Not making a fuss about it, but I can understand that some people are indeed left disappointed.
-
True that :)
-
Can't see how putting them up with the last "stable exp" build would actually hurt their testing, but I guess we have to cope with stuff being down for the time being.

I agree on that one. Still everyone is well fed, everyone has a firearm, no incentive or need to trade or keep each other alive. There definitely still is space for improvement.
