My head tracking doesn't work at all...never mind sluggish. It's frustrating cuz I won't play the game without it. Probably been two weeks now with no DayZ.

Head tracking hasn't worked since the last update. Is it my computer or something with the update

tried 0.62.140267. No change.

When I verify file integrity I get a ' 1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired' message. Anyone else have this?

I think that's the update I'm on. I can't seem to enable head tracking in the settings.

I've gotten sick in this update. I don't know if it's from drinking pond water or numerous infected encounters. Color is washed out and I am getting a 'I feel rundown' text message. We will see what happens.

I'm finding that when I select 'play' on the server I used the last session I get a 'memory could not be read error'. If I then go into the server menu and pick the server I last played on than all is good.

Had some fun last night. New spawn and fought a few zombies until I was out of bandages and bleeding. Not finding any rags I finally decided to commit suicide by zombie so I took two on without really trying to defend myself. Just then a player ran by on the road, saying 'Hello' and kept on running, no offer of help. Having a possible source of salvation in the area I dispatched the two zombies and took off after the player. Unfortunately I couldn't keep up and lost him in a small village. I checked as many of the houses that I could, all the while asking for help. No luck and I went unconscious and then died. Did have some trouble picking some things off the ground. Also some doors didn't quite work and opening the trunk on a car opened the front doors, not the trunk.

Got a chance to play experimental over the weekend. Logged in and started collecting gear. I found a pitchfork but couldn't put it on my back or the ground so I ran around with the pitchfork in my hands until I found a shovel. I had some seeds so thinking I would eventually do some farming I tried to put down the pitchfork and take the shove. No luck. I had to log out and log back in to find the pitchfork on the ground and then I could pick up the shovel, which of course I could not put down or put on my back. About this time I ran into another player who said 'hello'. I said 'hello' back and moved towards him but he must have interpreted my shovel in hand as a threat and took off. I went into a house, saw a pistol and tried to put the shovel on the ground. Eventually I ended up pressing 'G'. The shovel flew away and I was suddenly laying down, half submerged in the floor. I couldn't crouch or stand up. I could 'swim' around though and swam up to the shovel but couldn't take it. I did notice more infected and more varieties of same so things look promising. I'll try again this evening and see what happens.

I will have to check which server I am on but it has rained steady for two real life hours this evening and pretty well the whole last few days. My barrel has persisted for a least a week so that's one good thing. But I haven't seen anyone else on this server in that whole time and I guess if it rains that much why should I? I hate changing servers just because the one I am on isn't giving me 'fun' conditions. I want to play the hand I am dealt so to speak. So like my barrel I persist and will log on again tomorrow.

Loving the game so far. Played the last three nights in a row and everything working fine. Yesterday I logged in to a torrential downpour. Couldn't see anything outside of a 100m radius (guessing at that). Frames were down to mid 30' but graphics were cool. Every time I put on my raincoat I got the heating up message so I had to move slowly. One thing I noticed is that during the first part of the session using the mouse to select something off the hot bar dropped me into the desktop. The game was still running fine and I could mouse click my way back in. I did this three or four times to verify. Later in the session the mouse click to the hot bar worked as previously but Ididn't really need it as the key press hot bar thing was smooth throughout. I don't know how many other players were on but I stopped in the middle of a field and grew some pumpkins...just enough to keep me going.

Good advice S3V3VN. Even 'older' graphics cards are designed to take load off the CPU. Good advice to push your graphics card and leave the CPU to more mundane tasks. By the way I run an 'older' I7 but this chip overclocks so easily that I still run stable at 4.6 GH.

Played last night and was having a good time. Tracked down and killed a chicken with my machete. Night fell and I took shelter in a remote cabin. I decided to build a fire and cook my chicken. I set about divesting myself of various items and then headed out into the dark to chop some firewood and then POW POW POW . I don't even see my attacker or his muzzle flashes. I was able to run 15-20 m then fall unconscious. I wait to see if he might somehow or ever have a change of heart and bandage me or at least put me out of my waiting misery but no. After mins. of being unconscious I die. So here I am this evening, ready to start again.

Played tonight and it was fun. Logged on and of course my stash (barrells) are gone. So off I go exploring. Eventually I enter a house. I hear someone coming in behind me so I raise my hands and start saying ' I'm friendly' over and over. The KOS Kiddie only has a 22 bolt action and the standard motorcycle helmet. He starts shooting and loading and shooting and loading I am dancing around, arms raised saying I am friendly, I am friendly. He keeps loading and shooting until eventually I die. I was disappointed in him, whoever he is in real life. I could have changed all this by shooting him but didn't want to. And yeah I know this is a game and people can play it the way they want but an opportunity was missed tonight in my opinion. Question is who missed that opportunity? But what the heck, I re-spawn and go on.

Had a good time tonight and then played some DayZ too. I had to change servers because I couldn't get on the last one I played. On this server my barrels were gone with all my farming stuff as well as my stash of sliced pumpkin. Oh well, easy come, easy go. I set about rebuilding my 'nest' and in the process stalked a couple of guys who were determined to kill a chicken with a shotgun. The blast sound was really loud and I felt for the chicken. I hope there was enough left for them to harvest. I didn't have the firepower to defend myself if I announced my presence so I decided to just follow them for a bit. That was interesting because I was carrying a jerry can of water. (I am a determined farmer). Eventually they lost me or I lost them. Later I stalked another player, this one from well off but he was on one of my runs. So, my habitat is now overrun with tourists. Maybe time to move shop.

Had an interesting session last evening. I spawned in the pouring rain with night fast approaching. The wipe the day before had taken most of my gear. I wanted to try growing something in the rain and at night so I ran around frantically looting, looking for seeds and a hoe. It was very soon pitch black and raining harder than I've ever seen in Dayz. My frame rate was lower than usual too but still decently in the 50's. At some point I alt-tabbed out to adjust the scroll wheel on my mouse and got an all white screen on rejoining the game. I could hear the rain in the background but had no mouse pointer. Task Master showed the game 'not responding' so I shut it down and then rejoined. Upon rejoining I was 'unconscious'. I didn't wake up for five minutes so I shut down and tried again. This time I was conscious but almost all my gear was ruined. It was still pouring rain. I continued my pursuit of farming items and eventually was able to grow pumpkins and did not have to water them. However by the time this happened the sun was up so I didn't get the chance to see if gardens will grow in the dark. I don't adjust gamma at night and I have to say that it was the gloomiest night I've ever spent in Dayz, no moon and heavy rain. Daybreak though, with the morning mist in the air was awesome.

One lonesome water bottle was all i've encountered in days. Find a server with the "Revenge of Eugen" approach..... "growing in the rain ... lalala" I'm a ways inland but avoiding the bigger cities and still not finding containers of any sort. No big deal...there's chickens and fish. I guess if there's been a wipe then my barrels and farming gear are gone, axe too. Would be interesting if the rain automatically watered crops?

Anyone know if containers are spawning? I haven't seen a canteen, plastic water bottle or cooking pot in hours. Can't water my pumpkins. I keep eyeing the galvanized pails in the wooden sheds. I hear there is a way to craft a leather water bag but all I see so far for wildlife is chickens.

Had a lot of fun over the weekend and also played some DayZ. I killed a chicken and 'crafted' a bone fishhook and finally was able to fish, very peaceful even while expecting the 'you are dead' screen. Eventually i caught a carp and retreated into the forest where I nervously built a fire to cook my catch. I found that the campfires burn out very quickly, hardly giving me enough enough time to cook, in fact I had to build three separate fires to cook my chicken breast and my fillet. I guess you have to have an ample supply of logs in the vicinity to keep things going?

No, i didn't check her pulse, didn't even think of it with all the commotion going on. Coming into the building after me would not have been a good idea for them. I felt safe enough hunkering down and I can be patient. I was hoping they'd get bored and move on, just didn't count on the clipping.

Thanks but I like thinking about it. Moral questions make this game different. I could've waited a second or two more to see if 'she' was attacking or about to speak. A second or two could've made a big difference.

Yesterday I was looting a house when I heard voices outside. Someone outside announced "I see you" in a 'feminine' voice and 'she' immediately came into the building and quickly moved towards me. I put 'she' in quotes because I am not sure the player was female. She had a rifle on her shoulder and no weapons in her hands but the quickness of her actions spooked me and I shot her. I could hear footsteps outside, a lot of them, with people chattering about their friend and if he/she was dead and what had happened. I told them I was friendly but that their friend's actions had scared me and I don't take chances anymore. They seemed to think I was a KOS guy. I'm not....just cautious. They started running around and hitting the outside walls of the building I was crouched in. I could see pitchforks clipping through the wall at times. i kept on trying to explain and was making some headway when I got the 'you are dead' message. Must have been a ptichfork through the wall. What do you guys think? Did I over react or did my victim bring this on her/himself?

Just played for a couple of hours. Yes! Everything clicking and frames at 70 plus even though the server I logged into was a higher ping than I wanted. I found a barrel right off the hop and not much else so I ran inland, carrying my barrel like a dung beetle in the National Geographic documentaries, all the while expecting to get KOS'd. I stopped and deliberately drank from every pond I came across with no ill effects so far. I came across different types of bullets but no rifles or pistols until eventually I found a Sporter and 50 x 22 rounds. I felt so much safer loading that one long rifle cartridge into the rifle.(Yeah, right! ) I didn't find any backpacks, even the school girl type. I noticed a few graphical artifacts but nothing to even remotely detract from playability. Also no infected until I got inland and then it seemed only one or two. All in all a very cool experience and looking forward to what happens next.
