I was so busy tonight and found only UK servers up and they had a pretty bad lag. Rummaged a bit thru a military base, heard shots and jammed into the bushes and watched some armed guy running around being chased by a zombie, guess he was saving bullets or out. He headed out and I took my shovel to the rest of the zombies and then found nothing bleh. Headed north and found a couple aks's in a hunting stand with the ladder, which have been completely empty for me so far in .60. Nice binoc's too and I come down and load the only 10 rounds I had into it and felt much better. Here comes a woman up the hill, I say hi, she says hi, I tell her there are a couple rifles in the hunting stand and she stops talking and just dances around so I get bored and say see ya have fun and head north and she follows me. Gets closer and doesn't know I see her with my look back, runs the last few steps and whips out her fireaxe and I do a 180 and fast run and then spin around and blam blam blam. I never heard a woman character make the I'm dead sound, till tonight. Every single piece of nothing she had was ruined, silly me and my panic shooting. Did the hide body and nothing happened. I was overheating badly so I went into some bushes about a mile away and went prone and that didn't help. It kept saying I am warming up rapidly. Guess when I get back on I should find a pond and take a bath. Since the servers are bouncing around, I am only going to deal with what I can carry I guess. Limits what I can try out and play with and test out. I'm still in serious survival mode, getting into a water pump and sitting there drinking, seems like suicide at this point. I just finally got healthy status on 3rd person, I wonder if I am HOT cause I am sick? I fought 4 zombies at once with a shovel because of the lag and was bitten several times. I don't believe my gear took any damage at all during that frenzy. I think I am in Zelenogorsk, there are several military buildings here and sadly empty except for a 7 packs of .45.

I spawned the other day and found a backpack almost instantly and grabbed everything I could get my hands on and ran into the woods and went thru all the junk in an open spot in the woods. I put down a rifle and tape, lockpick, screwdriver and about 8 other items and then moved some stuff around in the backpack and poof, about 30 seconds in the ground and everything vanished. I tried that again after a bit and it didn't vanish. It seemed like a timer went off and it wiped the ground in front of my eyes. Maybe it sank :-D

Thanks, I was playing 1st person on S W server but it's gone now. I just started a 3rd person on S W 0-1 server. I'm near Pavlovo. I'm off for the rest of the night. I'm gonna try some fishing tomorrow night when I get home from work. Maybe I'll catch a VSS :-)

So I tried deleting the cfg files, nothing. Problem solved by reinstall. Played for about an hour in 3rd person. Found some boots and couldn't swap them with my tennis shoes, took off my tennis shoes and got stuck barefoot cause they vanished and still couldn't get the boots on. Crawled around prone and nothing. Then I tried putting the boots into my hands and they popped into my hands and then popped onto my feet by themselves. Still no bottles or canteens. Time for some food and then maybe later I will try to find an oak tree.

Nothing, reloaded presets, nothing.

I just got in and my C and X keys are gone, I look in config and crouch and stand are blank and it won't let me program them. In windows my keys work fine. I can't find any other keys that don't work. Looks like I am going to have to log out ack and reinstall or something drastic. F keys all work, raise hand, flip off, sit etc..doesn't change ,my problem.

It almost seems like the game is more fun when you have nothing. I ran and ran and ended up at a military base and ran around with nothing like I was on drugs and scared of nothing. I ran out in the middle and ran in circles and laughed and waited for death since I was pretty sure I was about to starve to death, but death did not come for me. I ran through the empty tents and found 1 can of damaged peaches and ate and could almost taste them. I grabbed every piece of gear I could find and made it to the water pump and drank as if it were champagne. The zombies were all gone, so my stone knife stayed sharp and my couple of bandages stayed clean. There was ruined gear everywhere. The signs of a major fight were at every turn. Most of the death seemed to be inside tents as if someone ran to the entrance of the tent and opened fire inside at someone looting something nice. I had nothing nice so I really didn't care and it made me feel very calm and I really felt like I was having more fun then when I am fully loaded with great gear and worried at every turn. Running from bush to bush gets very tiresome. I really would like to be able to bury my gear where it can not be taken, so I could go on a suicide romp through towns with minimal survival gear. I would probably do a couple cans of food, 1 canteen, pumpkin seeds, a stone knife, a shovel for fighting and a bunch of bandages and I could cruise the map with no fear of being shot, knowing I could just limp back to my buried stash. Once I get a bottle or canteen, I will be able to settle down and do some serious testing. Right now I am just trying to survive.

I'm getting in without too much trouble. Hovering the mouse where the button is and just hitting enter and when it says joining I count to ten and start hitting enter and the button comes up saying couldn't join blah blah and I am tapping enter and it goes back to joining game and I relax and count to 10. When it says full and pops right back up, I am just tapping enter until I see the joining game again. Luckily my TV is in line of sight of my computer chair so I just barely watch the computer screen and watch and episode of Big Bang or The 100 etc so I don't get too frustrated.

I'll try that next time it happens, thanks. It didn't matter anyway, spent all my time getting in and was out of time anyway. Real always ruins everything. Had to go do a pile of stuff that I had been putting off all morning. I popped into 3rd view tonight and oddly enough, after an hour of play, never heard a gunshot and never saw a soul.

Ok tough time getting in today but did and played for about an hour. Suddenly my right mouse button stopped bringing the rifle scope up to my eye and got stuck doing view zoom. I recall this problem a few updates ago but can't recall if there was a fix. So I went into some bushes and crouched to mess with that and I couldn't stand back up. I went prone and then was stuck prone. I could move forward and backwards and turn but stuck prone. I popped out and opened open office writer and my keyboard was still working lol. No scope, no running gasp....logout.

Hmm another long run, about 1 1/2 hours. A Long Range Scope fits onto a trumpet now. You guys keep leaving that .22 cal ammo for me :-) I cruised around the hillside snipering the infected until there was only one left inside some building and she was doing housework I guess because she didn't want to come out. It was nice to have some food and I still have no bottle or canteen. Soon as I get that I am gonna plant these pumpkin seeds. Water pump, bottle and pumpkin seeds and finally I will clean that shovel off in some dirt. Welp, Friday night, gotta go out for a little while and then more fun later.

I saw a flare in a town moving around and I was at the water's edge and I would say about 500 feet away. Lots further then before when it was about 90 feet and lights would vanish.

I have no idea what that was lol. He doesn't explain anything. I'm clicking clicking clicking ..clicking what? I don't see his mouse cursor on anything.

Climbing a ladder might have cleared that...it did a few patches ago. Rope was a few rags tied together.

Just the obvious walk up to another player test :-) I've tried pissing off zombies, sneaking up to them and getting within 10 feet and then opening the mic and yelling at them to no avail.

A good example of why there should be an unchangeable name over everyones head. Look out it's Billythekid!

For me, in my documents directory is a dayz directory and in there is a file called DayZ.cfg. Delete.. Then start Dayz and should be ok after that.

Pick the smallest ping .60 server. put it in favorites..have nothing else in favorites. Highlight it, hit connect over and over and over as fast as you can. Do not give up! Go faster! Think positive! Say something nice to your computer! Give it a hug! Seriously!

Nice job on the instant in at least. I get the feeling that certain actions might be causing server crashes and everyone is testing everything out and everyone is getting to those issues and causing crashes. It's hard to determine which actions those are unless you get a crash over and over doing it and that is rare cause getting in is tricky and who is gonna want to try taking chicken off the stick once it is cooked or whatever. Hmm maybe 3rd person view which is suppposed to be easy mode is really easy mode now.

Pick the fastest .60 ping and just sit and hammer that one. Also people have probably noticed that at some point you hit connect and absolutely nothing happens and I think, did I hit it or what and suddenly I'm in. One time I was clicking stuff like crazy while I was actually in that paused moment and when I was about to click on a different server I was suddenly taken in and immediately booted back out cause I was clicking all sorts of crap after I was accepted by a server and still sitting at the main screen. Bleh!

I couldn't step over corpses of people, so I carved them up into steaks and then went inside, which thinking back was a bad idea.

If you have show full servers, you should see more then 1 .60 server. Anyhow switch into your options in for steam on that game and switch beta test off.

Well that was 2 logins since I got home, a nice run and I froze screen crash up the stairs in a firehouse. When I logged back in after about 15 minutes of spamming connect, I got in on a different 1st person server and I was on the beach "gasp". I found my self mostly lost a couple times, thinking I was heading one way and ran into ocean again, Foggy :-D Saw a flare from very far off in town, moving around. Haven't seen a canteen or bottle yet. Got some rewinding in town with several players fighting zombies. Only 3 quickbar spots. I saw a message saying you are warming up. Only seen the energized and hydrated so far. Found a better pair of pants and had to drag them to my pants and hit swap to get them on. Some strange lighting effects in buildings. Unless I am mistaken a zombie teleported from the ground floor to the roof of a police station and started dancing with me and my stone knife. He came out of nowhere and I suppose he might have been hiding in the fog. Fought about 20 zombies so far with axe, stone knife etc and they seem to warp around a bit. No diseases from zombies so far, after lots of bleeding. I have seen stuff vanish when I set it down. Bed....work....then more connect..connect.connect.

Well I was looking through a house and found a zombie in a room with the door closed. Not sure if he was afraid of the other zombies or just trying to give me a sneaky surprise or maybe some player closed him in there. The zombies don't seem to be doing anything different. A big town untouched has a lot of zombies and the sound is still goofy even with surround sound headphones. I can tell he is in front of me but could be 1 foot or 60 feet and sounds the same.
