I might let my tent stay put as long as I see no dev's saying otherwise.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Excanto replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Well when the .55 patch first came out, I was duking it out with the 1st couple zombies with my axe and I was having a great time with the new difficulty and I noticed my gear wasn't ruined at all. I think one piece went from pristine to worn. I realized that the fighting was going to be more exciting then side step swing, home run and I also realized that I am going to need more leather and cloth repair kits. Now when zombies are standing in the same location I am standing and I swing my axe, I am swinging at air. That is not how it should be, obviously. -
The update takes place on Tuesday night at 11:pm pacific time, if I recall. So Tuesday evening I would just eat all the food and drinks in my tent and make the hard choices of what to dump on the ground and then fold up the tent and hold it in my hands and log off. When I log back on the next day after work, I am no longer stuffed (odd) and my tent is in my hands or has fallen on the ground while logging in, something I think they fixed recently. Setup tent and get back to filling it with extra helpful items, food, drink, ammo, repair kits etc.

The zombies never got close enough at the gas station to get on board. I parked next to a base and while in the base a zombie popped near my truck and walked over and climbed on. At the time I had a .22 so it made for nice target practice, since he never came down to get me while I fired. At some point I believe I did fit a jerry can in my hunting backpack, but it took the entire pack. I dumped everything to see if it would fit. That was a couple months ago. Just recently for the first time ever, I found a truck out of gas and a little later found a jerry can with 80% and dumped my 2cnd rifle and hand carried the can all the way back to the truck and used it on the gas tank and it actually worked. I drove back and parked the truck in the trees near nw airfield and got my rifle back. :-D

Hmm, when a server resets it rolls you back a certain amount of time. For instance, my friend was shot and died and I was on the run and server has not responded for 22 23 24 25..When we logged back in, it was just us on the server and he was alive again and we were where we were just before the ambush. Maybe you found stuff and got rolled back to before you found stuff. As for the stuff vanishing? I have never had anything vanish. I keep the most important things in my backpack because it seems zombies hit the other equipment and ruin things in them, for instance pants ruined and everything in them ruined. I keep my backpack completely full due to that issue. I only have space in my backpack when I am a bambi, Nothing in my backpack moves when it is full. If I leave some space, stuff reorganizes and I hate that.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

My opinion on this is that the .55 patch had some problems and they did a meld of .54 and .55 to calm the masses, while they work on fixes. The zombies have problems because of this meld and I doubt it was intentionally how they wanted things. My advice at this time is to avoid a zombie infested area for the time being and make selective insertions into a dangerous area, only when it can not be avoided. I am living on the outskirts and slipping in and out of small towns. The other option is like what has been stated several times before, using the run through empty handed and gather up all the zombies and run them out of town and circle around method. I haven't actually tried this, but it might do in a pinch. I am farming near a water pump. I'm on finding seeds and a replacement shovel duty at the moment. I might try dumping my gear in a tent and going for a suicide mission with 5 rolls of bandages :-D -
There were about 4 zombies in the last gas station I found when I was driving and low on gas, I thought maybe I could just pull up to the pump and the zombies were the old full service crewmen. They refused to fill up my truck. I went down the block and came back at full speed and caught one on the road and hit him and it flipped my truck? Somehow I was unharmed and the truck righted itself so I ran the rest over. Thanks for the info on the getting gas from the pump with a bottle. I suppose you can take those propane canisters and refill them on those big white propane tanks behind some houses?? Not to get too far off topic but, is sharpening axes etc broken? tnx.

I just made it out to North West Airfield, the hangers actually had stuff? There were at least 25 big backpacks, of course boots galore, but about 6 sks rifles, a couple pistols with magazines and lots of bottles and canteens. Been awhile since I saw more then boots and backpacks in there.

Ya, that long slow walk out of the water when I get back to the coast makes me very nervous. I usually do not head out there unless I have matches and an axe so I can avoid freezing to death, but lately it seems warmer and I can just shake off the water like a dog.
-
I have a mosin and an ak101 with 2 magazines and about 120 cartridges extra. Fairly decent gear just found a pot, have 8 rocks, just found an axe and I've had matches forever. I am creeping along and see a ruins and a military building. I scan around and I don't see any zombies and I start heading down slowly and looking around and then suddenly 2 zombies are on me from behind and start pounding me. There inside me so I can't shoot them, I backup and they step forward inside me again, I run and spin and they are inside me again, I circle and after a few lucky shots timed before they step inside me, they are down and I run. I'm bleeding and my leg is sore and I stop a ways away and spin around to see 3 more on me same thing. When they are finally down after a reload and much bleeding and a broken leg and face down in the dirt and a morphine injecter and a second bandage, I check my gear. OMG! Ruined Ruined Ruined Ruined. What a nasty field of ruined nothing and one military building that didn't have anything in it. I'm going to call this place graveyard. Before I got out of there I had shot 11 zombies in a 1 block radius. Ran 2 miles and started a farm to recover, no pictures please, I'm half naked.

Hmm, I was testing stuff out yesterday, since I was killed during a server reset. Punching the zombie in he face over n over n over. 2-3 punches? I was a wreck by the time I got him down and the next one was on me before I could bandage with my tee-shirt I ripped up as soon as I spawned. Screen going grey, life dripping away, another zombie while I am bandaging, broken leg, crawling along getting hit looking for a sewer drain to crawl into. Next time I die, I am going to just punch my way through town over and over and get some punching practice. I must be getting fat and slow using an akm. )

I just started a character on private server. I spawned on the south coast and limped west with just enough food/water and clothes to stay alive until I went for a swim across to Prison Island. Tons of food, pigged out, bottles and canteens and all sorts of stuff and better clothes and found a sub machine gun to go with the 30 round magazine I had found on the way there. Found a AK74 and some cartridges and then had to decide what to hold onto because swimming drops what is in your hands. Ditched the sub machine gun, cause I don't like it. Ran northwest to the tents camp and found a sks next to a tank. Found that .22 cal Trumpet rifle in a tent and that went well with the two boxes that have 50 cartridges each. Shooting a zombie in the head with that trumpet works, but sometimes when they move right as I am firing, I can get into trouble. Seems to me that the current zombies that look geared like soldiers, might be wearing the bullet proof vest that is currently in game, cause I shot one about 4 times in the chest with the sks before it dropped, but that could have been lag. :-) Ran south of the NW airfield to the small base and found an ak74su, ak74 and akm and no magazines grrr. Hope that helps.

Ya, when the .55 patch hit, I was all about water purification tablets, ponds and pumpkin seeds. Which reminds me, I should be able to farm with my hands. I did when I was a kid, I didn't need a shovel to grow my tomatoes, seeds and water and hands. Ya right now you can go house to house and eat your fill and drink soda's till you puke. .55 patch was more like a real apocalypse and my fully geared character was not prepared for it. :-) He had no shovel, no seeds, no purification tabs and way to few rifle cartridges. I suppose I might try walking instead of jogging when I login this morning and see if I can get from the same point a to point b without getting thirsty. Is it a time thing or a exertion thing. What a target I will be for a sniper! -
I have never been sure about the login procedure, but it seems to me, your character appears and stands there helpless, until you get control and can move or defend yourself. I go way out into the woods and get between a couple close trees in a zombie free (hopefully) area, so when I am a sitting duck, standing straight up, I will be mostly camo'd in the trees. Now if that is not the case on the login procedure, I'd like to know about it. :-D It would be very difficult to find the two trees I am camping out in and I might not be coming back for hours and also not even the same server when I do. Isn't the normal procedure with Bambi's to shoot at there feet and make them dance? Not blow them up and make them fly. J/K

Does someone know why the rain has disappeared since 0.55?
Excanto replied to renpab80@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, when they installed .55 as far as I have seen, the drought began. They did some kind of update soon after because of issues with .55 patch as far as I can tell and it is some sort of a blend of things from .54 state of things and the .55 patch, but still a drought as far as I have seen. Since I started playing about 6 months ago, I have seen tons of rain, I have seen rain for 15 minutes real time, stopped for 1 minute and then rain for 15 more minutes. Usually rain is like 5-10 minutes. Fill up those canteens, get soaked, build a fire, warm up and back to damp, move on. It is very important right now to have bottles which hold more then canteens currently, and know where a water pump is that is fairly hidden from snipers and hordes of zombies. I really like to camp within a couple miles of a water pump. Go here and there and come back to camp stopping at the water pump to fill back up, getting full stomach of water before I leave it. -
A few steps out the door of my tent, next to the bear traps.

LoL! Wow, I have seen some splosions, but that Shinjuru picture is splosionzilla!

I find trucks everywhere, but they are not operational, missing tires. I have never seen any tires, I carried a tire iron for awhile till I made it to a truck and that did nothing. So far I have only found 6 or 7 trucks in as many months and half of those were out of gas. I never found any gas cans once I found an out of gas truck. I found lots of gas cans and never found a truck. Now I mostly carry 2 rifles and can never climb or get into a truck. I can't even get into the back of a truck and catch a ride cause I drop my in hands rifle. Grrrr. As for run speed, I never sprint unless I am being shot at :-D I jog because I lose water so fast and how am I supposed to get anywhere even with 6 bottles with no rain and I really don't have a fantastic knowledge of where the water pumps are and I am usually about to die from dehydration when I am fighting a horde of zombies right in front of a water pump. So close and yet so far. -
LOL! Maybe they want you to take them to your friends camp so they can have dinner. That last truck I drove was on a time sped up server and it had a full tank and I started driving and only made it about 5 miles before the tank was empty and I coasted over to the shoulder. I was always worried about getting out of the truck, that a zombie might we standing there, hungry. I don't think I would even get out of the truck if there was two hitching a ride. Probably try tearing under a low hanging tree. :-O
-
Ya, I used to do that. But somehow I have decided that I would always stand and fight, even newly spawned, I fist fight them. I think I got tired of using their failing AI against them. Maybe if I lose a ton more great gear and get really frustrated, I might try that instead of getting hammered. I am mostly back on my feet now. I was circling a town up on the ridges and sniping the zombies from a safe distance, until I had what looked like all of them. But they respawn in what seems like a random manner. One town was a ghost town afterwards and I built a fire in middle and walked around with my microphone on singing. Another town had a respawn so fast that I couldn't keep them down. I snuck down and hit a few houses but I'm still bruised from the beating so I didn't push it. I found a truck parked at the helicopter south of the military base which is south of NW airfield, I found the helicopter east of that one, but I can't find the third one anywhere. I'm also getting very nervous when approaching anything now, cause of bear traps and land mines.Watch out where you step, careful what you drink. gasp.

I noticed with a bottle drinking all, you can cancel action if you see someone or a zombie coming. If your drinking from a water pump, there is no cancel action and your stuck there till you finish or your finished.
-
I setup one of those tents north of the hill from the NW airfield and went inside, closed all the windows and left the door open and sat there with my rifle pointing out the door giggling. I ran off way north and looped around and came back about 3 hours later and it was already gone and there had been no resets. I would like to have one of those somewhere that it could be hidden. It's very nice dark green but it is as big as a shed. So far I have not put anything important in any tent, just overflow easily replaced stuff like food, bandages, repair kits. I found a great place to put a player tent and it stayed there for 6 days and just before the wednesday patch I was going to empty it and carry it and that dern server was offline all day and night..argh!

LOL! Ah The great outdoors! Lemme go outside and cut a slice of smog pie for dessert. mmm good. Your missing this pie.

Gasp! What a story. I made it back to my body with the backpack I dropped next to me with all the stuff I had found in it and there was 3 zombies that had killed me hanging around and I imagined a few flies buzzing around me as well. Bang Bang I shot them down and a few more spawned and I succumbed to freezing when I was reloading..oops.
