Oh that reminds me, last night I had a trumpet and found a box of .22 cal and loaded 11 in the rifle and after a few times of putting it away and dragging it back into my hands, I fired it finally and click. I looked and it showed empty. I put it away and dragged it back into my hands and then it showed loaded again and click "Bang" it fired. Also my winchester and hunting scope had a hunting scope vanished and same deal, put it away and dragged it back into my hands and it showed the scope again. I never got around to bug reporting that.

I've never been sure when I died if it was by hackers. I'm hiding in the woods in between 3 bushes alone on the server, 1 guy logs in, a long long pause locks me up and then finally releases me so I can close my bag and it says server not responding for 8 9 10...I log back in and I'm on the beach bambiized. I always wonder if hackers can see your gear list and then teleport to your location if you have nice gear and smoke you. On the flip side, I've run with a few guys that were pretty dern sneaky and crack shots and I've thought "Dang, I'm glad these guys are on my side". Every single online game I have ever played has been ruined at some point by hackers. I only know for sure my accomplishments and my fate are in my hands when I am playing a game solo offline. One of my major wishes for Dayz is that hackers would be shut down for good and we all could feel confident that we are getting killed by superior skill. My only advice is to move less, stay under cover, use the binoculars more and scan the horizon all around you before you break cover. Once you break cover, don't come to a stop if you can help it, weave a lot. Like a fighter pilot, don't fly in a straight line for more then 5 seconds. :-D I always think it is hilarious when there are 3 people on a server and I am way off in the bushes thinking one of them might be right by me and ready to attack at any second. Another idea is get a tent, hide it best you can and put all your good stuff in it and go roam around looking for things with bare bare essentials. Then if you get swatted, you only lose that stuff.

I met this lovely girl last month. She was quiet, but beautiful. She lives near the shore in a small run down house. She has brown hair with some green highlights. She said her name is Mraaw. I haven't seen her in a couple weeks. Have you seen her? Has anybody seen her?

I started on the coast with an island offshore, ran east, small town, smoke stack and then finally to the saved my life apple orchard. Just past that was some cows and a square cement wall with a bunch of wrecked cars inside. About 3 cows there.

I think there might be a problem with swapping things. I had a can of soda in my hand and I picked up a jacket and the soda landed on the ground and the jacket in my hand and then all sorts of sticky stuck in my hand stuff started happening. Ended up having my rifle stuck in my hands (which wasn't too bad) for about an hour on 3 different servers. Seems best to move things manually at the moment and for sure do not use quickbar. At least that was the idea yesterday.

Stop having fun while I'm at work!!!! :-D Wipe eh? Ah well, can't wait to get home and try to find an ashwood stick. I got one from a bush once on prison island.

The only thing I have ever been hot in is when I made a full ghillie suit. I was giggling and aiming my long range scope into a big city from a bush covered hill. Before anyone came along, I was overheating. Before long I was at a high level of overheating. Instead of being a sneaky bush that fired a high power rifle, I was a naked guy swimming in a pond. I'm lucky no one came along and shot me while I cooled off in the pond. I decided the full ghillie suit was not for me at that time. Maybe the hunting jacket is doing the same thing. I have seen lots of thermometers around, maybe you have a fever?

So far I haven't found any military clothes. No armored cases or First aid kits. About the only good thing I have is a Winchester and damaged hunting scope and 120 rounds. FNX and 2 mags. Four bottles of water and some food. I'm still wearing starter pants and a wool coat. No zed's and no animals so far today. I've walked past 8 pristine acog scopes, 6 pristine fnx pistols and of course a pile of sub machine guns and magazines. Lets not forget the 2000 hats. If I had my way I would call this Hatland or Hatville. Anyone try cooking and eating hats? I recall a story about hobo's boiling their boots to put some flavor in the soup. So I have a gun and I haven't fired it yet, nothing to shoot at. I want to put some hats on a fence and get out to 400 yards and see what the Winchester can do. So damaged hunting scope, do I need to aim high right or what :-O

Normally when I try experimental, it is all the same except a few of the minor changes added in, like new weapons and items and sometimes different zombies or behavior. Right now it seems like experimental for me is all screwed up. Items are stuck on me, in my bags, copy images, vanishing and reappearing items all over. Quickbar is screwed up. It seems like a drastic engine change. To sum up, bambi on coast, stone knife, crossed half the map the get into stable condition, toughest time I have ever had so far to get comfortable and still wearing starting pants and mostly lame gear. Got to a tank that wasn't looted and got a machine gun with a couple mags. Not a single zombie to be seen so far. Thirst and hunger seem to come on fast. I have a Winchester and damaged hunting scope and some ammo so I feel better now. I'll have to go back and play stable soon, cause the items freaking out is bothersome. Do I need to manually update some files or something to smooth out experimental? I'm going to hover around some trucks and tanks that I found and see if anything new spawns. It seems kinda like there is a single spawn of gear and that is it. Like the only things I find are stuff people missed.

Maybe the first sign of being infected :-O /e points ZOMBIE!

I popped into Experimental after work for a fast run before the shutdown. Coast, stone knife, run north, almost dead and found a hat. Alright!! Ooh a can of peaches...saved! More food, an 8 socket jacket on the top floor of a run down house. Pitchfork, seeds, omg a truck!!! Mostly lost so I head north and lol is that the NW airfield?? Yup it sure is, spin around and hit the barracks at the south end. WATER PUMP BABY!! Hmm I realize that I have not seen a zombie since I logged in. I've been sneaking, I've been careful, I've been paranoid and worried, but no slobbery pounding from a zombie? I spin around the whole base and next to the tents and nothing. More driving, more towns and south to the crash site, drove through the small base and it's stripped except for a flare and some .380 rounds. Crash site is barren of gear, still no zombies. Game goes down cause it's 10:50 PM Pacific. I survived !

Biggest problem in apocalypse is that you meet someone nice, they are friendly, you go to sleep, they slit your throat. The end.

I think the end game is crazy maniac in the mountains that eats people and has peoples skulls surrounding his camp full of traps and he's armed to the teeth and even the mountain lions won't hunt there. :-D

Wow a lot of people responded to this one. I would say the problem here is the server you were on. I have been a bambi on several servers and ran all over trying to survive and came across the same difficulties. Everywhere was picked clean. All I had was a stone knife and a water pump. I ran from water pump to water pump, but there was no food except for apples and berries and that is just too boring, but will do in a crunch. Town after town no matter where I went was looted clean like someone vacuumed everything. I just left that server and went onto a different one and then got my shopping cart and started filling it up with goodies. Try a server switch and watch out for the zombies when your a bambi. :-D Luck!

I hide my backpack and grab the military tent and run full speed to an out of the way location, setup the tent and run back for the backpack. Easy Peasy.

I was a bambi and logged onto the public server I have been goofing around on testing things on stable and I ran to the base south of the nw airfield and landed in a splosion. By the time I left I was still missing a can opener and an axe. Sometimes it's fun and sometimes it's plain silly and sometimes it's just boring. I ran over into some bushes about a mile away and logged out thinking that was the easiest re-arm I have ever seen. I'll have to check for tents tonight and some out houses.

I'm glued to the ground mostly while in inventory screen. You can move with the inventory screen open? That would make searching lots easier.

Ya sks ammo is everywhere. Mostly it is right underneath you but you can't see it. I have a Logitech g600 mouse, so I put tab in a button next to my thumb. I can take 2 steps tap tap take 2 steps tap tap and search real nice in tents. Nothing is there visibly, it's sunk into the ground a couple inches. I ground search about 6 times in a tent. 4 corners, 2 in the middle along the sides. So I get in 1 corner and go 1 2 3 hang a left into the next corner and go 1 2 3 on the way back out. I'm pretty sure everyone does that right? %^)

Gearing up is fun! Early on, I used to go hide in the mountains and eat bugs and grow a long beard and starve and die of thirst almost to keep my gear safe. Now I just feel like I can't go to the party in shorts and carrying a shovel. I want to get dressed up nice and find a nice rifle that I can call Veera and dress her up nice and then take her out to party! It is lots of fun to just have some dumpy clothes and a sks with cartridges and no food, so you can dive in everywhere blasting and laughing.

Well, it's hard to say. People are cleaning those crash sites out spotless. So it's hard to say if the loot is elsewhere or cleaned out well. I did a grid search once and found a pile of stuff in about a 10 by 10 area about 300 feet from the crash, I believe I was nw of the crash at that point. Another time I was just searching the ground on and off fast as I ran toward the crash and found 2 rifles and some other gear when I was about 200 feet from the crash. I'm not sure if people are moving it away from the crash so they can come back for it or what. I know one thing though, I am sweating bullets when lots of people are on and I am out in the open like that. :-P

The new dynamic reticle looks nice but is still inaccurate for hipfire :(
Excanto replied to Anax's topic in General Discussion
My opinion appears to be very different. In the old west and still today, fast draw shooters hip fire and are extremely accurate, shooting bottles out of the air etc. Once you fire the gun enough, the aim becomes part of your arm. Now as for this game, the old dot target always needed to be aimed to the left and a little higher, for instance at 20 feet I would aim at the left edge of the zombie at his elbow to hit him dead center stomach. If you hold your mouse very still and aim and then switch to sights you will see where you are really aiming and how much you would need to correct, some practice and you will find aiming to the left some fixes the missing issue. My opinion, the target should be accurate with the dot or the new ( ) style, accurate to some extent, having it off left and high is silly. I love shooting from sights but when I am getting rolled by multiple zombies or players, I have to go in and out of sights mode to move fast to another shooting location and it makes it very difficult, along with the fact that sometimes I accidentally get stuck in sights mode and crawling along when I don't want to during a difficult fight. -
LOL. The ole Bambi first ploy eh. :-D

I saw a land mine in a police station and I started over towards it and then thought WOAH! I decided not to go near it. I'll never know if it is spawned and inactive or set and ready to blow my face off.
