I tried this out, made two fires on a road and then ran and somewhere around 90 meters away poof, big fire no more, I step 1 step closer, poof, big fire return. Then I tried running a few more steps away and looking thru my kashtan scope, big fire returns, no scope, darkness, scope big fire. lol. I jacked up every video setting as high as they would go and no change since my objects and terrain are always at max. With that scope I was out at about 120 meters before it got to the point where one more step further would make it so even the scope couldn't see the fire. No wonder my mountain top fires are not drawing any attention. Nice catch Ori42, did you bug report it?

Same here but it was actually last patch for me when it was real tough and I had found a few sodas and a couple cans and nothing else for a long time and before I died I found a few more sodas and cans and I had nothing on my screen for energized or hydrated, they were blank and I never noticed healing lit, but awhile later it said Healthy and nothing else was lit.

After work, I went for a walk in the woods. I found a nice place to have a picnic and it was very peaceful. Later I came upon a town with some horrid zombies. They were staggering around looking for brains to eat and I wasn't about to let them have mine. AKM kicks hard but it does the job and the kashtan scope and silencer make it all the better. Another barren town with no survivors. They left a lot of things behind when they ran off or died. Seems like a waste to leave this food, so I think I will stay here awhile. When the food runs out, so will I. I'm pretty sure I just saw a zombie come up out of a grave in a graveyard I had just passed. One minute I was alone and the next it was almost on me. I ran into a house and darted through the rooms to get a lead on it and then spun around and waited for it to come out. I could hear it slobbering for brains inside the house, but it didn't come out and I wasn't about to go in looking. I backed up across the street and decided to take what I could and head out. I almost wish I could burn down that house just for good measure. Back into the woods and the cool night air brings on a chill. I cut down a few trees and gathered up some logs. A nice campfire on top of a mountain always cheers me up. I keep hoping some other survivors might see the fire and realize they are not alone. If you're hearing this you are not alone, you are the resistance, stay alive.

It seems to me that we might be in a stage of development where we get tons of gear and have no difficulty surviving, so we can do anything we want. I can travel easily across the map and see all the sights and the zeds are not so horrid, so it is like easy mode. AKM, a couple 75 round mags and a silencer and I can slide thru towns picking off all the zeds with ease and they make noise from pretty far away so I won't get hammered coming around a corner. Like rats in a big maze, there is cheese everywhere and what will the rats do when they have lots of cheese? Well I am going to get fat on cheese and search for something new. :-D Or maybe I will just setup a machine gun nest at this water pump %^)

Not sure, since this update, all the people I have seen, I have said hiya too and there was no shooting. I have heard people say pulse is broken.

One thing is for sure, I would never have ever checked that door on the guard house, since I checked it like 20 times over the course of several months, now it is open and yes even though there is nothing inside, it makes me wonder, what else is not as it used to be. Now I hang out in the guard house, cause I wanted in that place so so bad, <bathroom> and now I can use it instead of those outhouses or those nasty bushes.

Ya I had a close to that idea, wearing zombie clothes and having that shuffling limp walk and moan thru my microphone, maybe record a sloppy eater having soup. Then I could roam around towns and zombies wouldn't attack me and players would run through and try to drag me out into a field so they could glitch kill me and I would whip out my ak-74U RAT TAT TAT TAT TAT.

LOL ZOMBIE!!!

I've been doing that for about 9 months :-) 9 months ago I swapped backpacks and wow a nice pristine hunting backpack and hey where did my other one go and all my stuff...ack! Sometimes logging out and back will make it visible to you, sometimes it goes thru the wall outside, sometimes it just vanishes into nothing in those magic shelves. :-(

Pretty amazing to have a ghillie suit. I have not seen a single net since..hmm..since..uh..since.

When I first start I hit every possible loot spot where ever I am and then move on to the next town until I have the winchester. I have found it in many places. I think the last time I found it, it was in that boring house that has the stone steps up the side into the door of the house. Lately the big starter quest begins with a backpack, so I can pick up all the loot I stumble over as I walk around.

I find the MP5 to be pretty fun. A nice acog scope makes aiming pretty accurate, even though bullet drop is a bit more than I am used to with a 9mm. Lots of mags around, so I can easily replenish after a fun hike though a big town and yeah the zombies come out of the woodwork after you fire one shot. I found a ak-74, kastan scope and mag and assembled it and dropped it on the donation porch. Ran to the next one and gosh, ak-74, kastan scope and mag, assemble, drop. People spawning are going to be happy finding those in the road. I have the model 70 on my back and 3 svd 10 round mags in my pack. I grabbed the ammo box just for good measure and it doesn't hurt. Since the zombies are around in the big town, I'm living there now. Hold up in a nice room with a view, lots of food and several water pumps. I cruise off exploring and make a big wide circle back home. I think I'll start experimenting on the zombies, maybe try to feed some or give some medicine. Perhaps I'll use that jump starter on one if I can find a battery. Oh I know I will make a big circle of fire and beckon one in to play roast the zombie. Get up and play with me zombie <blam blam> get up before you friggen die <blam blam> . On the fighting zombies note, they still seem to move thru me and end up behind me to the side and I have to be the one that gets into face to face position to punch or stab them. It's almost like now they do the side step swing thing. :-D When I was in a truck a zombie in the road actually got out of my way and dodged me and then gave chase. I thought it was a player when I saw it dodge.

There is a log cabin looking house that has lots of wool coats. Other houses and 2cnd story places have even better coats. I usually find a real nice jacket in that house that has several rooms and a stairs up into the middle of a big room that is usually empty. Also the apartment style house in the row of connected buildings in a big town, ya go upstairs to 2cnd floor and there are 2 doors off to the right that open into rooms, that furthest room usually has a nice coat.

There was a backpack in the car and I can slip it in the backpack which is in the car so yes I can put stuff in stuff in cars :-) I didn't want it to vanish and I had hoped someone would see the backpack and get a prize inside...like a cracker jack box )

Kashtan Scope I have seen it several times at the Doorstep Donation building hehe the barred windows building with the door that is now unlocked and there is tons of awesome gear on the doorstep. Now that you mention it, haven't seen a bayonet of any kind lately.

Someone said F2 to raise your hands to clear a stuck weapon, well I had an issue with a mp5 stuck and did the F2 and it went on my back and then my hands were stuck empty and nothing could go in and I F2 again and boom, it went green and I could move stuff again. F2 saved me from a rushing zombie.

Just found a AKM 30rd mag next to a AK-74 mag on the door step of those yummy buildings where the doors were locked and are now open. Do we have a name for those yet? It's the one with bars on the windows, usually at least one at a military base near the entrance. There are several in big towns. It's like they donated stuff to the goodwill and set a bunch of great stuff outside the door. Problem is there is a lot of stuff and you need to dump a bunch of things so you can pick up a bunch of things to dig through the stuff to get to the buried treasure. OOH SVD 10 round mag, FNX with optical sight and 2 mags, sporter and 30 round mag, high cap vests, pistols, mags, food, lights, boots, smersh..OMG!!! Now you need to keep a sharp eye on others closing in for the kill, don't forget your stuff in the bushes. One run, I ended up with much better stuff then the junk in the bushes and I put my junk back on the porch and left. The AK-74 mag is bronze colored so it is hard to miss. The MP5 with a 30 round mag and acog scope is pretty fun. I dumped a 75 round akm mag into a backpack in a car cause I can't eat it.

Now if we had a contest on what we threw away the most, wouldn't the flashlight win, coming up in second place is the white glowstick. :-D

LOL I would love to find a landmine as a bambi so I could play with it!! I'm too paranoid to touch one after I get a few nice items. You would have to be pretty patient to set one and wait for someone to happen along and actually step on it, even on a 50/50 server.
-
I found a pen last night and shoved it out of the way so I could grab the pistol that was hidden? underneath it. I also found a Yellow glowstick in a barracks and since there wasn't a dern thing in the barracks, it was easy to spot.
-
Seriously? Awesome tip Awesome tip :-)
-
Wow you must have had good boots ) I didn't hear or see anything except the "You are dead brudda" I saw a landmine in a guard tower at the military base just north of prison island and I just backed down the ladder, I don't want to mess with them. So where did ya get hit by a landmine? I don't walk on roads and when I enter doors I try to run thru at full speed.

You sure she didn't shoot you with a crossbow ? :-D I remember a bug where being on the second floor of anywhere and trying to do almost anything would get you broken legs. There were many times I was on a second floor and doing absolutely nothing and got broken legs, I thought it was hackers but I'm starting to think my location fluctuated a little and it snapped my legs. Could be they fixed something that was a problem and ended up bringing that problem back?

Meat Tenderizer does nothing to any sort of animal meat. Didn't get to try human meat. Protector Case, couldn't believe it when I found this. 6 slots instead of 4. I think the point of this and the medical kit is to protect the things inside of them instead of to add space. I just got a hunting backpack in that new garage building that is twin long buildings with a bunch of storage doors facing each other. A couple have cars in them and there are some cars in the space between them. One of those had a hunting backpack inside. The barred building that used to have the locked door and is now unlocked is a great place to find stuff though, like people have said before. I got a smersh vest and backpack combo and a tortilla backpack and ammo and range finder and some pistol mags all on one building doorstep.

So last night I decided to head to Prison Island and get some better clothes. I Drove off the beach to see if they fixed the truck driving there. After 10 or 15 seconds in the water and going completely under, the engine cut out which is a realistic response. I was still able to coast down hill for a bit and I jumped out when the truck stopped and then swam the rest. After grabbing some Gorka Pants and snooping around everywhere else except the tower of broken legs and death, I got ready to head back. I was cold but I was nervous about someone showing up on either side of the crossing, so I just started swimming. I saw the truck on the bottom on the way back and was giggling until I noticed the I am freezing messages. I was orange I'm freezing and I figured I was going to just go unconscious during the swim since I was only half way back. I couldn't bag up my best gear and dump it out there, so I just kept swimming. Somehow I made it to shore, got sticks and made a fireplace and got the it's not safe here to make a fire. I turned on my gas stove and let it get hot and turned it off and put it in my jacket and it went cold instantly. Grumble Grumble, I ran around the hill and tried the fire again and it let me light one. Woof that was a close one. Sorry about wasting a perfectly good truck for science. :-O
