  1. There was a time when i played mgs games dreaming of the ultimate stealth/survival experience and then one day dayz came along and i was in love. I think Dayz is the ultimate stealth experience more so than mgs. But i think dayz is missing some stealth elements that the refined mgs games had and some others that where not in mgs. It would be great if you could hide in a box next to some other box's, or hide in a cupboard or under a bed or table, or climb a tree and jump down on top of someone. In mgs 3 it was possible to disguise yourself as a crocodile, maybe in dayz we could use an animal pelt to disguise ourselves as animals and mimic there movements with animations. It has been said many times, but the ability to mimic a zombie would be great. I cannot wait for base building. I have no intention of building a base, but i want to infiltrate one like snake infiltrated shadow moses, right under the noses of a clan. I want to evade spot lights, cut fences, crawl in air conditioning ducts, use a rope to climb up and over and drop down. I want to grab somebodys throat from behind and put a knife to it, and have them struggle by spamming adadadada. You could take hostages to aid your escape once discovered. I want to use decoy grenades that mimic gun fire, smokes, flash bangs. uhh man it could be such a juicy experience. I cant wait for the gamma exploit to be fixed, we are missing out on night play, i want to appear in the middle of a group of bandits dressed just lke one of there guys and have them be confused for a second while i kill a couple. It would be great if we could cover our character in mud and hug a tree like Arnie in predator. or press against a wall having camoflaged yourself with the right clothing to look invisible. Or maybe having acquired a bag of artists paints you could craft/camoflauge your clothing to a nearby texture you are looking at with your crosshair, the game could sample the texture kind of like snakes adaptive camo from mgs4. If there is any stealth lovers out there and you have any suggestions please add them to the thread.

    Weapon sway

    I really don't like the current sway. I wish it would be removed altogether, but honestly i don't have an alternative suggestion. I think if sway will remain it needs to be almost non existant for light pistols. I feel i can keep something like a glock dead still and have accuracy when i pick up my friends paintball pistol.

    Make crouch key to 1 key only

    I got this idea from the Metal Gear games, (many birds 1 stone) ; tap ctrl when standing = crouch tap ctrl when crouched = stand up hold ctrl when standing = go prone hold ctrl when prone = stand up hold ctrl when crouched = go prone hold ctrl when jogging/running forward = dive in to prone

    W,A,S,D Movement

    To me it feels like dayz and arma character movements have no inertia at all.. There is no gradual acceleration or deceleration of the character, the movement feels very start/stop as if the animation is responsible for the movement. Also i dislike how the wasd direction movement doesn't mix smoothly, and there is a sudden stop or it speeds up at some attempts to transition from forward movement to strafe left/right and back, this is where the "clunk" comes from for me. sometimes the animation is unpredictable depending on what you are walking on it suddenly changes movement speed when you didn't ask it to. Try moving around in a circle on the spot using only wasd, you will see what i mean. Ii find the current dayz movement to be laggy and unpredictable.

    Should 3rd person be removed?

    I dont care for 3rd person, but to have the option is important. To have as many options or settings as possible is always a good thing in a game for me. I just prefer to just play on 1st person servers.

    My only wish is that the new dayz player controller will have physics / inertia for, forward - back - left - right movement like csgo and be responsive and predictable. CSGO handles so intuitivley and gives you a lot of control even in close quarters imo. Yes i know it is a twitch shooter and dayz is a simulator, it isn't the speed that i like about it but more the physics/inertia responsiveness and consistency.     Will w,a,s,d / fblr movement have inertia like cs ? I hope it does because this makes the character very controllable in interiors

    What are you goals and influences for character movement in dayz?. Is there any existing game's that you would use as an example for how you would like the dayz character to handle?

    I hope the new character controller will add inertia acceleration/deceleration to the charcter, like cs or insurgency. Anyone know if that is planned? It would be nice to have varying degrees of inertia based on the weight of your gear. I know some have argued against cs style physics but i dont understand why they object because our movment in real life is subject to inertia also. It doesnt have to be fast movement like arcadey games with the acceleration of a f1 car, it can be realistic and intuitive creating a better connection between the player and character.
