    I have 5 or 6 of them now. Only one is is pristine shape though. The rest are all damaged or badly damaged. Stupid zombies hitting me in the legs...

    Finally! I managed to complete the set. I'm sure I will die any time now as a result, but I will die happy. I've been lusting after this Plate Carrier set for the last two months.

    I just checked the MP5K. "T" doesn't seem to do anything. I put the weapon in my hand and tried it in both the raised and lowered positions.

    A lot of the loot isn't spawning in the right places yet. I just read someone's post yesterday I think talking about how he found an M4 in a barn. IIRC, Eugen mentioned this being addressed in .56. EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong, per Red_Ensign's comment. I just know that only guns are spawning in the appropriate locations currently and that is effecting whether anything is or is not where you might expect to find it.

    I'm kind of an exception in a backward way. I never played the mod, but I'm not whining about the difficulty of the zombies. I think they are fantastic. They behave more like I would expect a zombie with these attributes to behave. All I'd really like to see is twice as many (I still don't feel like they present enough of a threat to dramatically influence player interactions), perhaps a couple of variants (wishful thinking, not likely to happen I'm betting), and for BI to fix the clipping issues zombies have. The loot really isn't that scarce either. Granted, I haven't played it since Friday, but I stayed up all night Thursday and into Friday morning since I had no major obligations the following day and played the crap out of .55. If my tent compounds (yes, plural, I started over and lost another set) hadn't been lost, I'd have something like 7 or 8 different primaries, at least 2 different secondaries, tons of ammo of most calibers, two dry bags full of canned goods, and I don't even really remember what else. I started stockpiling some decent clothing items (jacket, pants, boots, helmet, balaclava) and various necessities like a compass, can opener, etc. in one of the tents for my friend who had just started a new character. This was all while playing on one server, except for about 30 minutes when the server I was on went down and I picked another generic public one to hop on for a few. I basically only hopped back and forth between a couple towns and a few unnamed locations. I will check the MP5K for select fire when I hop on. If no else has answered by then, I will post something about it. I didn't realize that was even a thing in the game.

    Anyone else wondering if the reason tons of loot spawns in outhouses is because the devs want to test player sickness? To put it another way, do you think we increase the likelihood of getting sick by investigating every outhouse we come across?

    I saw two this morning. I got a little annoyed after my tent city was ruined and my buddy got sick, passed out, and died so I decided to start fooling around with my new subscription for 3DS Max. I can't say what it's like right now. Things might have changed again.

    I concur! Although all of my progress was unceremoniously eaten by the black hole of progress, I spent about 6...8....10....hours? Idk? All night basically I ran around gathering tents and gear. I had more weapons and ammo than I could possibly use, two tents full of pumpkins (both in the storage and literally thrown on the floor of the tent), two dry bags full of canned goods, and tons of random other crap. The persistence issues killed my tent city but still, it was fun. Most houses have nothing in them. The ones that do tend to give a greater kick of excitement since there is no way to predict what they will yield. I found a wrecked jeep today with a PM73 RAK, an SKS, an MP5K, a pistol grip MP-133, two pistol flashlights, two weapon flashlights, an AK74 buttstock, and a skull balaclava in it. The game is raining awesome stuff. I found a high cap vest on top of one of the small red civilian cars and an M65 Field Jacket in one of the plywood sheds.

    Seems that way to me too. My tents were fine until the 2nd server restart. That's when I lost them. They survived one restart which is why I thought all was well.

    WARNING! Think carefully before you place a tent. I spent all night building an awesome tent city, partially just to have something to do with the 80 tents I found, and partially because it was sure to cause interesting pandemonium when travelers happened across my creation. After something like 8 hours of running with full bags back and forth from the areas I was looting to my tent city, farming pumpkins and green peppers, and stashing all kinds of cool stuff (loot is so freakin random right now), all my stuff got deleted.

    Cue the crushing despair. For the first time in about 15 days, I have no obligations on a Thursday night into Friday, so I stayed up all night building myself a nice little camp with 3 tents and tons of supplies. I farmed for awhile and stockpiled pumpkins, green peppers, and tomatoes. I had my AK101, Pistol Grip Shotgun, a 2nd MP5K, a bipod, a 3.5x scope, ammo of many calibers, and various miscellaneous items. I lost every single thing. All of my stuff is gone.....10 hours of work. Poof. It's an alpha, I know it, you know it, we all know it. Still sucks though. I've had that AK for weeks now and I was just looking for a mag for it. Never even got to fire it once. Lol. Time to start over I guess.

    The public server I played on tonight restarted about an hour ago. My garden plot did not persist, but my tents and all the stuff contained within them persisted just fine. Maybe the reset is still incoming, but if not, I 'm not sure that they did indeed do a full wipe.

    The tents seem to be fixed and working now. I had one disappear on me yesterday too. Eugene said they were working on it. I guess they fixed it. I started building my own tent city and everything seems to be persisting as it should.

    I found a High Capacity Vest on the roof of a car in some random tiny village. I also have found truckloads of tents and ammo for every gun but the one I'm using. The new zombies are fantastic. They need to fix the fact that the animations don't seem to be closely linked with the "taking damage" screen, but still, welcome change. Tents appear to be stable. I'm building a tent city. Just to confirm: My private hive character had a 75 rnd drum mag. I logged on that server for the first time about two hours ago. The drum mag is gone. Is anyone else not taking damage from zombies? I'm not bleeding, my clothes aren't degrading, none of my items are getting damaged. Every altercation, I get hit 1-3 times and still nothing on public or private servers.

    You can just eat it. At least, that's what I did when a friend and I grew a bunch of them on .54. Still no patch notes so I don't know if it changed into .55.

    I guess I see your point, but I can't pretend like I understand this engine or the reasons why the devs may or may not add or remove something from the game. I'm sure it's deliberate, but they don't really share that much with us with regard to why they do things from what I can tell so I'm left to assume they have a good reason.

    This. This sums up why I don't really offer much feedback. I have absolutely no idea what goals the devs have. Every time I think about offering up a detailed opinion, I get lost in my own ideas and how they may have absolutely no bearing on what the devs plan to do anyway, wasting everyone's time. For example, if the devs plan for food to be really scarce and they want new spawns to commonly die, then what good does me writing 5 paragraphs about how I think the game should be changed to make gameplay a bit easier on new spawns do? None. I feel like the devs need to give us a little bit more insight on what they are are trying to test with each patch, what we should be watching for, what their design goals are, and what they are specifically looking for feedback on. I'm not trying to be harsh or rude btw. I just think the devs are handling us like we are a post release community of customers rather than a set of alpha testers that paid for the privilege.

    I don't think the devs are focused on rewarding anyone atm. The items that currently are or are not in the game may not have anything to do with where they want the game to be, or what they want your experience to be like. It is only a reflection of how far along they are in development. I feel like 90% of the people who post on this forum are literally incapable of understanding that they paid to be alpha testers.
