    I'm not saying this to be mean or rude to the devs, but they don't see our investments of time and energy as it relates to gear as important. When we got the .58 camp lag hot fix my group lost two M4s, tons of ammo, attachments, tents, etc. Eugen had previously stated that we wouldn't get a wipe of persistence, but it turned out that they had to. That part is fine. Things come up. But they didn't post anything letting us know. It sucks. But I try to just let it go. As SMoss recently said, continuity is not guaranteed at this stage.

    Was that after the latest hotfix? They did reset vehicles then, but I think it might have been because the hotfix largely was bug fixes for said vehicles.

    Today's maintenance probably already happened several hours ago. The hive usually goes down around midnight for me and is back up around 4 or 5am. It's 8am for me now. Persistent storage has not been reset by maintenance for a couple patches now. They decoupled storage from whatever process they perform during maintenance or something like that. It was in a Status Report awhile back.

    I have two questions for you: 1) Has there ever been a numbered patch that didn't come with a persistence and/or character wipe? I don't know of any, but I've only been around for nearly a year so I wouldn't be surprised if I just haven't seen it. I'm guessing I must be wrong because I see people ask about it and get pissed right before every patch. 2) Why would they wipe it before .60?

    I watched the PAX Prime and the PAX AUS ones again today to see if it was one of those. I also checked the TwitchCon one. There are a few that say "Gameplay with (Random Person)" where the links are dead now. Not sure if it was one of those. EDIT: https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/215848-dayz-moving-into-2015-roadmap/ So the first roadmap lists dogs and horses under Q4. The revised roadmap is missing Q4 completely, BUT the things from Q4 of the first roadmap are not things being dismissed. For example, Steam Workshop integration is obviously not being scrapped, so I don't think the animal companions being missing from the revised roadmap necessarily means they are being scrapped either.

    Nope. As you can tell based on my post, what I was referencing was an interview with Hicks wherein he directly mentioned horses. It was fairly recent (within the last 6 months). I'm having trouble finding it, but I'm just gonna PM SMoss to put the issue to rest.

    On the roadmap it says "animal companions". The only ones I've ever heard any talk about are dogs and horses. I'm still trying to find the video where Hicks talked about that, but several of the ones from the appropriate time are now dead links in the DevTracker. Maybe something we ask about during the next Q&A he does. Or we can ask SMoss. He might be able to give us a basic confirmation. Either way, it definitely was not idle speculation or rumor. It's been talked about by the devs.

    I'm not really asking when it will be ready exactly. I really just want to know what they actually meant when they wrote the sentence I quoted. I realize it's just a ballpark estimate, but I still can't figure out what they mean. It didn't clarify anything.

    That is absolutely, undeniably wrong. I specifically remember this because of the little bit of background Hicks gave when he confirmed it. He said the CEO of Bohemia Interactive has told them they have to do it. Apparently the guy loves horses. Also, it's on the roadmap.

    From the SR: "Internally we're hoping to have our next .60 update out late next month." This could mean several different things. 1) After talking amongst ourselves, we think we will have .60 pushed to Stable at the end of February. 2) After talking amongst ourselves, we think we will have .60 pushed to Experimental at the end of February. 3) We think we will begin testing .60 internally at the end of February.

    Not 100% sure on the other times, but Emu's death, the last one to happen, was when there were like 7-10 people on the server. This kind of shed has killed us at least twice that I know of.

    Emuthreat just died walking, not running, into a shed. Running might be more likely to make the problem trigger, but it isn't the key. Also, two of us died from this bug while wearing a Hunting Backpack.

    Beware entering any building with an entrance that is not level with the terrain. We've had 6 instances in the group I play with of death from entering or leaving a structure under such circumstances, mostly sheds. I reported it on the Feedback Tracker.

    It's not my job to explain it. I'm not on the dev team and this is just us spitballing on ideas we like. Matter of fact, they don't have to explain it either unless they feel so inclined. We don't have to KNOW anything about the infected. All I'm saying is the argument that it's impossible because it requires magic is silly. This is all fiction.
