The Repeater can be chambered in .308? I have only seen it accept .357.

After hopping on the experimental hive for a couple days, which are mostly untouched at this point, I have found many AK mags. They spawn at cop cars, prison island, and basically any military location. The reason I'm having trouble finding them on the public hive is that nearly everything has been hopped and picked clean. Things are not respawning correctly. It is what it is.

Against my better judgement, I have to ask. Why did you kill him?

We also have another campsite with slightly more on 3PP and overall better stuff.

Biohaze and I jumped on a server, both as fresh spawns, and quickly got on track to meet up. We met on the railroad tracks in Elektro in the pitch black dark. I had a yellow chemlight going so he could clearly see me. As I got within sight of him, I thought I saw a zombie chasing after him. I was wrong. It was another player. I yelled, "RUN! It's not a zombie, it's another player!" We ran separate directions as I unequipped the chemlight and the unknown player equipped a hatchet. My assumption is that he assumed 'chemlight = easy noob kill' because he followed me, rather than Biohaze who was much closer to him. I ran into the police station, shutting the door behind me, and got into a corner, hoping he wasn't following. All I had for a weapon was a garden hoe that I snagged in Kamyshovo, where I spawned, so we could grow some pumpkins. My worst fears realized, I heard the door open. I equipped my farming tool and prepared to get my skull cleaved in two. The guy ran into the room, hatchet raised, and I went completely and totally apeshit. The next thing I know, I'm standing over his dead body, blood spraying everywhere as I continue to smash his still form into pulpy bits, screaming' "FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Aside from the infected, I have never attacked anyone with a melee weapon. I guess I just wasn't sure he was dead. Shaking, feeling guilty for being forced to kill, and angry at the asshole who forced my hand and made me break my hoe, I slowly came around and realized everything was okay, for the moment. It may sound like business as usual to most of you, but I'm not used to this. If we were on a public hive server with my character that has been around since .54, I'm far more likely to snipe the zombie chasing you than I am to hurt you. I don't find myself in these kinds of situations as a general rule. This was one of the most intense experiences I've had as a new spawn thus far.

Thank you so much for that explanation. I was wondering too. It's really refreshing to see devs who are active on their own forums. I've not been a part of many forums, but it has been my experience that devs do not participate and actively respond to the community the way that you guys do. ;)

I think you are being trolled OP. You found the item 5 minutes before the servers went down? You are good, provided the item is in your inventory or a tent. If you had found the item 30 seconds or less before the server shutdown, I'd worry. Otherwise, you are good to go.

This! I started using DSR on my 970 instead of High AA and I lost nothing in framerate but gained a lot in image quality.

I can't find AK mags either. My partner and I have an AK74 and an AKS-74U with about 300 rounds, but still no mags on 1PP. On 3PP, I found an AKS-74U 3 weeks ago and I still haven't found a mag for it.

Yeah, this game can't stress a GPU unless your GPU is so ancient that it shouldn't be used to play any game made in the last 6 years or so. It uses about 50% of mine and probably poorly at that. It's your CPU that gets the shit kicked out of it. I OC'ed my 4690k to 4.5ghz and now my lowest FPS, even in cities is about 35. That said, I've turned down a few things. Then you got spectacularly lucky to find an outhouse full of military gear five feet from an untouched UAZ. I spent a solid 75 hours or so on the patch and the second people figured out where the loot was spawning, you couldn't find an untouched UAZ or front porch of the un-enterable buildings. The server hopping resumed in full force within days after the patch. The police stations were being clearly looted by server hoppers as well. It was obvious because the entire surrounding town would be clearly untouched, full of food and tons of other useful items in nearly every building, but the police station would be full of empty MP5 and RAK mags. At any rate, you present an extreme edge case as if it were somehow normal and evidence of an extreme problem.

Screenshots or it didn't happen. The weapons were spawning exactly where they are supposed to. Everything else was not. Military weapons could have only spawned at military spawn locations and an outhouse is not one of those locations. Your rhetoric serves no one.

I need at least 2 batteries. I have a flashlight for my primary and one for my pistol, but I haven't found a single battery and my character is still alive from 0.54, so no battery from spawn. I haven't had trouble finding anything that I use regularly except for .45 ACP and batteries. Anyone want to trade me a battery or two for something? I have a ton of items, too many to list here easily, but ask me for what you are seeking and I may have it. If I don't, perhaps I can find it. Probably a good idea to get rid of most of this stuff before Wednesday anyway. Please be reasonable though. I haven't hit a single heli crash site this week and if I had an M4, I wouldn't trade it for a battery.

That's a pretty good idea, I suppose. I can take some of my surplus food out there and trade them for the battery they are just going to throw away anyway. Thanks for the tip.

I didn't see a single Mosin until 2 days ago. Since then, I have found 5 of them. I wish that I could find a battery or any .45 ACP ammo.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but there is no way that PC build will play this game, in its current state, at 1080p, all max settings, and decent FPS. I have an i5-4690k and a GTX 970. I OC'ed my CPU to 4.5ghz and my GPU +100mhz Core (1416mhz), +200 Mem (3708mhz) and I cannot maintain 60 FPS. Hell, I can't keep it above 30. In the woods, I get about 90. In small villages and towns, I get around 40-45. In large cities, it fluctuates from briefly hitting 20 up to 35 FPS. In contrast, I run BF4 at 1080p, full Ultra, and my framerate is between 115-150. I haven't found any game yet that wasn't an alpha that I could not crank up all settings at 1080p and maintain 60FPs or better. Basically, what I'm saying here is that the OP needs to have his or her expectations tempered a bit. Once the game gets well optimized, then I'm sure that 290x will do just fine. In the meantime, the OP should not be expecting 60+ FPS on all max settings.

Seems that way to me too. My tents were fine until the 2nd server restart. That's when I lost them. They survived one restart which is why I thought all was well.

WARNING! Think carefully before you place a tent. I spent all night building an awesome tent city, partially just to have something to do with the 80 tents I found, and partially because it was sure to cause interesting pandemonium when travelers happened across my creation. After something like 8 hours of running with full bags back and forth from the areas I was looting to my tent city, farming pumpkins and green peppers, and stashing all kinds of cool stuff (loot is so freakin random right now), all my stuff got deleted.

The public server I played on tonight restarted about an hour ago. My garden plot did not persist, but my tents and all the stuff contained within them persisted just fine. Maybe the reset is still incoming, but if not, I 'm not sure that they did indeed do a full wipe.

The tents seem to be fixed and working now. I had one disappear on me yesterday too. Eugene said they were working on it. I guess they fixed it. I started building my own tent city and everything seems to be persisting as it should.
