Oh, sheet, sorry guys. I never saw that in the change log. That's my bad.

Hello views! I believe that choke holds should be implemented in the standalone. If a player were to sneak up behind a zombie A.I or player he would get an option to "Choke" via scroll menu if he was behind their back. The choke would be a 15 second animation of the player choking somebody out using their arms, also known as a "Choke hold". The victim would go unconscious and wake up in exactly one real life minute. However, the victim can pry the attackers arm off of the victims neck by rapidly moving their mouse left to right for 10 seconds, if they do not shake it fast enough they will still go unconscious. If the victim has a knife or machete in their hands and do a "stab the attacker in the arm" animation, forcing the attacking to let go in intense pain. If the victim is looking at you or sideways, you cannot choke them. You can choke a prone person, and a crouched person, different animations for each, similar to the mocap melee mod for arma 3. Zombies on the other hand will die after you are done choking them, or get knocked down. The attacker, when choking another, will also shake his mouse right to left to make his or her grip stronger, lessining the time for the victim to go unconscious. If the grip on the victim is wimpy the victim can easily walk out of it or pry the attackers arms off of them. So, that's my two cents, what do you guys think?

Well heck man, i'm fine with killing somebody if i have too. Especially those pesky bandits i tend to stumble apon. I usually befriend them and later knock them over the head. Good point anyway bro.

Hey survivors! Sorry for the practical "double post" but i screwed up writing my last one due to being extremely tired after coming back from a very long day of construction. Since i can't delete the post i was kind of forced to make a new one due to the votes already being cast on the old one. I believe that if we find a press vest (This is in future updates) we should be able to spray paint it (if possible) or maybe even dye it (some how) in the new barrel with dye materials. Some nice people on the other topic (Thanks guys!) refreshed my memory on why the press vest was dark blue to light blue. So, it would be unpractical for it to come in black. Concluding i thought that maybe we could be able to dye it or paint it if possible. If this is possible, that would be awesome! Please, do comment your ideas! I love to hear them.

Hello fellow survivors of the standalone! I think that it would be awesome if the press vest could come in black or green! Not too much explaining to do on this idea assuming a lot of you feel the same way. It is very annoying to have an awesome military setup, but to have a blue press vest to screw up your camo, making you easier to spot and get killed. Anyway, I believe a black press vest would make more sense than a dark to light blue one. Please let me know in the poll or comments, maybe even by beans! :D
-
Sorry guys, i didn't realize that i didn't put a no answer for the poll. Also i was very tired when i was extremely (as in passing out while writing this) tired. I didn't mean to put a green option in there i must of done it by mistake. What my intention was is to see if anybody would like to see a black variation of the press vest, or maybe the ability to dye the press vest a different color. Possibly spray paint it if possible. Yet again sorry for the mix up!

Hello fellow survivors! I believe a player should be incapacitated from extreme pain to add to the realism for day-z! For example if i am hit with a sharp object several times in real life, i would not be able to walk that sh!t off. I would be down on the ground in agony barley being able to move. The system would be sort of similar to arma 2's were if you get shot too much and go prone on your back and can't move. A better animation of course, the animation would be similar to a fetal position, maybe even the player would lay on his or her's stomach or back and groan in pain. While incapacitated the player cannot do anything, no not even crawl depending on the pain. They cannot bandage them selves or move at all. This would last untill the player either bleeds out or gets injected with a morphine auto injector and is also bandaged by another player. Pain killers may help a little bit, maybe making the player be able to crawl for a short distance before going unconscious from pain or stop moving. Blunt objects will only cause incapacitation if the victim is struck more than several times on pain sensitive areas, such as the crotch, stomach, shins, and head. Same thing with sharp objects (but fewer hits cause incapacitation from them) Guns will easily incapacitate players with one to 2 shots on survivable areas, such as the shoulder, arms, chest (if you're lucky), and anything besides the head. So yay or nay on this idea? ,

Amen to that. One time it took me over 20 stabs to a person with a hunting knife in dayz just to kill them.
-
And i agree with sister ray, i have gotten very pissed off after hitting a bandit with an axe 4 or 5 just for him to run away, bandage, and shoot me. With him not very affected by the huge fking wounds in his chest by a splitting axe.
-
Thanks for reminding me, I forgot to add the factor of the player's healthiness. If you are completely healthy when you are attacked you will be much harder to incapacitate because of your adrenaline level will be high. But if you are already f###ed up you will be easily incapacitatable and your adrenaline would not help you a lot.
-
Well, how about depending how many times you were hit you may be able to heal yourself? But if you were really f***ed up you can barley move at all. And i liked the limping idea one of you guys have.
-
Love your guy's ideas.
-
Thanks for the reply, feel free to add to the idea or change anything.
-
Sorry for the lazy grammar and wording, i am very tired.
-
And i'm not talking about adding this now (sorry i should have mentioned that earlier) i'm talking about adding this in when the game's engine is smooth enough and desync is not terrible so it would be fair and not glitchy.
-
I agree with both of you, i'm sure there would be some way to fix any kind of exploiting of it. Maybe if your getting shot at or swung at you cannot do it, if the person has saw you in first person or third person within a 2 minute time span you will not be able to preform a take down.I agree on the lock on thing, but there is really no other way they could possibly go about adding it. The only way i thought of countering the annoying lock on thing is for the attacker actually having to put work into it by shaking his mouse rapidly, or else his character would let go.

Shirt: Olive Tactical Shirt, Because it is water proof, hard to see in green areas, and will keep your character warm. Pants: I usually go for the green cargo pants or ttsko pants for storage and camo reasons. Mask: Green or black balaclava, the gas mask works too. Helmet: Gorka helmet with visor or a green ballastic helmet is preferable, since both seem to be able to absorb a lot of shock damage. Vest: The plate carrier,Ballastic Vest, or dark blue press vest is preferable, (A small tip, put a protective case in your press vest so you have even more protection from a critical hit.) Shoes: Black military boots, combat boots, jungle boots are best for protection. Gloves: Any will do. Backpack: Hunting backpack, any other military grade backpacks are great. Feel free to add to my list!

A possible best protective character loadout?

Snap, sorry guys, the text got messed up in the editor. -
Hello viewer! I believe gas mask filters should be implemented to Day-z Standalone. Along with gas mask filters is gas grenades. As in gas i mean police grade tear gas canisters. Gas grenades will spawn in Police departments and Military outposts. The effects of tear gas would be as stated: Intense blurring of the victim's screen, Victim will have difficulty breathing (So it would be hard for them to run for a long period of time), the victim (if staying in the gas cloud like an idiot) will cough over and over again giving away their position and alerting nearby zombies, If the player stays in the gas for longer than 2 minutes he or she has a 50% chance of going unconscious from lack of oxygen and dying if they do not wake up in time to get out of the cloud, last but not least, the player may start to vomit from a lot of tear gas exposure. (Yes, that does happen in real life.) The tear gas cloud will only stay present for 5 in game minutes or so before dissipating and leaving the air. The gas will have little to no effect on zombies. Tear gas will also be rare sort of like the flash bang. To prevent the effects of tear gas, the player can take off his shirt and have an option to cover up his face with the shirt via scroll menu. The shirt mask will not completely prevent the effects of tear gas. It will only make you cough less and decrease the screen blur by 20 percent, and add about 30 seconds to you being able to stay in the gas cloud without going unconscious. The Gas mask on the other hand will completely prevent the effects of the gas if the mask has the 2 cheek filters it needs. Pristine Filters would be 100% effective, Worm would be the same, Damaged Would be 60 percent effective, Badly damaged would be 20 percent effective, and ruined of course, would not work at all. Filters will be found at police and military outposts. To attach the filter to the gas mask you must drag the filters to the gas mask and select "Add filter to Gas mask" via inventory. Last thing, i would like Gas masks to start spawning in Police departments rarely, along with tear gas. I hope you guys enjoy my idea! I would love any feed back about my idea, and please add to the idea if you have anything in mind! :D

Tear gas grenades, and gas mask spawning, also filters.

By the way i'm kind of tired right now, so i'm sorry in advance for any grammatical mistakes or lazy looking writing. -
I believe a taser gun should be implemented in the standalone. Their spawn areas could be Police Stations and Military outpost. They would take taser cartridges as ammunition. The effects on the victim would be instant knock down, maybe with screen overlay effect, the shot player would be downed for about fifteen to twenty seconds. While the player is incapacitated they can be looted, handcuffed, and all those other things. Do you gents and gals like this idea?
-
Aw thanks, have some beans as well!

Hello views, I think that the ability to drag unconscious players, or even carry them should be implemented. The system would be like the Arma 2 dragging and carrying players mechanic. I believe this would be helpful if you're in a firefight and your friend is on your team and he gets shot in a certain part and gets knocked unconscious you can drag him out of enemy's line of sight.

Hello, I believe that it would be cool if Day-z Standalone had a Hiding system similar to the Outlast hiding mechanic, For example, if you are near a bed or closet ect, you can have an option to hide under or inside of the object. This is so you can hide from zombies inside buildings easier, and other players. Here is an example on Youtube.
