Cutting a body should take longer depends on which knife you used

More emphasis should be placed on knives. In my opinion, devs should make it so that you cannot cut the human bodies and the animals with some types of knives such as bone knife steak knife, kitchen knife etc... or at least make the animation longer, 5 or more minutes, and for machete, kukri, combat knive, hunting knife, 2-3 minutes or something like that. Cutting a body shouldn't be a norm and an easy way to get additional stone knives and cooking tools. Seeing piles of human stakes, makes a gameplay a bit to mach unimmersive, at least for me. Thoughts? -

Wouldn't be cool that after each update devs gives us some in-game riddles or mysteries to solve and it doesn't need to be big such as Livonia bunkers or some big project. Could be something simple such as special sound effect(s) that tell us something or gives some clues what to do next to solve the riddle. Notes of dead people (civilians, military, journalists, etc.) in unusual places, where important information is written, such as the location of hidden treasure, important or emotional messages, disputes, confidential documents, numbers that open doors that are otherwise inaccessible. Or some puzzle that can only be solved if you are in a certain place at a certain time or where it is necessary for two or more people to do something at the same time in different places at a certain time. For example, a specific Morse code could be broadcast over radio frequencies that would communicate an important location that leads to hidden documents or to a key that opens a drawer with classified documents. Or a puzzle that requires one survivor to make a sacrifice to make something happen. Or an special ingame map that can be found anywhere on the map on which is marked a location where there is something that can be found such as loot drop or it's just a trap (landmine, tripwire, anything really) A million scenarios and puzzles can be done this way, and I don't think it's necessary to invest a lot of work and it doesn't need to be complicated. Just that there is something new, something that would add a new charm to the new upcomings updates, something that the whole community can group togheter and and discove/solve things. And with each new update, the puzzle would be solved. This would keep the old maps (Chernarus, Livonia) always fresh for new explorations and adventures. What is your opinion on it and what additional ideas do you have? Huge inspiration I get from this video and from GTA V mystery As I said, it doesn't need to be complicated, notes would be enough, with written information that would tell a story or lead to a certain place, or some sound/light effect that would be triggered in a certain place at a certain time if two or more people shot at the same time or something similiar. And after each update there is a new mystery made by devs that can give players an opportunity to solve it. It would be up to each individual whether they want to participate and hunt these mysteries and puzzles. Nothing would be forced or imposed on the players. But I think these kinds of puzzles would add a new glow to the game, especially once you're fully equipped and don't know what else to do except kill others.

Or at least decent. I really don't care so much about graphic aspect of the game (interiors and such) but more about the gameplay itself. For me, working vehicles and zombie hordes would make a game 10/10. And for you?

Great update. Love it. Thanks devs. I see there is some new sound effects. If I can, I would also like to hear the following sounds effects: SFX for using water pump SFX for burning heli crashes - once the chopper is on the ground in flames (option 1) (option 2) SFX for breaking sticks (can be the same sound effect as for breaking the glow). (alternative option) SFX for sharpening tools SFX for stone pounding (combing two stones animation) SFX for opening backpack inventory or any conteinar that have zipper's SFX for peeling patato SFX for opening jars (honey, Strawberry Jam) SFX for wringing wet clothes Ccan you also extend time of cutting people up? Cutting people shouldn't be so quick and easy in my opinion and not so common. Same goes for sewing things. Sewing clothes and armors during fights is kinda lame. Animation should be longer. And using duct tape for repairing clothes and shoes is weird in my opinion. Or at least make it like you cannot get repair clothes and shoes in worn state.

Hey I just came up with an idea. What if there was a place where you can have an access to all Security cameras around the map in some kind of Control Center that could be located in Livonia Bunker or in Tisy (Chernarus)? CCTV cameras could be placed around all major cities/towns and military areas but in order to CCTV cameras work you need to activate them in Control Center via some batteries, military key cards or some other way. Also this CCTV cameras could be destroyed by shooting into them and can be "fixed" after server restart or some other way around. I think this would give players another layer of "purpose" in the game. Yay or nay? Thoughts? 4 ways to make Dayz fresh and replayable - In summary: Make some: Premade photos Premade cassettes/tapes Premade notes Secret maps and all these things above gets replaced with each update or each month or two and all this things are created by community. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now let's get more in detail: 1.) Premade photos Each map would have 5-10 photos (as a new item) which you could find anywhere on the map by loothing houses, which will hinted at the location for some secret stuff. It could be a different types of supplies eg. car parts, foods, water, ammo, guns, tents, clothing supplies, tools, buried stashes any kind of supplies or it could be just a trap (mines, bear traps etc...) or it could lead you to some new "premade notes" or "premade cassettes/tapes" which I will talk next. Premade cassettes/tapes Each map would also have 5-10 premade cassettes (as a new item) which you could find anywhere on the map by loothing houses. For tape to be play, survivors must have a radio. Anything could be on the tapes eg. songs, scary/happy stories, quotes, riddles, or some secret informations (such as location information, reports from soldiers, journalist etc.) that leads to some photos or some new loot or that lead to some traps that can kill you. Premade notes The premade notes would function in the same way and have the same meaning as the tapes except that they would be in written form rather than in audio form. What if devs would put like 2 to 3 secret maps in-game which will show you some secret location marked by "X" once you open it. Same as notes and tapes, this maps could lead you to some goodies or to some traps. Imagine all youtubers trying to find out all this secret locations and riddles before a new update. A community will work togheter to find those secrets. Thoughts?

How the hell guys do you stay alive for 5 freaking months? I can get geared super easy, but surviving for so long...pffff no chance. I always play full servers (60 and up players).

Spawn points needs to be move more north. Right now, you almost start in the middle of the map which gives you almost a zero reason to go north which only makes map like half playable.

Spolier and suggestion (about Livonia bunkers): Also imagine if Livonia bunkers would lead us straight to the Chernarus map and vice versa. Also make radio unusable when in the bunker. You know, no signal and such things 😏 M1ndr was stucked in the bunker and he was trying to get help from outside from random survivors through radio which should not be possible.

Driving a car without doors (or with open doors) should make you cold. Like really cold. And vehicles without tires is just stupid. Vehicles should be ready to drive. Maybe make it like, tyres and other parts are badly damaged or randomly damaged. We wait for cars for so long and least we could get the cars with all the parts which is more realistic than what we have now. Make electronic repair kit, tire repair kit and other tools/items more valuable like that. Also make gas less available Badly damage food, badly damage sewing kit and cleaning kit should have small amount of use. Edit: I had some issues with changing items in my hand (when I was bleeding from wolves). I solve the problem with F5 gesture. I've been capitulated twice while trying to stealth kill zombies. Result was broken leg. Closing in-game map activates UI. (Hotbars and character status symbols) Edit 2: So far, very excited with the new update. Great job but it's not done yet. Edit 3: Also can you also add this feature. Yea Asmondian is legend with those suggestions and infographics. I wish devs would at least reply to such things so that we know they are awere of this suggestions.

For the devs, if you read this. Nice roadmap, hope you guys can achive this. I would like to see one more thing. Improvments on zombies. Does not have to be something special or fancy, but what I would like to see is that zombies would be able to open doors so that is harder for us to fight them/escape from them. It doesn't have to be an animation for knocking down doors, just simple 3 to 4 zobmie's hand hits on doors or 10-15 hand hits on locked doors would be enough to open it.

Can you guys make an option to carry Campfire Tripod on your shoulders or as an attachment to backpack? Otherwise this item is kind of useless because of it size. Also can you make an option to stack certain items such as improvised hooks, notes etc... (small items).

Our character can make so much emotes and so many of them are really cool and useful to use such as "point", "hi", "silent", "move" etc., but is really hard to execute those emotes when in a rush or in tricky situation so I came up with an idea to use voice command to activate those emotes that are available in the game. I am talking about this emotes: So what if we activate this emotes through our voice. Let's go like that. When you say "point" your character makes a point emotes. When you say "Silent" or "Clap" your character would start Clapping or he will make a silent emote. Make a saparete button for this voice commands in a such a way others players around us cannot hear us. So different button for using in game voice (VoIP) and voice commands (for emotes) so the voices does not collade with each others if that makes sanse. Thoughts?

Agree. KarmaKrew server (modded server) makes car drivable at the spot, with all the parts and it just great and it makes sanse.

Thats the point. To not skip cars just because they are "undrivable".

Oh and also for a million times. Melee weapons such as machete, pick axe, fire axe, shovel, garden house...should not be placed/attached on our back as a weapons. And things in our backpacks should not be so easily reached. To reached items in our backpack we need to first open our backpack (put it on the ground, make a opening-zip sound effect). This way it's way more important which things do you put on your backpacks and which to your pants/t-shirts. Guns and knives would makes sanse to not have it in a backpack so that you can reach those items immediately.

@Asmondian Still reading, I am at the number 28. So far, so good. Nice suggestions. I think you are like me. Playing Dayz without any HUD to maximize immersion. And thats why I like those suggestion. I will continue reading this, but I will just throw this one suggestion so that I don't forget later. When you entering a vehicle with backpack on your shoulder, make a backpack visualy "disapear" once you are in the car. Same goes for guns. Clipping backpacks through seats and clipping guns over car's roofs is quite annoying to see. In real life you would either put backpack and a rifle in the truck or you would put stuff somewhere on the ground of the car (behind the seat or something like that.) Devs, please listen to Asmondian suggestions. With his QoL suggestion and infographics he gave a lot of value to the community and because of that he should be heared. Thanks. Edit: One more suggestion. Being able to drag players. Or lift them up on your shoulder if they are wounded. Edit2: #33 Hell yeaaaaaaa! Edit3: One more suggestion. Small items, such as worms, fishing hooks, batteries, notes, flare ammo we should be able to stack them as 1x1 space item. Just like any ammo that you can stack, but lets make some limitation. Lets say you can combine max 3 batteries and 3 flares ammo etc... Edit4: Please continue I would like to hear that 🙂 Edit5: One more suggestion. Being able to steer Vehicles with mouse to have more smoother turning's. Edit6: #42. Devs...just do it. Edit7: Also add some new sound effects. For water pumps, for breaking long sticks and breaking bushes with hand, for ripping cloths and much more. Also there is no sound effect for filling a cooking pot with water (could be the same when you fill water in the pond with water bottle). Edit8: Also don't forget about this.

Great topic. May I add one thing? I might be wrong, but in my opinion Dayz needs two things, which would make a game quite different but in my opinion much more interesting when you are geared and once you found for yourself enough food and water. Those two things are: 1.) Possibility to create clans/group in the game. 2.) Possibility of occupying the territory Let me explain this more in detail. The thing is, in real apocalypse scenerio, you, without help of others, would struggle. Either mentally (you would feel alone) or physically (no backup in fights, no overwatch etc...). So sooner or later you would need someone and look for some companionship. You would look for other people. Thats why I suggest possibility to create clans in game. There has to be a reason to approach someone. Either to create a friendly or bandit group. And this friendship should store somewhere on the server. Should be saved. There should be a list of clans existing on the servers. You should be able to know if this friend that you partner with yestarday is online today. Or something similiar. The second thing, there has to be some bigger purpose. One of this purpose could be to claim as much territories as you can as a group. I suggested that quite long ago if you are intrested. Here: Let me know what you thing about this? The possibility of occupying the territory makes sanse for me because people in real life also strive for power. Power over others, money power, control power, territory/land power. In apocalypse people would look for as much ammo and weapons, vehicles to have (material power) and to have as much areas as possible (land power). The reason I love Dayz is because this is basically the game of two different mindsets. Evil mindset (kill everyone, gain power over others), or Hero mindset (friendly, help each others...). The problem Dayz and Dayz community has is that Evil mindset prevails. And the reason that Evil mindset prevails is because the game machanic reward such behaviour much more then Hero mindset. For example, with killing someone you can gain much more than helping someone. And also, with what you can help someone that that person could not do it by himself? However, either you have an Evil mindset or Hero mindset, I think, the best way to enjoy this game is to do things with other people. What do you I mean by that? For example, if you choose to have an Evil mindset, try to find a person or group of people to have similiar mindset and try to do things togheter. Like robbing people togheter, killing togheter, intimidate people together or whatever. If you have Hero mindset, try to find friendly person or friendly group/community. Try to build something togheter. For example, try to make a trading spot/safe zone, try to base build togheter, try to open a fishing store, shoe store, car shop, Tool shop or anything like that. Whatever you choose, try to do it with others. Like that, you will enjoy more. PS: Sorry for any grammer mistakes. My English is not my first language.
