    DayZ poem

This poem inspired me to write one myself It's a spoken word piece in original, so the meaning may not come through as if performed. Called My springtime songbirds. As fast as we could, flying, across the fields of Chernarus, my springtime songbird and I were hauling. A car taken from beneath the nose of some stranger. We were free and alive at that time. This moment eternal. The engine roars, and suddenly it ends. Alpha, the wind wispers softly, and it all turns black. But it's not the end, It's not, or so i have been told. The waves are crashing all around me. A new life, a new town, far from the friends i made. My springtime songbird and I will meet again. How lucky I am, how lucky we are, to see the world anew In brand new shoes, no longer worn from walking. It is mere folly, to hold on to that wich can be taken. It is mere folly, to hold on to that wich is lost. and I say, I dare say today, that those who do. Have no place... in alpha.... at all..

What new items do you want to see In the near(ish) future?

oh baby oh baby. there are a TON of items i would LOVE in this game. just that most of them are dumb.. like.. invade russia sort of dumb. 1. Umbrella, this ultimate gentlemans weapon and also practical tool for when you just can't seem to find a raincoat would make my day. 2. Tarp, catch all that rain for your belly, or make a nice tent for yourself, comes in green, black or brown. 3. Fire drill, butcher some shoes for the lacing, and you are now the god of fire. 4. Thermos, keep that soup warm for when you are dying of hypothermia. 5. Notebook, more than a single page to write down the story of your spawn. 6. Russian style fur hat. because imaginary post soviet republic. 7. Whistle, for long distance signaling, or sweet raves. 8. Asthma medication, because lets face it, we all need it real bad. 9. Wristwatch. to get that swagger on with the ladies. 10. Unique sailor shirt only found at Rify, I'd be donald ducking all over chernarus. 11. Summertime clothing, namely, sandals (with socks in them) short-shorts and hawaii-shirts. 12. Assless chaps, pants for your pants, protects you from the z, and also matches the riders jacket. those are atleast a couple of things.

    Cant find any mosins?

For me, mosin spawns are all over the place, but the most common ones have so far been: 1. O'l grandmas house, small yellow/blue on one side, brown on the other, one room. granny didn't F around. 2. Blue trailers parked here and there, SKS and mosins now and then. 3. Red brick house with the vaulted doors, up the useless stairs I've found both Blaze and Mosin. Don't forget to check the brick pubs and Sofa-houses for compensators and LRS.
  4. Having been gunned down, unconscious, woken up, gunned down, again, woken up a second time, and killed the guy. (once, then I died) I never respawn myself when I go unconscious. It does seem like a habit of most people, wich is a bit sad. Personally, I'd rather gun somebody down, apply bandage, tape them up, take some of their stuff, leave them with some extra peaches to regain energy and a note saying thanks for the fight, and then clear the f out of there. I would like a timer of about 5 minutes until you can respawn, since the button basically makes it so that when you go down, you just give up. I can understand that some players might take the game a little bit more personally than I do, and become proper irked at the thought of being kidnapped, beaten, forced to eat rotten fruit etc. or simply they want to go down the BF road and respawn to get back to it. But the parts of the game being missed because of the respawn mashing is (to me atleast) grounds for a timer. a short list. 1; that glorious comeback, when you alive, they don't think it be like it is.. but it DO. 2; that player interaction. 3; that non-BF feel 4; patience, you will learn it.
  5. Last night, on the Headless zombies server, my girlfriend and i decided that a 5 person server was well and low enough to take a trip out to the prison island, hoping for a merry old time of looting through peoples leftovers, (non-per, ~3hrs in) we had a good time, finding some ak's, attaching my previously found acoc to an mp5, and generally having a good time, up until the point where we realized that we were too cold to swim back, and neither of us had matches.. The solution was as simple as it was obvious, and a little bit stupid, she got to run around in a circle inside the warehouse, while i went on the search for matches. after checking the short barracks, (the dayz equivalent of the short bus) finding nothing i headed up to the camo-prison and started looking. A few moments later i hear a "F**K! are you wearing a gorka helmet?!", (i wasn't) and after that, things started to go terribly wrong. Seemingly out of nowhere a nice young man comes barging in through the prison doors, i drop him with a couple of well placed rounds (eg. 10+ shots going wherever the gun was pointing at the time) and soon after that my girl shows up, we loot the guy for whatever he has that isn't ruined, (eg. his helmet and gun wrap) when we start hearing voices, we exchanged expletives and barricaded ourselves in the prison. As it turns out, there were atleast two other people on the island apart from us, and the shot-to-s**t corpse in the hallway, what followed were an exchanging of words ive never heard before. it started off with me claiming that "it doesn't have to go down like this" only met by manic laughter from the other end.. I realized that it DID have to go down like this. As we sat there, talking and taunting eachother, (a lot of it too vulgar and rude to be put on the forums) i sort of realized something, These guys were not climbing through the walls, they didnt have full military gear with supressed m4s, no teleporting.. these were just a couple of dudes with guns, holding up two other people with guns.. However, my patience grew thin, and after a bit of preparation i rushed out, made a sharp left into a bush, and between the leaves i saw something red, a drybag, i used my expert marksmans skills (eg. hold LMB and pray) i know i hit him, and over the loud "noooooooooo!" from the other guys voice i heard two sharp bangs, "you are unconcious"... "It's alright, it's alright i killed him".. i wake up, my legs are broken, my heart is pounding and i empty whats left of my gun into him as he pulls out an axe and smacks me dead in the face.. I die, but the girlfriend is still alive, she gets in an ambush position on the upper floor and waits.. silence, after a while she hears a mosin go off outside, and as she looks out, there is the guy with the red pack, dead. she makes a break for it and later we meet up just outside of Balota. The whole point of this post (wich i made my account to post) is to say thank you to the guys that killed me, for making me feel a bit of fear, anger, panic and excitement. and i hope that we meet again, and that we have the upper hand in our next encounter. //Spoons
