Did I do something wrong? Sniping in the Airfield

It all depends on your playstyle, some people take it easy with gunfire, others KoS to their hearts desire.. In this case, you took a shot, and felt that it was uncalled for. And it's good to question your own judgement from time to time. My playstyle is mostly one of caution. I generally don't shoot people that aren't a direct threat, but I've gotten gunned down from time to time just for being there. But, if you want to, try to stash your gear away safely, and just go out and talk to people, It can be great (most of the time it's just awkward and weird) but from time to time you run into good people and have more fun playing because they are funny guys, or, you have a good time because you're paranoid. I do, as always, recommend trying all sorts of playstyles, just to have variation, and for me, it's just as scary to talk to a MFer as it is to go rambo on him. another thing is to watch people, preferrably through a scope, and count how many times he could have been dead.. The interesting bit is that at some point, you realize that behind those running pixels, there is a player. And that player could be just some douche, or a future friend (on steam)

    Tents and Vehicles Wiped

I do believe it is because of this: "Lastly - as development with 0.57 wraps up, the current iteration of the Central Loot Economy will have loot persistence (the saving of spawned and dropped loot, as well as tents) disabled - while the programming team resolves the blocking issues with item cleanup" - Hicks So until they fix the CLE, and have a firm grasp of what is causing the issues, the Persistence, Spawning, Inventory, and so forth will be, as one would say, "fucky" I for one have taken a short stint of not playing a whole lot the last couple of weeks, since my regular server has a weird thing where some things are persistent, like a tent in the middle of Severograd that has been sitting there since day 3 or something. While things seem not to spawn properly. Hope it answers your question, regards //Spoons

Revert the ammo can back to 8 squares for ammo

I'm guessing a temp fix, while they set up the new inventory system, because as far as I can tell, you may still stack items in others, and type-restriction isn't implemented into the inventory yet. Back in 0.whenever, med kits held only medical supplies, ammo boxes only ammo, and cooking pots only food, this kept them from being exploited, but with stacking, an ammo box could potentially hold a infinite number of other boxes that increase exponetially, so. as it stands now, deal. also, this solution is pretty good compared to removing them from the game until the system is properly configured. and why complain about extra protection? people try to murder you every time you play, I've survived getting shot with a mosin close range almost without damage, because of protector cases.
  4. according to devs, Z stands for zero, "the start of your story" blah blah.. zombies are WIP, and have gotten a lot better since the start. and to OP, I've gone Mike Tyson, Babe ruth, Cherpa Tensing Norgay, Paul Bunyan, Farmer Joe, Bob the builder, MC Hammer, super Mario, Machete, Gordon Freeman, King arthur and Wayne Gretzky on zombies. And i have ONCE been knocked out, because I was starving. The zeds are supposed to make you want to sneak and/or run away... And on top of that, there are zombies in ex. the walking dead. But it makes for a real shit-show if they are the main antagonists in the series. edit: also, yes, the Z need a LOT of work. but IMO, they need to get a lot harder.

    Status Report - 27 May 15

I would absolutely LOVE this, I tend not to delve to deeply into speculations about what is up with what, but getting a line or two that tells me, even if it is in such technical terms that i have to google it, what is happening with the implementation of systems and the testing phase, would me magnificent. since I tend to read status reports like somebody is telling me something, i know a couple of things. - zombies are borked, so they aren't in experimental, nor will they be in stable. - CLE is not as it should, so stable will be per-off as of 0.57 If the status report (or a feedback-tracker implemented tech-report) would tell me that "zombies are borked because of x, or CLE is down because y done effed z up" I would be SO happy. also i love the game, don't ever change, keep on shining, give eugen and yourself a pat on the back for the constant late nights, and holla at ya boy if you need snus mailed to you #bribery

Why did you buy this game?

Well, it all started out in the early days of the mod. That I heard about from my cousin. We played that for just a while, but the sneaking into a village on your belly, zombies walking around. it was the bees knees. But what got me hooked was running north of Stary, and getting shot. just like that.. dead. I played the mod quite a bit, but then i took a break from gaming all together, until i heard that the Dayz SA was around the corner. And i just had to check it out. Thats why. (right now i play Dayz just to see where it goes, if it will be great, or just ok. But 600+ hours later, when it's good. it's great)

    Persistence wipe for 0.56

I'm thinking that the total number of specific items, for example, an ak-74 on a server, if it is set to a standard number of ex 6, and all of them are in a single barrack, the server won't spawn any new items in the other barracks until it has been picked up from there. or am I wrong?

    Persistence wipe for 0.56

I was thinking, If the 0.56 is implemented on the stable branch, and the central loot economy starts to do its thing. On the servers with the crazy loot bombs in military bases, kiosks and sheds, will the items in those places persist until monkeyd with and put a stopper in the loot balancing itself out? stopping the loot from distributing in a consistent way across the entire map? So i decided to make a poll. how do you, fellow alphertesters see the chance of having the entire thing reset, to get actual data from the loot economy? (fully aware that the poll won't change devs minds about what to do, or how to implement the stuff.)

Couple Of Protective Suits Id Like To See In Game

I'd say giving some sort of hazmat suit in military installations a la Outbreak, (yes, I'm that generation) would probably be alright. You'd probably overheat, be clumsy and not be at all stealthy, but it would add an element to the game where it would at least seem like the military was working on it before it got out of hand, much in the flavor of the corpse filled hole in the northern military base. No advantages what so ever, apart from protection from the rain. Just flavor.

What's the fascination with having pristine clothes?

I like the pristine stuff because it looks better. That being said, whenever i find shoes (especially boots) that are pristine, i always change shoes. because, new shoes. even if mine are pristine too. but i tend to always wear civilian clothes, hardly ever military stuff. because, it suits the look I'm going for. So for me, it's the RP aspect, if I was out in the post apoc of chernarus, I'd grab any nice clothes i could find. because there aren't that many left.

    Your Camp/Stash

Well, the missus and I had some stuff stashed away before the reset, together with a couple of other guys. At this point we have nothing, but the last one had loads of stuff. of wich we had a private tent, with the following: A blaze, because that's what i use. + some ammo Medical supplies, so we always had that. seeds. hoe and shovel waterbottles. one of each colored dress shirt. some food a pair of beige firefighter pants. and that was it. we never really saved guns, but we'd rather just do dumb things like drop a AKM with 4x30rnd mags in the street close to the coast. hoping somebody would find it and be like "yaay" and then I'd pick up for a shotgun with 7 shells to it. because, why not.. For me the camp is a place to store things i can rely on, and things i want to try to save. like a smersh-pack, in case i happen to murder somebody later on for their smersh-vest. not really to keep guns, because frankly, I don't care that much for them. blaze is the only one I really love. and it is... not that good for killing players.
  12. The way i read it was "it worked nice in testing, but it crapped out when subjected to ALL of you, so now we're taking it back in house. Fixing it up, and sending it back out, persistence will still be forced in all servers, but it will be the old persistence system." I'm happy that this part of testing is done with, mainly because I've had enough of hats. (had my friends shoot me dead in order to change character, and then died two more times because i wanted to see if elektro/cherno was really empty, (it was) but after that, I managed to get back inland and all is well again, but there sure is a lot of hats out there)

    Where do I find stones?

some of the smaller lakes and such scattered about the map, and also some yards are okay for picking stones, otherwise, it's the other two options.

    persistent tens + wallhackers

I think that the point is that you should never feel safe. If you find some stuff, you must always risk losing it. If you put up your tent in a bad place, somebody might stumble across it and take your shit. It is a two way street too, if you managed to sneak into somebodys base, tent or something. and then you get the message "no way bro, it's locked, you can't steal their stuff" it would suck. but thats like, my opinion.
