Well there are plenty frustrating ways to die I guess, but there are two I remember very, very well. The first occasion is similar to the scene the OP painted. Whilst looking out over Elektro, after having cleared the entire area, I notice a player spawning in in front of me, too late I notice that he had two friends who already spawned in right behind me. You can guess what happened next. The second most frustrating way was due to desync I guess. I end up toe to toe with someone who I had hit a couple times already. Both of us carrying AK's. My clip emptied in him, or at least I think it was in him, cause a second after my clip is emptied he kills me.

Good job taking down them bandits! Tactics in the last part were sound, just unlucky there were two of them.

Anyone who has the time to go out there and pitch their tents of the edges of the map DESERVES to have their stash looted.

And on the subject of new character upon spawning in... You probably play on different (private) servers. Public servers use the same hive and thus you can have 2 different characters on public server, 1 for 3rd person view and 1 for 1st person view. The private servers use private hives so you will have a different character on each of the private servers. Hopefully I explained it well enough to make sense. ;)

I reckon you handled that situation quite well! But what do you find more important? ;)

I do think it is the case. But the whole food/water/energy system needs a lot of tweaking. I presume it is nowhere near what they want it to be. Cause how can my character eat over a dozen apples, or a couple cans of food and still be hungry? How can my character drink over 2 liters of water only to be thirsty again after a 15 minute jog? At the moment you basically need constant acces to food and water to keep your character alive.

What I see from recordings, player responses and my own experiences so far is that it all seems completely random. It possibly has a lot to do with desync as well. I have had multiple vests, pants, jackets and hats plus all contents ruined from anywhere between 1 and 10 hits. Have taken multiple punches from zombies without taking any damage to myself or my equipment and have been taken down by a civilian zombie in 1 hit whilst being completely energized, hydrated and healthy. *shrug* I'm not saying it's all bad, but it ain't good either!

I reckon the next step is to have either wings or a parachute on trucks. That was a great ride you had there! Beans for your truck!

I had a completely different experience just yesterday. While I was drinking at a pond, 2 guys surprised me completely. The first had ran by me without seeing me but the second guy did see me. The second took a shot at me with his shotgun while my drink animation (cancel action) was finishing. He hit me and I reckon he ruined my raincoat including contents. As soon as I could I armed my mosin and took a shot at the guy with the shotgun. The first shot hit and killed him. The distance between us was about 5-10 meters. After my friend and I finished off the second guy we took a look at their corpses. The guy I had hit with 1 mosin round had pretty much all his gear ruined. This could of course mean that he had his gear ruined prior to running into me, but I doubt that. It would make more sense that his bloodlevel wasn't completely up to par.
