I was playing last night and I swear there were more zeds around..... In Berezino and I got attacked by 3 then another 3 right away came charging round a corner I dealt with them then came across a group of five more milling around in a group just on the other side of a wall... (I then got KOS) Anyone know if the devs have sneaked a little update in? Felt like there were more on all of the 3 servers I played on last night? I was chased by 4 at one point all round Elektro.. I didnt go inland last night so it was just along the coast. -

What do I want? 1) less kos 2) no teamspeak/skype etc 3) more RP 4) less loot 5) less military stuff 6) more players on a map I'd settle for zeds that can't walk through walls.... -

I meet people every time I play but as others have said it depends how and where you play.. The southern Coastal towns always have loads of people around. Many times there are big groups as well.. In land you will never see another soul. Novo normally has a few people around but I've always been Kos'd there! -

Yeah but surely same principle? I used to practice hip shooting on trees utill I was sure where the bullets land. I understand the bullet mechanics are probhably more complex in dayz but I'm sure a very good sniper with a good amount of hours with a mosin will be a good shot from the hip?

This is not strictly true. I play Darkest Hour 44-45 (RO 1... From way back) I have over 1000hrs on this game and often rock the sniper. Close quarters in a building if you get caught a no scoped Kar98 is very good weapon. The problem with dayz is that stupid dot which makes hip shooting very hard as it distracts your aim. I've lost count of the amount of time someone unloads a BAR on me and misses then gets a hip shot to the face ;)

Got ambushed by a guy with a spotter while I was eating some peaches. Took 4 shots to kill me while I fumbled with the mouse to try and cancel action and get my mosin out! I hope he drinks the plastic bottle full of petrol I had in my pack ;)

Longhorn is a great gun. A good civilian load out for me is Longhorn for long shots, repeater for mid distance and sawn off shotgun for close range + maybe magnum as its good close in and shares same ammo as repeater.

I suppose the thing is I only really play private hives that are the full 50 pop logging on if I can get a space... I have 2 or 3 I play on. So I almost never find sks ammo anywhere (the actual guns are everywhere) apart from military sites... sometimes find loose rounds in other places but not often. Sometimes it hard to find a can of beans on those servers! But I prefer to play this way it's much harder and more rewarding for me.

Being seen is not the issue. I can loot dangerous places and hide and never be seen, but I actively seek out interaction and never shoot 1st, however this is resulting in my death nearly everytime. Single players seem to be fine it just really the large groups. Like I can track them but when I move in to say hello then I get Kos... this is why I'm now thinking I'm just gonna kill them instead of trying to interact... I've had a 'warm an fuzzy' approach to the game but I think I will put an end to this game style and start to be a c@nt

I'm trying so hard not to be a KOS asshole... But.... Why do big groups of players always kill me? I put away my gun/hammer or axe (or sometimes unarmed) make no attempt to run or fight and say "hey how are" then I die. Happened twice today. The 1st group didn't even say anything! They just came over and opened fire point blank... The second group conversed for a while then said I was a bandit and killed me, even though I had my hands up? I go out my way to try and interact with players but it always seems to end with me getting killed... I think KOS is the way to go until the hordes are introduced.
